Ideafest Poster: Trans/Undocuqueer in Detention

This presentation will explore the history of detention centers (concentration camps) in the US and the nuances which have put undocumented QTPOC at risk. The inhumane misgendering of trans womxn, which often places them in “male” detention centers, leads to high rates of physical and psychological abuse. Our presentation will discuss the conditions trans people face in detention centers (concentration camps) while also addressing ways to support them.
