INVESTIGATION OF A FILLET WELF JOINT WITH ULTRASOUND

    Get PDF
Fillet welded joints have a very high share in the industry. In the case of these welded joints, the stress concentrators at the intersection of the base material / filler material and the inner discontinuities are specific. The cumulative effect of these stress concentrators and the interior defects that inevitably occur in welding can lead to failure that may result in unpleasant consequences. Therefore, in the case of fillet welded joints, it is necessary to monitor and control the inner discontinuities. In this paper we investigate using the ultrasound control method, the fillet weld seam between those two T-welded sheets

THE INVESTIGATION OF A BUTT WELD WITH ULTRASOUND

    Get PDF
In the case of welded joints there are defects that can not be seen with the naked eye. These defects being within the material to know if they can cause failures in the future, should be investigated and ranked in an acceptance class according to certain standards in the field. In this paper we investigate using the ultrasonic control method, the welding seam between two butt welded sheets

ELIMINATION OF LOSSES USED LEAN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES AND KAIZEN PHILOSOPHY

    Get PDF
Lean manufacturing is today one of the most successful production strategies for improving competitiveness. To achieve success, a healthy production system based on solid concepts and philosophies is also required. Thus, it has been decided to adopt and accelerate the Lean Manufacturing concept on every site. The Kaizen or "Continuous Improvement by Involving All" method is a teamwork methodology used to systematically solve problems and apply improvement solutions

STRUCTURAL - FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE SOIL LEVEL MACHINE

    Get PDF
The soil leveling machine is of half – carried type and it works, as unit, with the wheeled tractor (or caterpillar tractor). The leveling plane is established by the rear wheels of the tractor and by the wheels of the hind train of the machine. The positive and negative soil dislevelments are given against the leveling plane. In the paper there are established the displacements of the mechanism for the automatic working regime, in which the cutting blade is execution element

MODIFICATION OF PERFORMANCE INDICATORS USING KANBAN METHOD AND GROWTH IN PRODUCTION LEVEL

    Get PDF
The Kanban method is based on the principle of taking over the tasks by the team members as they become available (pull system), and not on the placement of the tasks without their being requested by the person to execute them (push system).Using the Kanban method, components are manufactured only when needed, so extra components are eliminated. As there is no extra production, waste cuts and scrap are reduced

ANALYSIS OF QUALITY PROBLEMS IN PRODUCTION SYSTEM USING THE PDCA INSTRUMENT

    Get PDF
This model provides a framework for improving a process or system. It can be used as a guiding tool throughout the improvement project, for the development of specific projects when identified areas requiring improvement, or when anomalies or deviations from standard are detected in existing projects. The PDCA cycle has been created to be used as a dynamic model. Completing one of the stages of the cycle automatically leads to the start of the next stage. Following the principle of continuous quality improvement, the process can be reviewed at any time, and a new "change test" can begin

The failure of the floating cover of a vertical cylindrical tank

    Get PDF
The location of oil tanks for the storage of volatile hydrocarbons could be done in geographical areas where the standard unit weight of the snow layer on the horizontal surface of the land reached 1500 ... 2000 N / m2 . The snow layer deposited on the floating cover under heavy weather conditions can cause a compressive force between 4500 and 6000 N / m2 . This creates problems in the operation of the tank and consequently the constructive structure of the floating cover can not bear this unitary load from the snow load, inevitably causing the damage. The capacities of the floating cover should be considered not only in terms of limitations on load-bearing considerations in general, but also in terms of the distribution of loads on the surface of the floating cover. The paper presents the aspect of the failure of a floating cover of a vertical cylindrical tank used to store liquid hydrocarbons under heavy climatic conditions

THE INFLUENCE OF BRAZING TEMPERATURE ON THE METALLOGRAPHIC MICROSTRUCTURE OF THE BONDED WELD

    No full text
Since it was determined that as a result of fatigue on the brazed joints, the breakage occurs in thefiller material or in its immediate vicinity (Z.I.T.M.), it is necessary to study the phenomenon in themicrostructure. The experiments have been made on alloys 3L59 samples, using as filler material the aluminumalloy L103. The brazing was made by gluing, overlapping nonstandard sample

This paper proposes an algorithm that is based on a complex analysis method that is used for \ud choosing the configuration of a power station. The station generates electric energy an\ud d hydrogen, and serves a \ud "green" highway. The elements that need to be considered are: energy efficiency, location, availability of \ud primary energy sources in the area, investment cost, workforce, environmental impact, compatibility with \ud existing systems, m\ud eantime between failure

FATIGUE CURVES FOR ALUMINIUM BRAZED AREAS

    No full text
An important factor for the quality of joints is the brazed area. The fatigue check occupies a majorposition among many test procedures and methods, especially by the joining technologies. The results ofprocessing the fatigue data experiments for aluminium brazed probes are used to find the regression functionand the response surface methodolog
