Analysis of Russian and global game studies: ludology vs. narratology
The author reviews the past-to-present academic literature on game studies from the perspective of ludology and narratology. The academic study of video games has grown substantially since 2001 - the year Game Studies started publishing its first articles. Yet both ludology and narratology remain a particularly new field, especially in the Russian academic field, and many of its discussed themes have yet to attain widespread recognition. The academic articles published between 2017 and 2022 were reviewed to provide understanding of the current state of the research on ludology and narratology in various research areas. The corpus was gathered by searching publications in international database Scopus. Each article was categorized according to the type of database, period of time, the country of publication, the field of study and the frequency of citations. The applied method of quantitative research allows tracking the development of research within five years in the field of game studies. Several proposals for further research in this field were put forward. The main hypothesis of this work is that one type of methodology is more applicable than the other, considering the background. The author concludes that one type of methodology can prevail in research - depending on the region of the published article
Transforming the future: a review of artificial intelligence models
A comprehensive review of existing artificial intelligence models, focusing on fourteen prominent language and multimodal generative models from four rapidly evolving categories: Marketing, Copywriting, Image Improvement, and Social Media, is made. As of May 2023, 1,523 AI models are available to end users, with notable Russian services such as Balaboba, GigaChat, and Kandinskiy 2.0 emerging as counterparts to popular foreign neural networks. The potential applications of these tools in various media production domains, including journalism, marketing, and copywriting, are explored. It was necessary to talk about language models, since these are the ones, most connected not only to the media sphere, but to academic writing as well. Moreover, the authors delve into the ethical considerations associated with the use of AI models in professional settings, addressing potential challenges and concerns. The importance of responsible development, use, and regulation of AI technology, as well as the need for collaboration among researchers, governments, and private organizations to ensure ethical AI practices, is highlighted. The authors also outline the prospects for further development of AI models and related research, emphasizing the need to foster an environment of continuous learning for innovation that is inclusive and accessible. This approach will help maximize the benefits of AI while minimizing potential harm, paving the way for a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future. The presented materials can serve as an introduction to the emerging branch of AI models development

Formation of osteoconductive biograft with bioorganic scaffold, human mesenchymal stromal cells, and platelet-rich plasma with its evaluation in vitro
Background: Complex graft bioengineering is an actual topic in bone defectsβ repair. For those, different scaffolds may be seeded with mesenchymal stromal cells and growth / differentiation factors. The natural role of platelet factors in reparative processes justifies the possibility of its usage for mesenchymal stromal cell proliferation and differentiation into osteoblasts in vitro in terms of the scaffold-based bioengineering. To develop and evaluate in vitro biocompatibility and osteoconductivity of a complex biograft based on a bioorganic scaffold seeded with human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells and saturated with growth and differentiation factors of allogeneic platelet-rich plasma. Results: The properties of viability and adhesion of human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells in four types of bioorganic scaffolds were evaluated with biochemical and immunomorphological methods. Scaffold with the least cytotoxicity was used as a basis for complex biograft formation, so as a carrier for cells and platelet-derived factors. Then, cell proliferation activity and osteogenic differentiation were estimated with biochemical, morphological, histochemical and molecular-biological methods. The study showed high viability of cells in all bioorganic scaffolds but the least cytotoxicity was the one based on xenogeneic collagen sponge. We also found that allogeneic platelet-rich plasma positively affects the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells in a complex biograft in vitro. Conclusions: The properties of the developed complex biograft characterize its biocompatibility and osteoconductivity and make it potentially suitable for regenerative medicine, particularly for reconstructive surgery of bone defects.How to cite: Danilkovich NN, Kosmacheva SM, Ionova AG, et al.
