The Syntheses of Barbituryl-pyrryl-methines. Some Condensation Products of Pyrrole-2-aldehyde with Barbituric Acids and Barbiturates

The preparation of condensation products of pyrrole-2- -aldehyde with barbituric acids and barbiturates is described. The sodium salts of some barbituryl-pyrryl-meth~nes showed hypnotic and spasmolytic activity

Qualitative and Quantitative Aspects of Using Eshtblausalz B to Visualise 4-Hydroxycoumarin and Some of its Biologically Active Derivatives on Thin-Layer Chromatographs

Qualitative and quantitative aspects of the analysis of 4-hy..:. droxycoumarin and some of its biologically active derivatives (dicumarol, TromexanR, warfatin, 3-(co-bromoacetyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin and 3-(co-bromoacetyl)-4-hydroxy-7-bromocoumarin) were studied. The coumarin derivatives can be sharply separated by TLC on .silica gel HF254 using Eshtblausalz B for detection. Azo compounds of coumarine derivatives show that a linear relationship exists between spot-eluate absorbances and the amonts applied from 10 to 30 μg. The new rapid and sensitive method was obtained for qualitative and quantitative analysis of 4-hydroxy- . coumarin derivatives

Products of 3-Acetyl-4-hydroxycoumarins with Some a-Aminooxy and a-Aminocarboxylic Acids

3-Acety 1-4-hydroxycoumarin 1 and 3-acety 1-4-hydroxy-6-bromocoumarin 1,2 were condensed with a-aminooxy carboxylic acids3 and some a-aminoacids. We expect the obtained derivatives o.f oximes and azomethines to show bactericide activity, characteristic for compounds containing the aminooxy group3, also and for azomethines o.f 4-hydroxycoumarins4 • Some oximes of aminooxy acetic acid were already prepared with the same purpose
