Role of tradtional food in tourist destination image building: Example of the city of Mostar
The existence of tourist offer varieties does not imply the existence of high-quality approach to and management of a tourist destination, nor a quality development of tourist products, which is the case of the City of Mostar. Despite the existing potential, it is necessary to invest a lot of effort and mobilize several players in order to build a modern and attractive tourist destination, integrate the existing and develop new tourist products and develop the City brand. In the context of holistic approach to tourism development in the City of Mostar and its image building, it is necessary to look into the role of indigenous traditional products that can have a significant impact on the overall effects of tourist offer. The goal of the paper is to present an innovative approach to building a modern brand and tourist product of the City of Mostar, as a unique tourist destination that is founded on authentic, traditional products and the way of life. The paper is based on the research conducted in 2010 through in-depth interviews with players involved in tourism development and players in the tourism industry
Ranking of EU national banking systems using multi-criteria analysis in the light of Brexit
In order to define and implement the most effective measures to overcome the difficulties of the post-crisis period, the policy-makers of ECB must identify not just main weaknesses of each banking system, but their strong points also. This requires the application of multi-criteria analysis, considering that policy-makers need to take into account a number of different aspects that, on the whole, indicate the quality of the banking system. Our aim is a comparative analysis of European banking systems right after the Brexit moment and within the framework of the tight new Basel III regulations. In this paper, we have ranked the banking systems of the 28 EU member states using multi-criteria analysis, specifically the PROMETHEE II method. The use of the PROMETHEE II method in combination with the entropy method offers a comprehensive insight into the banking system of each member state, given that the observed countries are ranked according to 9 conflicting criteria that are mostly used in banking system analysis. Our analysis shows that the banking systems in Central and Eastern Europe are the best performers, while the EMU’s developed banking systems such as the German, Italian, British, and French one are positioned among the last ranked. The Portuguese and Greek banking systems are, as expected, ranked in the last positions in our list. The obtained results also pointed out that the ECB should change its approach to the management and further development of a European Banking Union
The education of employees as a motivation factor in the management of clinical center of Serbia
© 2020, University of Kragujevac, Faculty of Science. All rights reserved. With more than seven thousand employees, KCS is the largest provider of health services in Serbia and one of the largest in Europe, which has more than one million patients per year. The aim of the research is to determine the assessment of employee satisfaction by various factors of motivation, various education programs at the Clinical Center of Serbia, which to some extent contribute to motivation in the workplace. This cross-sectional randomized descriptive study was performed from April 1st to 30th 2016, and included 151 health care professionals in Clinical Center of Serbia. Study included employees both gender and various years old, with different qualificantion and formal education. The anonymous survey about motivation of emplyoeers covered a total of 15 questions with responses (questions of closed type). Based on our results, we can conclude that despite subjectivism attributed to the survey as a method of research, in this case, we got a result that fairly objectively shows the situation in the Clinical Center of Serbia. From all of the above, we can conclude that the organizational culture is not weak in the Clinical Center of Serbia, but certainly it is necessary to work on strengthening its strength, which can be connected with the insufficient development of organizational culture as a scientific discipline in the academic community in Serbia
Uticaj termičkog tretmana na higijenski kvalitet mleka
In the conducted study, the influence of the pasteurization and sterilization regime on the hygienic quality of raw and thermally treated milk was analyzed. Tests were conducted in the dairy "MEGGLE Srbija, doo" in Kragujevac. The following methods of thermal treatment were applied: short-term HTST pasteurization of raw milk at 75ºC, high HTST pasteurization of raw milk at 95ºC and flow-through UHT sterilization at 139ºC of previously pasteurized milk at 75ºC. The efficiency of thermal treatments on the hygienic quality of milk was determined by the following microbiological analyzes: by determining the total number of bacteria by the indirect method by Koch and by the internal analysis method applied in the dairy "MEGGLE Srbija, doo". Based on the tests carried out, a significant reduction in the number of bacteria after the pasteurization process of milk samples and their complete inhibition after the sterilization process was determined.U sprovedenom ispitivanju analiziran je uticaj režima pasterizacije i sterilizacije na higijenski kvalitetet sirovog i termički tretiranog mleka.
Performance Analysis of Industrial Cooperative Communication System in Generalized Fading Environment
This paper considers the performance analysis of M-ary phase shift keying industrial cooperative relaying system in Nakagami-m multipath fading channel with Gamma shadowing, which is known as the Generalized-K composite fading channel. Since the paper deals with the industrial environment, the communication channel is also affected by the additive Middleton\u27s Class-A impulsive noise. The bit error rate is used as a performance measure and the closed-form average bit error rate expression was derived. The influence of different fading and noise parameters on the system performance is investigated. The obtained results may be used for the improvement of the present and future industrial wireless communication systems
This study aims at verifying the effects of short- and long-term rehabilitation on the outcome of encephalic vascular accident (EVA) in women older than 65 years; establishing the correlation between the impact of the neurological deficit severity on the prediction of the rehabilitation treatment outcome as well as investigating the possibility of the follow-up of individual parameters at the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) when predicting the EVA rehabilitation outcome. The EVA is currently the third major cause of death in the world’s population, as well as the main cause of permanent disability. In the present scenario, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which used to be observed almost exclusively in the male population, now affect the female population as well. On the other hand, we observe a linear correlation between aging and the occurrence of these diseases. We conclude that the implementation of early rehabilitation leads to a significant acceleration in the treatment and recovery process post-EVA in women older than 65 years. We also conclude that certain FIM parameters can be used to predict the patient’s overall recovery, as they present the same evolution pattern
High frequency of the R75Q CFTR variation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
AbstractWe performed the complete screening of the CFTR gene in a group of 31 patients with COPD in order to investigate the impact of mutations and polymorphisms in the CFTR gene. The cumulative frequency of CFTR mutations (17.74%) was significantly higher than in our general population (P<0.0001). The R75Q was significantly overrepresented in COPD patients (8.06%; P=0.002). In all patients carrying the R75Q chronic bronchitis was a dominant symptom of COPD, and all were homozygous for the V470 allele. These findings suggest that R75Q mutation could be characteristic CFTR variant for COPD patients
