International audienceThis article aims to examine how the logics of knowledge and desire are intertwined in theoretical writing. Psychoanalytical critique intends to reveal the drives underlying every perspective of knowledge and the metaphysical or even psychopathological dimension of the very act of theorisation. However, does psychoanalytical theorising escape this very critique? This paper gives an account of the discourse position of psychoanalytical theory, critical of knowledge and lying in enunciation, and more explicitly in metaphor. Through a constant parallel between analytical sessions and writing, metaphor enables to bring together analytical theorisation, fiction and practice.Este artigo propõe examinar o encontro, na escrita teórica, das lógicas do conhecimento e do desejo. Se a psicanálise pretende revelar o substrato pulsional de qualquer conhecimento, e as implicações metafísicas, e inclusive patológicas de qualquer teorização, como isentaria desta crítica a sua própria construção teórica? Trata-se de dar conta da postura discursiva na teoria analítica, abordando a sua crítica do conhecimento e inscrevendo a sua especificidade na enunciação. Violences conjugales, violences théoriques. La psychanalyse à l'épreuve du genre

International audienceThis article aims to examine certain psychoanalytical theories of domestic violence, confronting them to a clinical experience with abused women in suburban Sao Paulo. This perspective relies on a correspondence between the psyche and the social context. Research, clinical experience and theory are narrowly linked in psychoanalysis, which, more than a mere theory, proves to be a method applied to an objet, the Unconscious, made positive only through the psychoanalytical research and technique. This article purports to analyse how a psychoanalytical theory of domestic violence could account for the specific social-historic dimension of this phenomenon. Some psychoanalytical interpretations literalize or imaginarize Freudien and Lacanien texts, through notions of essentialized feminine masochism or a reductive reading of the phallus. Domestic violence against women questions in a new way the historicity of theory, its social, cultural and political definitions. These are issues along which Gender Studies address psychoanalysis. Taking into account the clinical and historical signification of domestic violence may help avoiding that frozen an-historical metapsychology become a paradoxical resistance against psychoanalysis.Cet article a pour visée d'analyser certaines théorisations psychanalytiques de la violence conjugale, à la lumière d'une expérience clinique auprès de femmes souffrant de violences conjugales dans la banlieue de São Paulo. Cette recherche s'inscrit dans une étude mettant en correspondance la psyché et le champ social. Traduisant une indissociabilité entre recherche, clinique et théorisation, la psychanalyse n'est point d'abord une théorie mais une méthode liée à un objet, l'inconscient, rendu positif par une procédure de recherche et une technique. Comment penser alors une théorisation susceptible de rendre compte de la singularité social-historique de la violence conjugale contre les femmes ? Littéralisant ou imaginarisant des textes freudiens ou lacaniens, bien des interprétations psychanalytiques font état d'une position masochiste féminine essentialisée, ou d'une lecture réduite du phallus. La violence conjugale contre les femmes repose, à nouveaux frais, la question de l'historicité de la théorisation, de son inscription sociale, culturelle, politique, autant d'interrogations que les études du genre ne manquent pas de formuler à la psychanalyse. La confrontation à la signification clinique et historique de la violence conjugale contre les femmes est alors une occasion d'éviter qu'une métapsychologie figée, an-historique, ne devienne paradoxale résistance à la psychanalyse

A psicanálise : um projeto de autonomia ?

O fim da psicanálise é consubstancial com o projeto da autonomia " declara Cornelius Castoriadis no seu texto " Psychanalyse et politique " , onde destaca a importância que a psicanálise da à atividade própria do sujeito. Esta autonomia é definida primeiro no texto " Epilégomènes à une théorie de l'âme que l'on a pu présenter comme science ", onde Castoriadis apresenta a psicanálise como a liberação ulterior do que antes pasava por um determinismo do sujeito. Num modo particular, Castoriadis da relevo à atividade de um sujeito do saber na psicanálise. A autonomia à que a psicanalise permitiria o acesso caracterizaria uma subjetividade reflexiva. " A psicanalise, afirma em " Psychanalyse et politique ", tenta de ajudar o individuo a tornar-se autônomo : capaz de atividade refletida e de deliberação " . Se a reflexão constitui uma dimensão própria ao pensamento filosófico, define-se, porém, no psicanálise, como um voltar do sujeito sobre si mesmo, e um ultrapassar da repetição, segundo Castoriadis. Eis uma estranha definição da psicanálise pela reflexão, ligada ao conceito de imaginação radical (" imagination radicale ") desenvolvido por Castoriadis. A liberação da imaginação radical é que substitui, na psicanálise, ao recalcamento uma reflexão sobre os conteúdos inconscientes, e ao agir compulsivo uma deliberação lúcida. This article aims to tackle some aspects of Maurice Merleau-Ponty's reading of psychoanalysis, stressing both the originality and the limits of this approach. A philosopher, Merleau-Ponty reads psychoanalytic theory differently from the usual criticism his fellow-philosophers address psychanalysis. Yet, this particular " philosophical psychoanalysis " he aims to achieve raises epistemological questions. Shouldn't the epistemology that psychoanalysis procedes from not separate the theoretical and the clinical perspectives ?Le présent article souhaite éclairer quelques aspects de l'approche de la psychanalyse par la phénoménologie de Maurice Merleau-Ponty, en en soulignant l'originalité, mais aussi les limites. A instituição entre fenomenologia e psicanálise: afeto, teoria e historicidade

