The study recommended that it is necessary for the researchers in the field of the fine arts to deep in studying the philosophy, view and ways of the pioneers of the Egyptian artists, also how they treat with the elements and foundation of the art with self-view and identification mixed with the foundations and bases of the modern art to benefit from that in the different fields of the fine arts and the designing
The relation between of insulin like growth factor II and endometrial carcinoma
Background: Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy in the United States and the fourth most common cancer in women. The need of a soft marker that can be used with CA-125 tumor marker for early detection of endometrial cancer and to predict late stages and advanced histopathological grades and to specify the cases who will be managed by complete surgical staging including para aortic and pelvic lymphadenectomy is of great importance. The aim of the study was to evaluate the role of insulin like growth factor 2 in endometrial carcinoma and to correlate it with different histopathological grades of the disease. Methods: This study was applied on sixty patients with abnormal uterine bleeding and were divided into two groups, Group A included 30 cases of endometrial carcinoma, while Group B included 30 cases complaining of abnormal vaginal bleeding due to other causes as a control group. Serum samples were taken from all patients and estimation of IGF-2 serum levels using ElISA technique was done. Comparison of IGF-2 serum level between both groups and correlation of its levels with different histopathological grades of endometrial cancer group were done. Results: As regard comparison between both groups and ILGF2 serum level, study results demonstrated that ILGF2 levels ranged between 600.0-1440.0 ng/ml and 40.0-560.0 ng/ml with the mean of 781.33 ng/ml±196.45 and 336.0 ng/ml±212.86 for cases Group A and control Group B respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between the two studied groups regarding ILGF2 serum level (p<0.001). As regards correlation between histopathological grades and ILGF-2 serum level in cases Group A, the study revealed a strong positive correlation. Conclusions: ILGF-2 can be used as a serum marker for endometroid adenocarcinoma of the body of the uterus and to predict its higher histopathological grades

Titanium Particles Modulate Lymphocyte and Macrophage Polarization in Peri-Implant Gingival Tissues
Titanium dental implants are one of the modalities to replace missing teeth. The release of titanium particles from the implant’s surface may modulate the immune cells, resulting in implant failure. However, little is known about the immune microenvironment that plays a role in peri-implant inflammation as a consequence of titanium particles. In this study, the peri-implant gingival tissues were collected from patients with failed implants, successful implants and no implants, and then a whole transcriptome analysis was performed. The gene set enrichment analysis confirmed that macrophage M1/M2 polarization and lymphocyte proliferation were differentially expressed between the study groups. The functional clustering and pathway analysis of the differentially expressed genes between the failed implants and successful implants versus no implants revealed that the immune response pathways were the most common in both comparisons, implying the critical role of infiltrating immune cells in the peri-implant tissues. The H&E and IHC staining confirmed the presence of titanium particles and immune cells in the tissue samples, with an increase in the infiltration of lymphocytes and macrophages in the failed implant samples. The in vitro validation showed a significant increase in the level of IL-1β, IL-8 and IL-18 expression by macrophages. Our findings showed evidence that titanium particles modulate lymphocyte and macrophage polarization in peri-implant gingival tissues, which can help in the understanding of the imbalance in osteoblast–osteoclast activity and failure of dental implant osseointegration
Association of specific ACE2 and TMPRSS2 variants with circulatory cytokines of COVID-19 Emirati patients
