    Foodomics of bioactive compounds from tropical fruits by-products

    Tropical fruit by-products can be considered a reservoir of bioactive substances with promising benefits on human's health. In recent years, the recovery of bioactive compounds from agro-food by-products is an emerging trend in food science that largely contributes to the valorization of food industrial processing generated wastes. In this chapter, a general overview about the potential of tropical fruits by-products as sources of bioactive compounds will be provided under a Foodomics perspective. The integration of advanced extraction procedures, along with multi-analytical and multi-omics platforms for the development of tropical fruit by-products valorization strategies are reviewed in this chapter.Peer reviewe
