How Empowered Leadership in Pakistan's Public Sectors Enhances Employee Creativity a Mediating Role of Creative Self-Efficacy

This study's main objective is to better understand how empowered leadership in Pakistan's public sectors enhances employee creativity through the mediating role of creative self-efficacy. The most important success factors for every company, especially in the public sector, are job engagement and employee creativity. Questionnaire survey approach was employed by the researcher in the current quantitative study to collect data from participants. Survey participants included 176 employees working in Pakistan's private sectors. A simple random sample approach, which is a type of probability sampling, to gather data. Data analysis, data normality testing, and descriptive statistics were all performed using SPSS 26. Additionally, it has been shown that the link between empowered leadership, job engagement, and employee creativity has been mediated by creative self-efficacy. The new study adds the mediation function of creative self-efficacy between empowering leadership and employee creativity. Additionally, this study helps private sector employees in a variety of ways, such as by boosting their self-assurance, sense of purpose, and level of passion. This study helps businesses increase employee engagement, motivation, loyalty, and enthusiasm in their work in order to secure the company's success

Perceived Stress among Students in Medical/Dental and Allied Health Universities in Pakistan due to COVID-19 Pandemic

  Objective: Aim of the study was to explore the perceived stress in students at various medical and dental universities across Pakistan during the COVID 19 pandemic, using a validated scale.Materials and Methods: The study took place at the Institute of Psychiatry (IOP) Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU). Results: About 400 medical students participated countrywide. The final analysis was conducted on 333 participants who completed the survey form. Study participants comprised 69.1% female and 30.9% male students. About 74.5% of the participants represented Punjab province, 1.2% were from Sindh, another 1.2% belonged to Baluchistan, 2.4% were from KPK, and 1.5% were from AJK while 19.2% of them resided in Islamabad. The majority of participants were enrolled in MBBS (78.4%) while the rest were from BDS (3%), Allied Health Sciences (12.9%), Clinical Psychology (3.6%), and Pharm D (2.1%).The mean perceived stress score was 21.34, SD=4.90 suggesting high perceived stress levels. Approximately 4.5% of students perceived low levels of stress, 80.2% perceived moderate stress, whereas 15.3% scored high on the perceived stress scale. Male students had statistically significant (p=0.38) lower stress levels (M=19.99, SD=5.91) as compared to females (M= 21.95, SD= 4.26). Conclusions: Perceived stress level in medical students was alarmingly high and requires urgent intervention by the Medical and Dental Universities for immediate action and policy guidance for early identification and effective management. This can be achieved by delivering targeted e-workshops and evidence-based e-trainings for stress management like psychological first aid and mindfulness techniques

Implementation of ventilator bundle in pediatric intensive care unit of a developing country

The aim of this study was to assess the frequency of VAP(ventilator associated pneumonia) after strict implementation of ventilator bundle in PICU. Medical records of all children (age 1 month - 16 years) were retrospectively reviewed, who were on mechanical ventilation (MV) for more than 48 hours and received all key components of ventilator bundle from January 2012 to December 2014. Out of 1050, 565 (54%) patients were enrolled. The mean age was 4.02 SD 4.29 years and 62 (69%) were male. The indications of MV were respiratory illness (54%), neurological illness (31%), shock (9%), and postoperative care (6%). The mean duration of MV was 7.05 SD 5.4 days. Only 4 patients (0.7%) developed VAP. The incidence-density of VAP was 1.6 per 1000 ventilator days. The strict implementation of simple, inexpensive interventions (ventilator bundle) in care of mechanically ventilated children can decrease significantly VAP even in resource-limited country

Compromised user credentials detection using temporal features: A prudent based approach

This study exposes a serious and rapidly growing cyber threat of compromised legitimate user credentials which is very effective for cyber-criminals to gain trusted relationships with the account owners. Such a compromised user\u27s credentials ultimately result in damage incurred by the attacker at large-scale. Moreover, the detection of compromised legitimate user activities is crucial in competitive and sensitive organizations because wrong data is more difficult to clean from the database. The proposed study presents a novel approach to detect compromised users\u27 activity in a live database. Our approach uses a composition of prudence analysis, ripple down rules (RDR) and simulated experts (SE) to detect and identify accounts that experience a sudden change in behavior. We collected data from a sensitive running database for a period of Six months and evaluate the proposed technique. The results show that this combined model can fully detect outlier user\u27s activity and can provide useful information for the concerned decision maker
