New Dimensions of Management Education: Issues & Imperatives

    Get PDF
Management education has gained importance due to the emergence of professionalism in the corporate sector. In the meantime, the competitive business environment has paved the way for increased demand for management graduates in the employment market. This has led to a significant expansion of management education across the world. Today, business schools have the challenging task of developing the competency level of students to meet corporate expectations. Given the developments in today’s business environment, preparing our students for their future will require significant change in the curriculum and pedagogy. In this background, this paper attempts to explore a mechanism to stimulate development of new curricular elements and methods in management education. It also describes the emerging strategy to make teaching methodology in management education more vibrant and in sync with the changes in the business and economic environment

A detailed analysis of structure growth in f(R)f(R) theories of gravity

We investigate the connection between dark energy and fourth order gravity by analyzing the behavior of scalar perturbations around a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker background. The evolution equations for scalar perturbation are derived using the covariant and gauge invariant approach and applied to two widely studied f(R)f(R) gravity models. The structure of the general fourth order perturbation equations and the analysis of scalar perturbations lead to the discovery of a characteristic signature of fourth order gravity in the matter power spectrum, the details of which have not seen before in other works in this area. This could provide a crucial test for fourth order gravity on cosmological scales.Comment: 27 pages and 35 figure

The cosmological gravitational wave background from primordial density perturbations

    Get PDF
We discuss the gravitational wave background generated by primordial density perturbations evolving during the radiation era. At second-order in a perturbative expansion, density fluctuations produce gravitational waves. We calculate the power spectra of gravitational waves from this mechanism, and show that, in principle, future gravitational wave detectors could be used to constrain the primordial power spectrum on scales vastly different from those currently being probed by large-scale structure. As examples we compute the gravitational wave background generated by both a power-law spectrum on all scales, and a delta-function power spectrum on a single scale.Comment: 8 Page

Magnetic and transport properties of Pr2Pt3Si5

We have investigated the magnetic and transport properties of a polycrystalline Pr2Pt3Si5 sample through the dc and ac magnetic susceptibilities, electrical resistivity, and specific heat measurements. The Rietveld refinement of the powder X-ray diffraction data reveals that Pr2Pt3Si5 crystallizes in the U2Co3Si5-type orthorhombic structure (space group Ibam). Both the dc and ac magnetic susceptibility data measured at low fields exhibit sharp anomaly near 15 K. In contrast, the specific heat data exhibit only a broad anomaly implying no long range magnetic order down to 2 K. The broad Schottky-type anomaly in low temperature specific heat data is interpreted in terms of crystal electric field (CEF) effect, and a CEF-split singlet ground state is inferred. The absence of the long range order is attributed to the presence of nonmagnetic singlet ground state of the Pr3+ ion. The electrical resistivity data exhibit metallic behavior and are well described by the Bloch-Gr\"uniesen-Mott relation.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figure

Secure Message Dissemination with QoS Guaranteed Routing in Internet of Vehicles

    Get PDF
Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a variant of vehicular adhoc network (VANET) where vehicles can communicate with other vehicles, infrastructure devices, parking lots and even pedestrians.  Communication to other entities is facilitates through various services like DSRC, C2C-CC. Fake messages can be propagated by attackers for various selfish needs. Complex authentication procedures can affect the propagation of emergency messages. Thus a light weight mechanism to ensure the trust of messages without affecting the delivery deadlines for emergency messages. Addressing this problem, this work proposes a clustering based network topology for IoV where routing is optimized for message dissemination of various classes using hybrid meta-heuristics.  In addition, two stage message authentication technique combining collaborative authentication with Bayesian filtering is proposed to verify the authenticity of message. Through simulation analysis, the proposed solution is found to detect fake messages with an accuracy of 96% with 10% lower processing delay compared to existing works
