Primary Adaptation Management of the Mining Faculties Graduates (by the Example of Coal Mining Enterprise)

    No full text
The article highlights the problem of primary adaptation of graduates of higher and secondary vocational education institutions at Kuzbass coal enterprises. The main reasons for voluntary resignation of young specialists in the first year of their professional life are considered (by the example of JSC “UK Kuzbassrazrezugol” “Taldinsky ugolny razrez” and JSC "OUK Yuzhkuzbassugol”). The drawbacks of the existing adaptation programs are analyzed. The necessity of primary adaptation management is explained. The authors present a comprehensive program of adaptation activities as a necessary part of HR management which is aimed to retain a stable young staff at the enterprise. The program includes the development of a primary adaptation standard, description of organizing influence technologies at the initial stage of employment, methods of non-monetary incentives and final diagnostics of the adaptation indicators of newcomers. Risk factors inhibiting the adaptation process of graduates are also specified in the article. Testing of the primary adaptation program was carried out on the basis of “Taldinsky ugolny razrez”, the largest coal mining enterprise of Kuzbass

In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, university education has undergone dramatic changes, resulting in a justified increase in the need for the development of distant learning. Today, information technology is an invaluable part of the learning process around the world. The purpose of this article is to analyze positive and negative aspects of applying information and communication technologies to the process of teaching foreign languages to students of mining specialties. The ways of solving the problems, identified in the discipline "Foreign language" in the course of the practical implementation of distance learning, are outlined. The possibilities of using such information tools as video lectures, video conferences, electronic coursebooks, computer testing are considered. Particular attention is devoted to the Moodle course management system as the most effective technology contributing to the formation of the language skills of future mining engineers. The authors come to the conclusion that each of the considered innovative educational technologies has a number of undeniable advantages, thus having a positive impact on both teachers and students. The recommendations developed by the authors provide a means for improving pedagogical design at the level of both individual teachers and universities

International Practice of Environmental Challenges Regulation

    No full text
Modern society needs to establish a balance between social and economic development and environment conservation. This target can be met through the integrated use of legislative, economic and administrative measures developed and implemented by various international, national and regional organizations. Environmental management can achieve the maximum efficiency only through the joint use of three environmental policy instruments: direct regulating, market-based instruments, and voluntary programs. Direct regulating is inherently directive in terms of establishing emission standards / discharge limits, industry product and process specifications, and transparency reporting requirements. The implementation of market-based instruments depends on the day-to-day use of private sector financial calculations. Economic methods include price-based instruments and property-based instruments. Voluntary programs, actively encouraged by governments, offer intangible rewards such as public recognition. The vast legislative framework and activities of governmental and public organizations encourage mining and processing enterprises to strictly conform to environmental rules and regulations. While multiple market-based instruments of environmental management and voluntary programs provides businesses with greater autonomy in choosing ways, means and terms of restructuring their environmental policies to meet pressing environmental challenges

Cross-cultural analysis of the verbal conflict behavior of the graduate mining engineers

    No full text
The article is devoted to the crucial issue of the interpersonal communication skills of engineering graduates and studies the verbal behavior of the graduates majoring in mining engineering in conflict professional communication considered in a cross-cultural aspect. The research is based on the needs that future mining engineers have for conducting successful communication, work in teams and run an effective discourse both verbally and in writing. Verbal communication involves a strategic process by which a speaker defines the language resources for its implementation. By choosing a strategy which should contribute to the goals and objectives of the interaction a speaker makes the process of communication either successful or leading to a communicative failure. The scientific importance of this work is in multidiscipline approach and cross-cultural study of ethnic and cultural influences, gender and other characteristics of the verbal behavior of Russian and American engineering graduates
