La Polis y la explotación ganadera en los santuarios griego

A partir del análisis de las reglamentaciones que reglan la vida de los\ud santuarios griegos, se intenta reconstruir los aspectos de la economía pastoril\ud relacionados directamente con ellos. Son objeto de estudio las condiciones de\ud aprovechamiento de los pastizales, de los bosques, árboles y aguas dentro de las\ud propiedades sagradas, la utilización de los abonos de origen animal, así como las\ud distintas noticias sobre los tipos de animales empleados en los sacrificios y su\ud procedencia.Starting from the analysis of the regulations which ruled the life in the\ud Greek sanctuaries, we try to rebuild the grazing economy aspects directly related\ud to them. Normal delivery care in public hospitals of the Balearic Islands. Compliance with the recommendations of the Strategy for Attending Normal Births in the Spanish National Health System

L’Estratègia d’atenció al part normal en el Sistema Nacional de Salut publicada pel Ministeri de Sanitat i Consum, l’any 2007, recull indicadors quantitatius i qualitatius, per tal d’establir la qualitat de la pràctica cínica en l’atenció al part. Objectiu: conèixer el grau de compliment de les recomanacions sobre la pràctica clínica que planteja l’Estratègia, als centres hospitalaris públics de les Illes Balears. Mètodes: estudi descriptiu transversal realitzat a partir de la informació del CMBD dels anys 2012 a 2014, aportat pel Servei de Salut de les Illes Balears. Les variables quantitatives inclouen: cesàries, parts instrumentats, episiotomia i epidurals. L’anàlisi d’aquestes dades s’ha fet per hospitals i anys. La informació qualitativa es refereix a l’existència de protocols que inclouen recomanacions sobre: rasurat perineal, ús d’ènema, acompanyament durant el procés, període de dilatació, maneig del dolor, posició materna durant l’expulsiu, contacte precoç mare-nounat/da i atenció postnatal immediata. Resultats: s’han recollit un total de 21.509 parts dels quals 68,5% eutòcics, 9,9% instrumentats i 21,6% cesàries, les quals van en augment. Les epidurals en parts eutòcics representaren el 59,1% i les episiotomies 18,5%. Existeix una amplia variabilitat dels indicadors quantitatius entre hospitals. La majoria d’hospitals tenen protocols d’atenció al part normal i aquests de manera més o menys exacte recullen bona part de les recomanacions de l’Estratègia, tot i que no sempre segueixen l’estructura proposada per aquesta. Conclusions: Els resultats publicats estan en consonància amb els publicats en altres comunitats. La gran variabilitat i la distancia amb les recomanacions permet afirmar que hi ha marge de millora en la estandardització de les pràctiques i dels protocols que la sustenten.The Strategy for Attending Normal Births in the Spanish National Health System (2007) establish quality indicators to evaluate clinical practice at the delivery rooms. Objective: To determine the degree of compliance with clinical practice indicators proposed by the Strategy, in the Balearic Islands hospitals. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study by Configuration Management Database (CMDB) information of the Balearic Islands Health Service from 2012 to 2014. Number of caesarean operations, instrumental delivery, episiotomy and epidural anaesthesia. The data analysis has been done per hospital per years. We also revised the hospital protocols refers to the adequacy of the recommendations on: perineal shaving, enema use, support during the process, second stage of the delivery period, pain management, maternal position, early mother-infant contact and immediate postnatal attention. Results: A total of 21.509 births were collected, 68.5% normal births, 9.9% instrumental births and 21.6% caesarean births, there were an increase in the caesarean birth from 2012 to 2014. Epidural anaesthesia in normal vaginal deliveries represents 59.1% and episiotomies 18.5%. There is a wide variability of recommendation for attending a normal birth between hospitals. Most hospitals developed normal delivery care protocols and those collect most of the Strategy recommendations, although not always following the structure that has been proposed by the Strategy. Conclusions: Our results are in accordance with those published in other communities. There is a great variability in clinical practice indicators and delivery care protocols, and therefore there is still room for improvement in the standardization of practices and protocols that support it

Regeneration of plants from somatic embryos of Verticillium dahliae-resistant wild olive genotypes

Regeneration capacity, via somatic embryogenesis, of several wild olive genotypes differing in their response to Verticillium wilt (resistant genotypes Stop Vert, Out Vert, Ac4 and Ac 18 and the susceptible Ac 15) has been evaluated. To induce somatic embryogenesis, methodologies previously used in cultivated (high ratio cytokinin/auxin) or wild olive (low ratio cytokinin/auxin) were used. Obtained results revealed the importance of genotype, explant type, mineral formulation and hormonal balance in the induction process, ca. use of apical buds obtained from micropropagated shoots following the methodology of Mazri et al. (2013) in cultivated olive (4 days in liquid medium MS ½, 30 µM TDZ – 0.54 µM ANA, 8 weeks in basal medium MS ½, followed by subculturing in ECO basal medium supplemented with 0.5 µM 2iP, 0.44 µM BA and 0.25 µM IBA) was adequate to obtain somatic embryos in 2 genotypes, Stop Vert and Ac18, but no embryogenic response was observed in the other three. An analysis of genetic stability on Stop Vert, using SSR and RAPDs markers, was carried out in embryogenic callus, plants regenerated form this callus and micropropagated shoots in comparison with the mother plant. Polymorphism was only observed in the banding pattern generated by RAPDs in one of the 10 callus samples evaluated, resulting in a variation rate of 0.07%. Measuring Equity Volatility: the case of Chilean Stock Index

This paper reviews the traditional ways to measure volatility which are based only on closing prices, and introduces alternative measurements suggested in Parkinson (1980), Garman and Klass (1980), and Rogers and Satchell (1991). Those measurements use additional information of prices throughout the day, which makes them more efficient than the traditional ones. We consider this property relevant for financial stress episodies, when traditional measurements fail. In an empirical application for the Chilean stock market, we confirm the theoretical results and provide an index of price volatility based on daily highs and lows.

Feminist Rewritings of “Bluebeard”: Angela Carter’s “The Bloody Chamber” and Nalo Hopkinson’s “The Glass Bottle Trick”.

Mi disertación se basa en el análisis de dos versiones de “Barba Azul”, dos reescrituras que ofrecen una perspectiva feminista y una versión de la historia de “Barba Azul”, que reflejan, en cada caso, lo que significó el feminismo para cada autora en el momento de su escritura. En el caso de Angela Carter, con su obra “La cámara sangrienta” se involucra en la lucha feminista para desacreditar los roles de género tradicionalmente asignados a las mujeres. Por otro lado, “El truco de la botella de vidrio” de Nalo Hopkinson, da un paso más en sintonía con el desarrollo que tuvo el feminismo con su tercera ola y posteriores, puesto que refleja preocupaciones feministas mas amplias como la discriminación racial, contando ya con las abarcadas por Carter.<br /
