Pumped spin-current and shot noise spectra in a single quantum dot

We exploit the pumped spin-current and current noise spectra under equilibrium condition in a single quantum dot connected to two normal leads, as an electrical scheme for detection of the electron spin resonance (ESR) and decoherence. We propose spin-resolved quantum rate equations with correlation functions in Laplace-space for the analytical derivation of the zero-frequency atuo- and cross-shot noise spectra of charge- and spin-current. Our results show that in the strong Coulomb blockade regime, ESR-induced spin flip generates a finite spin-current and the quantum partition noises in the absence of net charge transport. Moreover, spin shot noise is closely related to the magnetic Rabi frequency and decoherence and would be a sensitive tool to measure them.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, to be published in Phys. Rev. Shot noise in resonant tunneling through an interacting quantum dot with intradot spin-flip scattering

In this paper, we present theoretical investigation of the zero-frequency shot noise spectra in electron tunneling through an interacting quantum dot connected to two ferromagnetic leads with possibility of spin-flip scattering between the two spin states by means of the recently developed bias-voltage and temperature dependent quantum rate equations. For this purpose, a generalization of the traditional generation-recombination approach is made for properly taking into account the coherent superposition of electronic states, i.e., the nondiagonal density matrix elements. Our numerical calculations find that the Fano factor increases with increasing the polarization of the two leads, but decreases with increasing the intradot spin-flip scattering.Comment: Some typos correction. 6 pages, 3 figures, based on work presented at the 2004 IEEE NTC Quantum Device Technology Workshop, accepted for publication by IEEE transactions on Nanotechnolog

Quantum transport through double-dot Aharonov-Bohm interferometry in Coulomb blockade regime

Transport through two quantum dots laterally embedded in Aharonov-Bohm interferometry with infinite intradot and arbitrary interdot Coulomb repulsion is analyzed in the weak coupling and Coulomb blockade regime. By employing the modified quantum rate equations and the slave-boson approach, we establish a general dc current formula at temperatures higher than the Kondo temperature for the case that the spin degenerate levels of two dots are close to each other. We examine two simple examples for identical dots - no doubly occupied states and no empty state. In the former, completely destructive coherent transport and phase locking appear at magnetic flux Φ=Φ0/2\Phi=\Phi_{0}/2 and Φ=0\Phi=0 respectively; in the latter, partially coherent transport exhibits an oscillation with magnetic flux having a period of Φ0\Phi_0.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure

Super-Poissonian shot noise in the resonant tunneling due to coupling with a localized level

We report our studies of the shot noise spectrum in tunneling through an interacting quantum dot when an additional single-level quantum dot without tunnel coupling to leads is coherently side-connected to it. We show that the zero-frequency shot noise could reach a super-Poissonian value for appropriate ratios between dot-dot hoppings and dot-lead couplings, but the current is independent on the hopping. Moreover, the frequency spectrum of shot noise shows an obvious peak at the Rabi frequency, which is controllable by tuning the dot-lead couplings.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, Appl. Phys. A Poisson Regression Examination of the Relationship between Website Traffic and Search Engine Queries

    Get PDF
A new area of research involves the use of Google data, which has been normalized and scaled to predict economic activity. This new source of data holds both many advantages as well as disadvantages, which are discussed through the use of daily and weekly data. Daily and weekly data are employed to show the effect of aggregation as it pertains to Google data, which can lead to contradictory findings. In this paper, Poisson regressions are used to explore the relationship between the online traffic to a specific website and the search volumes for certain keyword search queries, along with the rankings of that specific website for those queries. The purpose of this paper is to point out the benefits and the pitfalls of a potential new source of data that lacks transparency in regards to the original level data, which is due to the normalization and scaling procedure utilized by Google.Poisson Regression, Search Engine, Google Insights, Aggregation, Normalization Effects, Scaling Effects

Kondo correlation and spin-flip scattering in spin-dependent transport through a quantum dot coupled to ferromagnetic leads

We investigate the linear and nonlinear dc transport through an interacting quantum dot connected to two ferromagnetic electrodes around Kondo regime with spin-flip scattering in the dot. Using a slave-boson mean field approach for the Anderson Hamiltonian having finite on-site Coulomb repulsion, we find that a spin-flip scattering always depresses the Kondo correlation at arbitrary polarization strength in both parallel and antiparallel alignment of the lead magnetization and that it effectively reinforces the tunneling related conductance in the antiparallel configuration. For systems deep in the Kondo regime, the zero-bias single Kondo peak in the differential conductance is split into two peaks by the intradot spin-flip scattering; while for systems somewhat further from the Kondo center, the spin-flip process in the dot may turn the zero-bias anomaly into a three-peak structure.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