IntroductionThe COVID-19 pandemic represented one of the most significant challenges to researchers and healthcare providers. Several factors determine the disease severity, whereas none alone can explain the tremendous variability. The Single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE2) and transmembrane serine protease type-2 (TMPRSS2) genes affect the virus entry and are considered possible risk factors for COVID-19.MethodsWe compiled a panel of gene variants from both genes and used in-silico analysis to predict their significance. We performed biological validation to assess their capacity to alter the ACE2 interaction with the virus spike protein. Subsequently, we conducted a retrospective comparative genome analysis on those variants in the Emirati patients with different disease severity (total of 96) along with 69 healthy control subjects.ResultsOur results showed that the Emirati population lacks the variants that were previously reported as associated with disease severity, whereas a new variant in ACE2 “Chr X:g.15584534” was associated with disease severity specifically among female patients. In-silico analysis revealed that the new variant can determine the ACE2 gene transcription. Several cytokines (GM-CSF and IL-6) and chemokines (MCP-1/CCL2, IL-8/CXCL8, and IP-10/CXCL10) were markedly increased in COVID-19 patients with a significant correlation with disease severity. The newly reported genetic variant of ACE2 showed a positive correlation with CD40L, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-15, and IL-17A in COVID-19 patients.ConclusionWhereas COVID-19 represents now a past pandemic, our study underscores the importance of genetic factors specific to a population, which can influence both the susceptibility to viral infections and the level of severity; subsequently expected required preparedness in different areas of the world

Periumbilical ultrasonic-guided saline infusion technique (PUGSI): A step for safer laparoscopy in high risk patients for adhesions
Objective: To validate the technique of PUGSI in high risk patients for adhesions during laparoscopy.
Design: Prospective study on PUGSI to predict obliterated subumbilical adhesions.
Setting: El-Shatby Maternity Hospital, Alexandria University.
Patients: Sixty women with risk factors for intraabdominal adhesions.
Interventions: Preoperative examination with PUGSI.
Results: The prevalence of obliterated subumbilical adhesions was 26.7%. Abnormal PUGSI was detected among 18 patients, of these, 15 patients were diagnosed at the time of laparoscopy to have obliterated subumbilical adhesions (9 patients with omental and 6 patients with bowel adhesions). PUGSI had a diagnostic accuracy of 93.3%, a sensitivity of 93.8%, a specificity of 93.2%, a positive predictive value (PPV) of 83.3% and a negative predictive value (NPV) of 97.6%.
Conclusion: PUGSI can accurately predict obliterated subumbilical adhesions prior to laparoscopy in patients at high risk of visceral injury. Widespread application of this technique may decrease trocar-related injuries during laparoscopic access
Prediction of endometriosis by transvaginal ultrasound in reproductive-age women with normal ovarian size
Objective: To predict endometriosis by transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) in reproductive-age women with normal ovarian size.
Design: Prospective study.
Setting: El-Shatby Maternity Hospital, Alexandria University.
Patients: 125 Women with symptoms suggestive of endometriosis and with normal ovarian size during TVS.
Interventions: Patients were subjected to high frequency ultrasound and evaluated for the presence of ultrasound signs of endometriosis (TVS-based soft markers). All patients had laparoscopy (gold standard) immediately after TVS for documentation of the presence of endometriosis.
Main outcome measures: Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV) and diagnostic accuracy of TVS and of the TVS-based soft markers in diagnosing endometriosis.
Results: Endometriosis was confirmed laparoscopicaly in 68/125 patients (54.4%). The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and diagnostic accuracy of TVS in diagnosing endometriosis were 85.3%, 80.7%, 84.1%, 82.1% and 83.2%, respectively. Six TVS-based soft markers showed significant association (P < 0.05) with endometriosis (ovaries not at the same level, high left ovary, ovarian fixation to uterus, tender ultrasound, ovarian fixation to iliac vessels and non visualization of left ovary) with sensitivities of 85.3%, 80.9%, 80.9%, 66.2%, 55.9% and 55.9%, respectively. These markers could be considered as positive soft markers to predict endometriosis. The addition of these soft markers could improve the sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and diagnostic accuracy to 97.3%, 98.5%, 95.7%, 89.9% and 91.2%, respectively.
Conclusion: TVS appears to be a useful imaging method for the prediction of endometriosis. The inclusion of TVS-based positive soft markers either alone or in combination improves our ability to predict endometriosis
