As always, we first give thanks. Thank You for giving us a way to speak for those who elected us to act on their behalf. Thank You for the gift of passion as well as compassion. We thank You today, not only for our ability to advocate, but we also thank You for our ability to listen. I’m often reminded that God saw fit to give us one mouth to speak. However, He gave us not one, but two ears so that we might listen twice as much as we speak. Lord, we pray that Your divine wisdom in Proverbs 11:14 resonates with us on this 100th day of the legislative session—wherein You tell us—“Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.” Our God, bless us that we might use the tools You have given us to seek wisdom with our hearts and minds, but also to seek wisdom by listening to wise guidance.
