Movie Popularity Classification based on Inherent Movie Attributes using C4.5,PART and Correlation Coefficient
Abundance of movie data across the internet makes it an obvious candidate for
machine learning and knowledge discovery. But most researches are directed
towards bi-polar classification of movie or generation of a movie
recommendation system based on reviews given by viewers on various internet
sites. Classification of movie popularity based solely on attributes of a movie
i.e. actor, actress, director rating, language, country and budget etc. has
been less highlighted due to large number of attributes that are associated
with each movie and their differences in dimensions. In this paper, we propose
classification scheme of pre-release movie popularity based on inherent
attributes using C4.5 and PART classifier algorithm and define the relation
between attributes of post release movies using correlation coefficient.Comment: 6 page
LESSONS FROM PSYCHIATRY IN THE ARAB WORLD A Lebanese Trainee Psychiatrist’s Qualitative Views on the Provision of Mental Healthcare Services for Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon and an Interview with a Consultant Psychiatrist on the Effects of the Arab Spring on the Mental Health of Libyans
In this manuscript, a Lebanese trainee psychiatrist qualitatively analyses and discusses the provision of mental healthcare
services for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. There are more than 250,000 Palestinian people sporadically dispersed in the refugee
camps in Sidon, Beirut and other major cities in the Levant. Displacement, conflict, trauma, unemployment and poverty are but some
of the myriad factors that influence Palestinian refugee mental health. This article traces the historical, political and socioeconomic
determinants of health for Palestinians exiled in Lebanon and describes the pivotal role that the non-Govenmental Organisation
Medical Aid for Palestinians is playing in helping to alleviate the psychiatric distress of Palestinian sufferers of mental illness. The
latter half of the manuscript contains an interview with a consultant psychiatrist about his experiences volunteering in the war-torn
lands of Libya post Arab Spring. He expounds on how he feels mental healthcare services in Libya are woefully inadequate and
broaches on his perception of how the resilience and the ‘family-centric’ model of the Libyan people has conferred a certain degree
of protection towards developing severe psychiatric illness

A Minimax Bias Estimator for OLS Variances under Heteroskedasticity
Analytic evaluation of heteroskedasticity consistent covariance matrix
estimates (HCCME) is difficult because of the complexity of the formulae
currently available. We obtain new analytic formulae for the bias of a class of
estimators of the covariance matrix of OLS in a standard linear regression
model. These formulae provide substantial insight into the properties and
performance characteristics of these estimators. In particular, we find a new
estimator which minimizes the maximum possible bias and improves substantially
on the standard Eicker-White estimate
