Mestrado em Estudos EditoriaisTendo como base os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do Mestrado em Estudos Editoriais, o presente trabalho propõe apresentar o Grupo Editorial LeYa, nomeadamente a Texto Editores Adultos, e relatar criticamente as actividades que nela desenvolvi no âmbito do Estágio curricular enquadrado no Mestrado em Estudos Editoriais, que decorreu de Outubro de 2009 a Abril de 2010.Based on the knowledge acquired during the Masters in Publishing, this report intends to introduce Grupo Editorial LeYa, namely Texto Editores Adultos, and analyze critically the activities that I performed in this publishing house during the curricular internship of six months, from October 2009 to April 2010

Professional development for cultural diversity: the challenges of teacher learning in context

This article describes context-based professional development (PD) for cultural diversity in a Portuguese school cluster, and discusses how it supports change for justice and equity. Teachers felt the importance of PD and showed willingness and interest to learn. Several teacher learning opportunities were mapped out such as formal workshops, starting small collaborations and teachers’ self-directed informal learning activities. Yet, a rather fragmented character of PD seemed to emerge in terms of content on cultural diversity and forms of learning. Conflicting agendas, scattered teacher collaboration and commitment, and little student and community involvement in planned PD were found. Furthermore, there seemed to be tensions between current PD and teachers’ needs and circumstances; teachers wished for more specific information and pedagogical solutions, more collaboration and more organisational support in PD. Applying a critical multicultural perspective, it is discussed that although the current constellation of PD is a potential start, it might still contribute to teachers’ conceptual confusion and pedagogical insecurities on the field of cultural diversity. It is suggested that criticality towards PD frames is needed to re-centre cultural diversity on the premises of justice, as well as teacher support, and conscious learning with and from students, families and communities.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Multiplexagem espetral de códigos QR

Mestrado em Engenharia FísicaEste trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a multiplexagem espetral de códigos QR, de forma a aumentar a capacidade de armazenar informação recorrendo a materiais híbridos orgânicos-inorgânicos luminescentes. Os códigos QR multiplexados foram estudados com exposição à luz ambiente e com excitação UV de forma a excitar a emissão dos materiais luminescentes. Foram, depois, estudadas as componentes de cor no sistema RGB de cada um dos códigos QR, de forma a desmultiplexar e, assim, obter os códigos QR originais. Demonstrou-se ser possível duplicar a capacidade de armazenar a informação num código QR sem alterar as suas dimensões físicas, usando multiplexagem espetral e materiais híbridos orgânicos-inorgânicos luminescentes. Com o intuito de dar aos códigos QR uma nova aplicação como sensores de temperatura, foram testados códigos QR como termómetros luminescentes. Para tal, os códigos QR foram impressos em polimetilmetacrilato, e revestidos com nanopartículas inorgânicas Y2O3:Eu3+ e o híbridos orgânicos-inorgânicos dopados com Eu3+/Tb3+. Desta maneira, foi possível testar dois tipos de termómetros luminescentes, respetivamente, um primário através do estudo do parâmetro termométrico e um secundário através do cálculo das coordenadas de cor de emissão. Demonstrou-se a possibilidade de os códigos QR medirem temperatura usando a termometria óticaThis work goal was to study the spectral multiplexing of QR codes with the purpose of increasing the storage capacity of information using luminescent organic-inorganic hybrid materials. The multiplexed QR codes were studied with exposure to ambient light and with UV excitation in order to excite the luminescent materials. Then the colour components in the RGB system of each QR codes were studied in order to demultiplex and finally obtain the original QR codes. It was demonstrated that it is possible to increase twice the storage capacity of information in a QR code without changing its physical dimensions, using spectral multiplexing and luminescent organic-inorganic hybrid materials In order to give the QR codes a new application such as temperature sensors QR codes were tested as luminescent thermometers. For this, the QR codes were printed on polymethylmethacrylate and they coated with inorganic nanoparticles Y2O3:Eu3+ and with organic-inorganic hybrid materials doped with Eu3+/Tb3+. By this way it was possible to test two types of luminescent thermometers, a primary through the study of the thermometric parameter and a secondary one through the calculation of the emission color coordinates, respectively. Vinculação em famílias de acolhimento : contributo para a compreensão de conhecimentos e práticas profissionais

