A 25 year-old female came to the Department of Prosthodontics, complaining of problems with masticatory function, described as pain in both temporomandibular joints during mastication and dissatified with esthetics in the upper jaw. After a thorough clinical escaminations, diagnostic casts and X-ray analysis it was determined that the patent had oligodontium of 10 teeth (14, 15, 17, 18, 24, 25, 28, 38, 44, 48), discoloration of incisors caused by hypomaturated enamel (amelogenesis imperfecta), disproportion of the front teeth (in completely defined microdontia), Angle class II/1 (deep overbite) and compression of the front teeth. The case history showed that the problems were of a congenital nature apart from the frontal compression, caused by inadequate orthodontic therapy at a younger age. Despite numerous congenital abnormalities, the patient had no systemic disorders. In consultation with an orthodontist, the patient commenced orthodontic therapy with a fixed orthodontic appliance in the upper jaw for placing the teeth in the right position for fabrication of a semicircular bridge. After 6 months of orthodontic therapy, a fixed prosthodontic appliance 600321 123006 (upper jaw) was made of metal ceramic. The aim of the therapy was to replace missing teeth, protect existing teeth with hypomaturated enamel and readjust occlusal height. With the new intermaxillary relations and teeth contour esthetic and functional concordance was achieved. After therapy the patient had no pain in the temporomandibular joints

Uzorci seruma dojilja iz Zaboka i okolnih mjesta, hospitaliziranih u Zaboku i serumi dojilja iz Bjelovara hospitaliziranih u Zagrebu (N = 27) sadržavaju viÅ”e navedenih insekticida nego uzorci seruma dojilja s područja Zagreba (N = 18).Milk samples obtained from 27 hospitalized lactating women and an equal number of sera from the same women were examined for residues of chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides: aldrin, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor, heptachlorepoxide, lindan and other steroisomers of hexachlorcyclohexane, pp⟝T and its metabolites (pp\u27-DDE, pp\u27-DDD) and op\u27-DDT. Additional 18 samples of mother\u27s sera and an equal number of their children\u27s sera were examined separately. The aim was to find out whether there is a correlation between the pesticide residues in mother\u27s serum and mother\u27s milk and in the serum of the mother and her child. The insecticides were determined according to the procedure used by the US Food and Drug Administration (4). Chlorinated hydrocarbon insecticides in the serum were examined with the method described by Wyllie and coworkers (5). In all samples only the presence of a-HCH, y-HCH, pp\u27-DDE, op\u27-DDT, pp\u27-DDD and pp\u27-DDT could be demonstrated. The concentration ratio between mother\u27s milk and serum was between 4 and 11. The concentration ratio between mother\u27s and child\u27s serum was below 1 except for pp\u27-DDE and pp\u27-DDT

The paper discussed the possibility of returning organic matter (technical foliage) of black pine to forest ecosystems upon extraction of essential oils. Bearing in mind the fact that this production process is carried out in the immediate vicinity of black pine forests (mobile distilleries) from which technical foliage is taken and the possibility of a relatively easy return of extracted organic matter into the ecosystem, it became necessary to examine the influence of extracted material on metabolisms of black pine forests. It was found that during a one-year period non-extracted material was more readily decomposed than the extracted one (43.59% : 29.13%). This was established by the C:N ratio and anatomical analysis of organic matter, which presented the state of the organic source in every phase of experiment. The conclusion reached during the one-year experiment indicated the possibility and importance of returning organic matter to the ecosystem on completion of the production process. The results of this analysis proved the central role of lignin for humus structuring.nul
