Can the 750-GeV diphoton resonance be the singlet Higgs boson of custodial Higgs triplet model?
The observation of diphoton excess around the mass of 750 GeV in LHC Run-II
motivates us to consider whether the singlet Higgs boson in the custodial Higgs
triplet model can serve as a good candidate because an earlier study of
comprehensive parameter scan shows that it can have the right mass in the
viable mass spectra. By assuming the singlet Higgs mass at 750 GeV, its total
width less than 50 GeV and imposing constraints from the LHC 8-TeV data, we
identify an approximately linear region on the plane along
which the exotic Higgs boson masses satisfy a specific hierarchy and have lower
possible spectra, where denotes the triplet vacuum expectation value
and is the mixing angle between the singlet Higgs boson and the
standard model-like Higgs boson. Although the diphoton decay rate can be
enhanced by charged Higgs bosons running in the loop in this region, it is
mostly orders of magnitude smaller than that required for the observed
production rate, except for the small region when the diphoton
fusion production mechanism becomes dominant. Nonetheless, this part of
parameter space suffers from the problems of breakdown of perturbativity and
large uncertainties in the photon parton distribution function of proton.Comment: 14 pages, 2 figures, and 2 tables; bugs in numerical calculations

Quasi-Whittaker modules for the Schr\"odinger algebra
In this paper, we construct a new class of modules for the Schr\"{o}dinger
algebra \mS, called quasi-Whittaker module. Different from \cite{[ZC]}, the
quasi-Whittaker module is not induced by the Borel subalgebra of the
Schr\"{o}dinger algebra related with the triangular decomposition, but its
Heisenberg subalgebra \mH. We prove that, for a simple \mS-module ,
is a quasi-Whittaker module if and only if is a locally finite
\mH-module; Furthermore, we classify the simple quasi-Whittaker modules by
the elements with the action similar to the center elements in U(\mS) and
their quasi-Whittaker vectors. Finally, we characterize arbitrary
quasi-Whittaker modules.Comment: 17 page
THE TECHNOLOGY FORECASTING OF NEW MATERIALS: THE EXAMPLE OF NANOSIZED CERAMIC POWDERS
New materials have been recognized as significant drivers for corporate growth and profitability in today’s fast changing environments. The nanosized ceramic powders played important parts in new materials field nowadays. However, little has been done in discussing the technology forecasting for the new materials development. Accordingly, this study applied the growth curve method to investigate the technology performances of nanosized ceramic powders. We adopted the bibliometric analysis through EI database and trademark office (USPTO) database to gain the useful data for this work. The effort resulted in nanosized ceramic powders were all in the initial growth periods of technological life cycles. The technology performances of nanosized ceramic powders through the EI and USPTO databases were similar and verified by each other. And there were parts of substitutions between traditional and nanosized ceramic powders. The bibliometric analysis was proposed as the simple and efficient tools to link the science and technology activities, and to obtain quantitative and historical data for helping researchers in technology forecasting, especially in rare historical data available fields, such as the new materials fields.new materials, bibliometric analysis, technology forecasting.