O conhecimento dos técnicos sobre a temática da vinculação tem implicações na sua atuação junto das famílias de acolhimento. Desta forma, este estudo tem como objetivo perceber o conhecimento científico dos técnicos do Acolhimento Residencial sobre a temática da vinculação e as implicações em termos da sua atuação junto das famílias de acolhimento. O estudo enquadra-se na metodologia qualitativa. Foram realizadas, com um guião de entrevista semiestruturado, quatro entrevistas, com técnicos de diferentes áreas de formação, a exercer funções numa casa de acolhimento. Os resultados realçam a ambivalência sobre as perceções sobre a medida do acolhimento familiar e sobre as perceções da temática da vinculação na medida do acolhimento familiar, assim como, a dificuldade dos técnicos em refletir sobre temas que considerem importantes abordar durante sessões de formação com as famílias de acolhimento. Como implicações sugere-se o desenvolvimento de ações para técnicos e para famílias de acolhimento que promovam a reflexão sobre a importância de desenvolver condições estáveis e seguras para as crianças que integram medidas de acolhimento.The knowledge of the technicians on the theme of the bonding has implications in its work with the foster families. In this way, this study aims to understand the scientific knowledge of the Residential Reception Technicians about the theme of the bonding and the implications in terms of their work with the foster families. The study is in accordance with the qualitative methodology. Four interviews were conducted with a semi-structured interview script, with technicians from different training areas, to perform functions in a foster home. The results highlight the ambivalence about the perceptions of the measure of the family's reception and about the perceptions of the theme of the bonding in the measure of the family reception, as well as the difficulty of the technicians in reflecting on subjects that they consider important to approach during sessions of training with the foster families. As implications, it is suggested the development of actions for technicians and for foster families that promote the reflection on the importance of developing stable and safe conditions for the children that integrate measures of reception

Entrepreneurial Orientation and Dynamic Capabilities

Currently, small and medium enterprises that are family businesses (SMEFs) assume an important role in the global economy. Further, innovation and flexibility became vital to firms’ survival and prosperity in the market during these volatile times. Firms should not only possess critical resources, but also be able to recombine them. Characterized by resource restrictions, SMEFs can rely on dynamic capabilities to access resources and be competitive in the market. In this regard, networking capabilities (NC) and resource combinations (RC) such as exploitative and explorative product development and on market-related capabilities emerge as key dynamic capabilities. This chapter examines the role of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) on NC and RC. Todas as línguas na aula de línguas: materiais pedagógicos para os 2º, 3º Ciclos do Ensino Básico e Ensino Secundário

Explorar a diversidade linguística nas práticas curriculares assume-se como um caminho a percorrer por dois motivos fundamentais: por um lado, a crescente mobilidade humana; por outro, a necessidade de preparação para uma comunicação global, preocupação inscrita nas recomendações do Conselho da Europa (2001), traduzidas no Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência para as Línguas. Neste sentido, importa apostar na promoção do plurilinguismo como valor e como competência (Beacco & Byram, 2003). Assim, valorizar o plurilinguismo passa sobretudo pela integração da diversidade linguística no currículo, integração que não pode fazer-se através de uma simplificação ou de uma limitação do seu valor e riqueza. A valorização da diversidade linguística presente na escola não deverá, pois, ser esgotada em festas ocasionais celebrando e divulgando línguas e culturas diferentes da portuguesa, ou apenas através da oferta de mais línguas estrangeiras numa perspectiva aditiva de currículo. Por conseguinte, a tarefa do Educador em Línguas passa por promover, de forma integrada e sistemática, espaços de contacto plurilingue e intercultural onde o aluno possa desenvolver a sua competência plurilingue, rentabilizando e alargando o seu repertório linguístico-comunicativo e de aprendizagem. O Atelier que nos propomos dinamizar terá como principal objectivo proporcionar aos docentes o contacto com materiais pedagógicos que consubstanciam propostas e possibilidades de resposta aos desafios acima identificados. Assim, o Atelier estará organizado em dois momentos. No primeiro momento, os participantes terão a possibilidade de contactar e analisar materiais e propostas de actividades plurilingues de diferente natureza. No segundo momento, promover-se-á a interacção entre os participantes visando uma reflexão sobre as possibilidades e constrangimentos da utilização deste tipo de materiais para o desenvolvimento da competência plurilingue e intercultural, indo ao encontro das mais recentes orientações para o ensino das línguas

Línguas e educação: práticas e percursos de trabalho colaborativo. Perspectivas a partir de um projecto

Esta publicação, que reúne textos de professores de diferentes níveis de ensino, investigadores e formadores na área da educação em línguas, não teria sido possível sem o contributo de todos aqueles que acreditaram no projecto Línguas e Educação: construir e partilhar a formação, projecto que desde 2006 ocupou o trabalho de muitos que hoje aqui têm voz. Valoriza-se aqui o empenho da equipa que deu corpo a este projecto. (...
