Improving the capacity of the ping-pong protocol

We present a quantum communication protocol which keeps all the properties of the ping-pong protocol [Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 187902 (2002)] but improves the capacity doubly as the ping-pong protocol. Alice and Bob can use the variable measurement basises in control mode to detect Eve's eavesdropping attack. In message mode, Alice can use one unitary operations to encode two bits information. Bob only needs to perform a Bell type measurement to decode Alice's information. A classical message authentification method can protect this protocol against the eavesdropping hiding in the quantum channel losses and the denial-of-service (DoS) attack.Comment: 3page; PACS:03.67.Hk, 03.65.U

Analysis of skin influence in identification of heroin using singular value decomposition

AbstractIn this paper, the influence of skin in energy-dispersive X-ray diffraction (EDXRD) spectrum of heroin was studied using singular value decomposition (SVD). The spectra of pure heroin, skin and heroin covered by skin were organized as matrices for SVD after truncation and smoothing. It was demonstrated that the two largest singular values and their corresponding left and right singular vectors of each matrix could reconstruct the matrix in the permissible error and contained enough information of the matrix. We extracted the two largest singular values of each matrix as two dimensions of the feature point of the corresponding spectrum. The feature points of different samples were clustered and a linear relationship was proved to be between and movement of feature point and thickness of component of skin, such as fat and muscle. This indicated that the method of SVD may be suitable for identification of heroin covered by skin

NLO QCD + NLO EW corrections to WZZWZZ productions with leptonic decays at the LHC

Precision tests of the Standard Model (SM) require not only accurate experiments, but also precise and reliable theoretical predictions. Triple vector boson production provides a unique opportunity to investigate the quartic gauge couplings and check the validity of the gauge principle in the SM. Since the tree-level predictions alone are inadequate to meet this demand, the next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation becomes compulsory. In this paper, we calculate the NLO QCD + NLO electroweak (EW) corrections to the W±ZZW^{\pm}ZZ productions with subsequent leptonic decays at the 14 TeV14~{\rm TeV} LHC by adopting an improved narrow width approximation which takes into account the off-shell contributions and spin correlations from the W±W^{\pm}- and ZZ-boson leptonic decays. The NLO QCD+EW corrected integrated cross sections for the W±ZZW^{\pm}ZZ productions and some kinematic distributions of final products are provided. The results show that both the NLO QCD and NLO EW corrections are significant. In the jet-veto event selection scheme with pT,jetcut=50 GeVp_{T,jet}^{cut} = 50~ {\rm GeV}, the NLO QCD+EW relative corrections to the integrated cross section are 20.5%20.5\% and 31.1%31.1\%, while the genuine NLO EW relative corrections are −5.42%-5.42\% and −4.58%-4.58\%, for the W+ZZW^+ZZ and W−ZZW^-ZZ productions, respectively. We also investigate the theoretical dependence of the integrated cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale, and find that the scale uncertainty is underestimated at the LO due to the fact that the strong coupling αs\alpha_s is not involved in the LO matrix elements.Comment: 19 pages, 8 figure
