Effects of a school intervention program delivered in children with movement difficulties with minimal specialist support. A feasibility study

Regular provision of specific treatment for children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) is impossible due to limited resources. However, intervention programs delivered by teachers and/or parents have been shown to be effective. We piloted a program where teachers identified children with DCD and teaching assistants (TAs) delivered an intervention program in nursery schools with minimal support from a therapist from a therapist. This proved to be effective in improving motor skills. In this study we piloted that program with primary school children. The primary aim was to evaluate the feasibility of an intervention program delivered in children with DCD by TAs with minimal specialist support.
