Theories and applications of electrical quantum benchmarks

    No full text
The voltage unit and the resistance unit are the basic units in electrical metering. The Josephson voltage standard and the quantized Hall resistance standard have replaced the physical reference that was maintained by standard batteries and standard resistors. This paper investigates the working principle of voltage quantum reference, resistance quantum reference and current quantum reference. Furthermore, the applications of these new electrical References are discussed. This study provides theoretical support for the development of electricity value transfer methods

Development and Uncertainty Evaluation of Calibrating System for Digital Energy Setting

    No full text
The power measurement mode has made fundamental changes with the development of smart substation, traditional energy metering analog devices are replaced by digital devices according to the requirements of digitalized information substation. Creating traceability between digital measuring value and analog measuring value and developing relevant calibration devices are key issues in smart substation construction. A new device for calibration digital energy meters using integral calibration technology is described in this paper. Based on the Standard Comparison Method, the device establishes a connection between the digital power and the traditional analog power with the integral calibration technology, and solves the problem that digital power was not able to be traced. The device is designed with final measuring voltage level: 220kV/110kV, measuring current range: 5A~5000A, and extended uncertainty less than 0.05%. Furthermore, the estimating process of the uncertainty of the device is discussed emphatically

Digital Metering System of New Generation Smart Substation in China

    No full text
The new generation of smart substation is a summary and improvement of the earlier intelligent substations within the past 5 years. As a part of the substation operation function, the electric energy metering system must adapt to the requirements of the new generation smart substation which is more intelligent, full digitalization, networked and integrated. With the features of digitized, easy information sharing, and hardware shared, the digital measurement system is the inevitable choice for the new generation smart substation. This paper is the first literature to introduce the concept and structure of the digital metering system. The composition and technical characteristics of the new generation Smart Substation measurement system are introduced in detail

The establishment of DC power meter calibration system at China Electric Power Research Institute

    No full text
The establishment of a DC power meter calibration system using a DC current comparator and a synchronous sampling technique at China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) is described. Measurements can be made at DC voltages ranging from lOmV to IOOOV, and DC currents from lOrnA to SOOA. The system features a synchronous voltage/current sampling system and a multi-ratio DC current comparator. The uncertainty of the DC power meter calibration system is estimated to be not more than 120 JJ.WIW. Furthermore, a comparison of DC power meter calibration systems between CEPRI and National Institute of Metrology China (NIMC) is discussed and presented.Peer reviewed: YesNRC publication: Ye
