Association of miR-372 and miR-137 Expression with Metastasis in Patients with Lung Cancer
Introduction: Identification of metastatic miRNAs and understanding their complex functions provides prognostic and diagnostic bio markers In this study, the expression of miR-372, fgf-9 gene, miR-137 and cdc42 gene was evaluated in the serum of patients with lung cancer.Materials and Methods: In the present study, 50 serum samples were collected from healthy individuals and 50 serum samples from people with NSCLC from Masih Daneshvari Hospital in Tehran. Clinicopathological information was collected through questionnaires. In the molecular study, changes in expression of miR-372, miR-137, fgf-9 and cdc42 genes in healthy individuals and those with lung cancer were evaluated using Real Time PCR.Results: Expression of miR-372, fgf-9 and cdc42 genes in the first to third stage serum of metastases and expression of miR-137 in serum of the first and second stages of the disease were not significantly different from the normal one. However, in the serum of the fourth stage of the disease, expression of miR-372 and cdc42 gene were significantly increased by 7.3 and 3.4 folds than normal subjects, while in the serum of the fourth stage of the disease, the expression of fgf-9 gene was significantly reduced by 4.46 fold .The expression of miR-137 in the serum of the third and fourth stages of the disease was significantly reduced by 3.2 and 6.8 fold compared to the normal serumConclusion: It is likely that the expression of miR-372, miR-137, fgf-9 and cdc42 genes in human serum could be used to predict the stage of lung cancer metastasis
Gender and Age Differences in Marital Intimacy Levels among Iranian Married Couples in Malaysia
This study aimed to establish the differences in marital Intimacy based on gender and age variables. Subjects for this study were 257 married couples (131 females and 126 males aged 25 to 50 years) from 4 public university in Malaysia. The collecting data for the study were through the use of quantitative method. The instrument used was Personal Assessment of Intimacy in Relationships (PAIR) questionnaire to measure marital intimacy level and demographic form for collecting demographic data. The results illustrated the intimacy level of females was higher than men. Statistically, the male and female students significantly differed in their intimacy scores. Also, there is significant differences between Intimacy level and age among married couples. In addition, general age differences in intimacy demonstrated older couples has higher level of intimacy. Consequently, implications of the study give valuable insight to the future use of couple therapist in society. Family therapists can work with couples for nurturing their intimacy thereby control and handling couples conflicts by knowing about spouses differences based on Gender and age differences. Keywords: marital intimacy, gender, age, intimacy level, couple
Prioritisation of GPM activities from lean-agile-resilience perspective using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process
Green Project Management (GPM) involves a set of management actions to identify and evaluate the impact of activities on the environment and to control and improve performance. Accordingly, the concepts of lean, agility and resilience have a special place as driving forces because they can play an important role in improving the environment. Therefore, the present study is conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing GPM activities. They are introduced based on the principles of project management knowledge set and considering the concept of green. Then, by considering the concepts of resilience, agility and purity as research criteria using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP), activities are prioritized. This study has a pairwise comparison questionnaire that data are collected from construction industry experts. The incompatibility rate index is used to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. The results show that the five activities of GPM are identifying a team that can align the project with environmental policies. Development, documentation of the project charter, setting goals in the project charter, quality control, cost, planning, safety of environmental activities, and preparation of GPM programs, respectively, should be given more attention
