Regulation of shadow banking in European Union law

Namen tega magistrskega diplomskega dela je predstaviti tveganja, ki izhajajo iz bančništva v senci ter preveriti, ali so v pravu EU v celoti urejena. Prepoznana so sistemska tveganja bančništva v senci – beg iz finančnih institucij in/ali nelikvidnost, povezanost z reguliranim delom finančnega sistema, čezmeren finančni vzvod, procikličnost in nepreglednost. Zakonodajni predlogi Evropske komisije ter sprejeti zakonodajni akti kažejo, da je v pravu EU zavzet regulatorni pristop z ex ante omejitvami. Z vidika sistemskih tveganj so prikazani relevantni predpisi za kreditne institucije, investicijska podjetja, zavarovalnice in pozavarovalnice, investicijske sklade ter druge finančne institucije. Iz dela izhaja spoznanje, da je kljub nekaterim odprtim vprašanjem težko govoriti o bančništvu v senci kot pojavu, ki ne bil reguliran udeleženim subjektom in izvajanim dejavnostim primerno.The aim of this Master thesis is to identify risks associated with shadow banking and to verify whether they are fully regulated in EU law. The recognized shadow banking systemic risks are runs on financial institutions and/or illiquidity, interconnectedness with the regulated part of the financial system, excessive leverage, procyclicality and opacity. The European Commission`s legislative proposals and adopted legislative acts unveil that in EU law a regulatory approach with ex ante restrictions is embraced. The relevant regulation concerning credit institutions, investment firms, insurance and reinsurance companies, investment funds and other financial institutions is presented from the systemic risk view point. The thesis suggests that despite of certain open questions it may be hard to argue that shadow banking is a phenomenon not adequately regulated in respect of encompassed entities and performed activities

Ženski identitet u Gospođici Ive Andrića (između spola i roda) naslov je završnoga rada kojemu će glavni cilj biti određivanje ženskih identiteta u Andrićevu romanu Gospođica i to ponajprije glavnoga ženskoga lika te njezina antagonista. Osim određenja identiteta uspostavit će se i odnos obiteljske hijerarhije između majke i kćeri. Utvrdit će se što se s tim odnosom događa i kako je on oblikovan i razvijen u djelu te kada dolazi do razvoja nestandardnog odnosa. Objasnit će se zašto spol i rod nisu istoznačnice, ali jesu bliskoznačnice i koji je od ta dva pojma nepromjenjiv. Utvrdit će se zašto sredina u tolikoj mjeri ima utjecaja na Rajku i koje su posljedice. Objasnit će se važnost sintagme stara djevojka i što ona predstavlja u društvu. Pojasnit će se razlika između pojmova gospođica i Gospođica, a osim pojašnjenja utvrdit će se kakve konotacije ti pojmovi imaju. Kao glavna posljedica u oblikovanju ženskog identiteta iznosi se defeminizacija Rajke kao posljedica životnih okolnosti. Textbooks of Croatian as the Second and Foreign Language for A1 Level

Otkako postoji potreba za učenjem hrvatskoga kao stranog jezika u skladu sa Zajedničkim europskim referentnim okvirom za jezike izdano je nekoliko priručnika za učenje hrvatskog kao stranog jezika za sve razine. Za A1 razinu postoji nekoliko udžbenika, gramatika i vježbenica koje nastavnici kao i učenici mogu koristiti za učenje hrvatskog kao stranog jezika. U diplomskom radu naglasak stavljamo na priručnike namijenjene A1 razini te na njihovu usklađenost sa ZEROJ-em. Osim ZEROJ-a kao glavne značajke proučavat će se kakvim se tekstovima autori koriste za usvajanje vokabulara, kojom vrstom zadataka se koriste, kolika je zastupljenost jezičnih sadržaja u udžbeniku i koliko su autori kulturološki nastojali obrazovati učenike. Сompetence-Oriented Control in Modern Linguistic and Educational Context

The problem of competence-oriented control in modern linguistic and educational context is considered. Special attention is paid to the competence approach as a conceptual one in updating of educational content. The projection of control oriented on the identification of level of formation of competences is proposed. The research relevance is determined by necessity of reforming the system of control of competences formation level planned for development. Kinetics, mechanism and inhibition of monoamine oxidase

Funding: EU COST Action CM1103.Monoamine oxidases (MAOs) catalyse the oxidation of neurotransmitter amines and a wide variety of primary, secondary and tertiary amine xenobiotics, including therapeutic drugs. While inhibition of MAO activity in the periphery removes protection from biogenic amines and so is undesirable, inhibition in the brain gives vital anti-depressant and behavioural advantages that make MAO a major pharmaceutical target for inhibitor design. In neurodegenerative diseases, MAO inhibitors can help maintain neurotransmitter levels, making it a common feature in novel multi-target combinations designed to combat Alzheimer’s disease, albeit not yet proven clinically. Vital information for inhibitor design comes from an understanding of the structure, mechanism and kinetics of the catalyst. This review will summarize the kinetic behaviour of MAO A and B and the kinetic evaluation of reversible inhibitors that transiently decrease catalysis. Kinetic parameters and crystal structures have enabled computational approaches to ligand discovery and validation of hits by docking. Kinetics and a wide variety of substrates and inhibitors along with theoretical modeling have also contributed to proposed schemes for the still debated chemical mechanism of amine oxidation, However, most of the marketed MAO drugs are long-lasting irreversible inactivators. The mechanism of irreversible inhibition by hydrazine, cyclopropylamine and propargylamine drugs will be discussed. The article finishes with some examples of the propargylamine moiety in multi-target ligand design to combat neurodegeneration.PostprintPeer reviewe

Governance in/of Cancer Care and Stewardship in Cancer Control: Creation of Definitions

In the literature in the field of cancer care, especially in the literature concerning national cancer control programmes, the terms governance and stewardship in/of cancer care are used, but usually not explained or defined. Therefore, we planned a systematic literature review in order to find the definitions of the terms governance and stewardship in/of cancer care. It was planned to create new definitions of the mentioned terms in case of unsuccessful finds. A literature review using PubMed, Google and MeSH as well as an opportunistic search for extra articles and chapters from books and grey literature was performed. Most of the found and analysed articles did not give exact explanation of the terms governance/stewardship in/of cancer care or they cited older articles (published before the year 2000) where the terms are used mostly in the field of clinical governance or in the completely other fileds, mostly banking, economy, religion or spirituality. Therefore, it was decided in the working group of experts from different European countries collaborating within in the work package Governance of integrated and comprehensive cancer care in the frame of the Innovative Partnership for the Action Against Cancer Joint Action project on cancer to create new definitions which we are presenting for the first time. The new definitions will facilitate the understanding of the leadership tasks in the area of cancer care and cancer control and will be particularly useful in the field of cancer programmes
