EVALUATION OF MODERN HERITAGE ASSETS IN POZNAN USING MONOTONIC DECISION RULES

The protection of cultural heritage is an important task of communities on various levels of social organization. The institutionalization of the processes of protection of modern heritage assets provides the necessary instruments (legislative, juridical, financial) enabling the actual realization of the assumed tasks. The criterion of age, which is still a dominating premise for monument protection, proved not to be sufficient, especially concerning protection of monuments of Modernism. A step that led to the determination of the value of individual architectural objects of the 20th century was the establishment of 10 evaluation criteria proposed by historians of architecture in Warsaw, and afterwards in Poznan.In this work, we focus on the architectural value of post-war buildings, which are most difficult to evaluate. Furthermore, we wanted to apply AI to objectify the process of decision making. The adequacy of the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) method has been established. This method takes into account preference orders on criteria and models patterns observed in data in terms of monotonic “if &hellip;, then &hellip;” decision rules.</p

The architectural heritage protection as an element of early childhood education

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienia związane z ochroną dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki oraz edukacją elementarną i wczesnoszkolną. Budowa spójnego systemu ochrony dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki XX wieku w Polsce wymaga podjęcia działań na wielu poziomach. Jego podstawą powinno być stałe podnoszenie świadomości społecznej w tym zakresie, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem możliwości drzemiących w edukacji. W artykule omówiono najważniejsze problemy – możliwości i zagrożenia – związane z powyższymi zagadnieniami.The paper tackles the issue related with protection of the heritage of architecture and urban design, as well as early childhood education. Creating coherent protection system for architecture and urbanism of the twentieth century in Poland requires action at many levels. It should be based on raising public awareness in this regard, with particular emphasis put on the powers of education. The article discusses the most important issues – opportunities and risks – related to the above topics

Present-day instruments of architect's work and quality of residential space

Artykuł dotyczy wpływu, jaki współczesne narzędzia pracy architekta, a zwłaszcza komputerowe wspomaganie projektowania wywierają na jakość projektowanej przestrzeni mieszkalnej. Problem ten może być rozpatrywany na kilku płaszczyznach z jednej strony ułatwienia, jakie dają nowoczesne narzędzia, zwiększają możliwość eliminacji błędów na etapie projektowym, ale z drugiej strony pozwalają projektantom na sterowanie odczuciami przyszłych klientów, nie zawsze w sposób rzetelny i uczciwy. Artykuł porusza moralne i etyczne strony pracy architekta we współczesnym świecie opanowanym przez konsumpcjonizm i chęć szybkiego zysku. Dodatkowym utrudnieniem staje się fakt, że obecnie praca ta zazwyczaj przebiega na płaszczyźnie projektant – inwestor (deweloper), a nie projektant – przyszły użytkownik mieszkania.This article is about the impact present-day instruments of architect’s work, especially computer aided architectural design, for the quality of residential space. The problem can be dealt with on several levels. On the one hand, new instruments simplify work and minimize errors, on the other hand they allow designers to control the feelings of future customers.The article considers the moral and ethical part of architect’s work in the modern world, which is brought under control by the rapid consumption and a desire to profit. Added problem is the fact, that nowadays designers usually communicate with developers, not future users of residential space