International audienceThe category of institution, in the way it was articulated by Merleau-Ponty, is proposed in this article as recovery of a historical and concrete sense of the notions of affect, unconscious, and interpretation of dreams, mostly elaborated in abstract and ahistorical forms in psychoanalytical theory. With such a recovery of the dialetic between the individual determination and the social life, present in the concept of institution developed by Merleau-Ponty, the psychoanalysis could give a more appropriate answer to some contemporary challenges in gender questions without stumble into a sort of dogmatism of the symbolic law.A categoria de instituição, tal como articulada por Merleau-Ponty, é proposta neste artigo como recuperação do sentido histórico e concreto das noções de afeto, de inconsciente e de interpretação dos sonhos, perdidas para formas abstratas e ahistóricas de teorização da psicanálise. Lived Body and Fantasmatic Body : the Debate between Phenomenology and Psychoanalysis

International audienceNeither the lived body, taken up by Merleau-Ponty after Husserl, nor the libidinal body theorised by psychanalysts after Freud, can be reduced to the counted, measured, physical body, apprehended only from outside. Both phenomenology and psychoanalysis set forth the priority of a global subjective lived body, approached "from within". However, their perspectives seem to differ when it comes to the conception of the interiority of this lived body, which psychoanalysis deems as imaginary. This paper examines the similarities and discrepancies between the Merleau-Pontyan phenomenological body and the Freudian erogenous body. It attempts to show how the very categories of perception and imagination are reversed when moving from one discipline to the other. It concludes by proposing some lines along which the comparison could be prolonged

Inconscient et traduction, de la psychanalyse à la traductologie

International audienceThe process of translation appears in psychoanalytical clinical practice and theory already in Freud's early texts. Translation links mnemic residues, and things presentations to words presentations ; it is described as the opposite of repression, and underlays the major part of the dream-work. Yet reciprocally, this concept also refers to the interpretation-work that leads from dream images, symptoms, slips or parapraxes to unconscious thoughts. This central issue of traduceability, accross linguistics, hermeneutics and metapsychology, raises the question of the nature of this crossing process (tra-ducere). Through several notions of traductology, together with the Merleau-Ponty concept of expression and the analysis of various translations of the first stanza of Edgar Allan Poe's Raven, we will examine whether this process is linguistic and will try to conceive of some translation with no original language.Le processus de traduction accompagne la clinique analytique et sa théorisation dès les premiers textes de Freud : il fait le lien entre restes mnésiques, représentations de choses et représentations de mots, est décrit comme l'inverse du refoulement, ou constitue l'essentiel du travail du rêve. Réciproquement, le concept de traduction sert souvent à désigner le travail d'interprétation permettant d'accéder, depuis des images du rêve, des symptômes, des lapsus ou des actes manqués, à des pensées inconscientes. La question centrale de la traductibilité que la psychanalyse pose alors, dans un renvoi entre linguistique, herméneutique et métapsychologie, servira d'outil pour rechercher la nature de ce processus d'" acheminement à travers " (tra-ducere). Par le truchement de notions de traductologie, du concept Merleau-Ponty en d'expression, et de l'analyse de traductions de la première strophe du poème The Raven de Edgar Allan Poe, nous interrogerons la nature linguistique de ce processus, et tenterons d'envisager une traduction sans langue originelle

La psychanalyse : une pensée magique ?

This article aims to tackle the accusation that psychoanalysis may proceed from magic thought, by examining the functioning of magic thoughts and its operativeness as defined by both psychoanalysis and anthropology. Magic thought appears as a regressive omnipotence of thought, but also as a performative dimension of words, which proves fundamental in the practice and theory of psychoanalysis. The point will then consist in trying to maintain, both in the practice and theory of psychoanalysis, this performativeness of words without yielding to the omnipotence of thought.Cet article se propose d'examiner l'accusation de pensée magique portée à l'endroit de la psychanalyse, en se penchant sur le fonctionnement de la pensée magique et ses modes opératoires tel qu'il est défini à la fois par la psychanalyse et l'anthropologie. A la dimension de toute-puissance régressive des idées que la psychanalyse révèle au fondement de la pensée magique s'ajoute celle d'une efficace de la parole, qui ne manque pas de s'actualiser dans la cure et la théorisation analytique. La question posée, à la fois sur le plan de la pratique et de la théorisation analytique, consistera à tenter de maintenir cette efficace de la parole sans choir dans le risque d'une toute-puissance de la pensée
