Do the teachers' organizational trust levels predict their academic optimism?
This research was conducted to determine the relationship between teachers' organizational trust levels and academic optimism perception about their schools. The research is in relational screening model. The sample of the study consisted of 299 teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in Uşak province. In the study, simple random sampling was employed. The data were collected by The Organizational Trust Scale and the Organizational Trust in Colleagues Scale and School Academic Optimism Scale. In the analysis of the data, arithmetic mean, one way variance analysis, Pearson Product Moment Coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used. According to the results of the study; It is observed that teachers who work in primary school and secondary schools have high levels of trust in the organization and teachers who work in high schools have a moderate level of trust in the organization. The level of teachers’ trust in the administrator working in all school levels is moderate. Again teachers’ perceptions about academic optimism of their schools is high in all school levels. In the research, the school academic optimism levels of primary school teachers was found higher than that of high school teachers. A significant relationship between teachers’ trust in the organizational and the level of school academic optimism was found only in secondary schools. While there is a low positive relationship between the teachers’ trust in the administrator and school academic optimism levels in primary school, there is a moderate positive relationship in secondary and high schools. While primary teachers' trust in the administrator does not predict school academic optimism levels; level of trust of secondary and high schools teachers to administrators predicts about school academic optimism levels of their schools
The effect of buserelin injection 12 days after insemination on selected reproductive characteristics in cows
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of buserelin injection on day 12 postinsemination on fertility in lactating dairy cattle. A total of 57 cows were assigned to two groups and four subgroups. In the treatment group, the cows were synchronized with PGF2α-PGF2α (group A) or GnRH-PGF2α (group B) protocol, and buserelin was injected on day 12 postinsemination. Cows in the control group were synchronized with PGF2α-PGF2α (group C) or GnRH-PGF2α (group D) protocol, saline solution was injected on day 12, and served as controls. Pregnancy rates on day 21 and 45 and embryonic death rates were 85.7%, 71.4% and 16.7%, 85.7%, 85.7% and 0.0%, 73.3%, 62.1% and 27.3% and 85.7%, 71.4% and 16.7% in groups A, B, C and D, respectively. There was no significant difference between synchronization protocols for pregnancy rates, and among groups A, B, C and D for pregnancy rates and embryonic death rates. Mean progesterone concentrations in pregnant cows in groups A and B were higher than that in groups C and D, respectively, on day 18 and 21 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, GnRH injection on day 12 postinsemination increased the plasma progesterone concentrations on day 18 and 21 postinsemination. However, it did not alter the pregnancy rates and prevent embryonic deaths

Numerical solution of the transport equation for monoenergetic neutrons scattered isotropically through the medium of a finite homogeneous slab is studied for the determination of the eigenvalues. After obtaining the discrete ordinates form of the transport equation, separated homogeneous and particular solutions are formed and then the eigenvalues are calculated using the Gauss-Legendre quadrature set. Then, the calculated eigenvalues for various values of the c0, the mean number of secondary neutrons per collision, are given in the tables
Gas atomization of NiCrBSi powders
NiCrBSi powders are used in hard surface coating applications. The mechanical and physical properties of required powders result in different compositions. In this study, the effect of atomisation parameters such as alloy composition, gas pressure, overheating of melt in industrial atomization scale were investigated. Atomised powders were characterized by particle size distribution, SEM/EDS, oxygen content and hardness test. The effect of atomization parameters to final powder properties were discussed
A skeletochronological study of age, growth and longevity of Rana macrocnemis populations from four locations at different altitudes in Turkey
We examined life-history traits such as population age structure, growth and longevity of Iranian Long-Legged frogs (Rana macrocnemis) from 4 different locations at different altitudes in Turkey by skeletochronology performed on the phalanges. The maximum lifespan was 5 years in Maçka (350 m a.s.l.), 6 years in Hidirnebi (1430 m a.s.l.), 8 years in Sarikamiş (2276 m a.s.l.) and 10 years in Ovit (2850 m a.s.l.). Age at sexual maturity of both males and females was 2-3 years in the Maçka, Hidirnebi and Sarikamiş populations, while 3-4 years for males and 3-5 years for females in the Ovit population. In all populations, males and females did not exhibit any differences in terms of mean age and SVL except for Sarikamis where the males were significantly larger than the females. A positive correlation was observed between age and SVL for both sexes in all populations except for the males of the Maçka population. © 2011 BRILL
