    Faculty Members Practice of 21st Century Skills in Teaching: A Perspective from Bisha University

    This study aims to identify the teaching practices of faculty staff members at the University of Bisha in light of twenty-first century skills. The descriptive method is used as it suits the research aims. The faculty staff members demonstrate a high level of teaching practices in light of twenty-first century skills, with life and occupation skills ranking first, learning and creativity skills ranking second, and digital culture skills ranking third. The results show statistically significant dissimilarities in learning and creativity skills and life and occupation skills between the teaching practices of faculty staff members in favor of the Faculty of Engineering, while the difference in digital culture skills favors the Faculty of Education. Additionally, there is a statistically significant difference in the teaching practices of faculty staff members in the light of twenty-first century skills attributable to the variable of teaching experience, favoring the category of (5-10 years)

    Biological Activity of CalotropisproceraGrown Under High Voltage Transmission Lines in Jeddah Province, Saudi Arabia

    ABSTRACT:Electromagnetic field (EMF) may cause biological changes to wild plants growing around or near the electricity towers. To evaluate this argument a field study was conducted at north Jeddah city during 2013-14. A number of plant species found in the study areas, but Calotropisprocera L. was selected for this study. Sampling was performed from four different towers for Electricity high-pressure transmission lines north Jeddah province, build at different years (1981, 1991, 2008, and 2013). Three places has been selected away from the tower, starting from the bottom of the tower for this study, zero m (under the tower), 50 m and 100 m away from centre. A control site was also chosen far from electricity towers and lines. Plant morphology (height, number of branches, shelter width and leaf area), physiological activity (intercellular CO2, transpiration rate, net photosynthesis rate and chlorophyll contents) and some ion content in soil and plant leaves were measured. The results show that the plant health was improved morphophysiologically at the center and older installations. Moreover by decreasing the distance from 100 m to 0 m, significant influence was found, it may be attributed to enhance exposure of electromagnetic field, as a consequence plant revealed some relief in terms of growth

    Introduction: Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) of the pancreas is rare, accounting for 0.13-2.7% of all pancreatic tumors. It has specific clinical, pathological and radiological characters that make it quite different from other pancreatic tumors.Presentation of case:  A 15-year-old girl with SPT of the pancreas diagnosed after surgical resection with histopathology and immunohistochemistry confirmation. As no clear role for adjuvant treatment, she was elected for follow up.Conclusion: Although SPT is a rare tumor without notable symptoms. Complete surgical excision is the treatment of choice. The place of chemotherapy or radiotherapy needed to be elucidated

    EFFECT OF CHLORIDE CONCENTRATION IN SOIL ON REINFORCEMENT CORROSION

    ABSTRACT This paper presents results of a study conducted to evaluate the effect of chloride concentration in soil on corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete. Concrete specimens prepared with Type I, Type V and silica fume cements were exposed to soil with a chloride concentration of up to 3%. The effect of chloride concentration in soil on corrosion of reinforcing steel was evaluated by measuring corrosion potentials and corrosion current density. After 18 months of exposure, the concrete specimens were broken and the extent of corrosion of the reinforcing steel was examined and the gravimetric weight loss due to corrosion was assessed. As expected, the degree of corrosion increased with the chloride concentration in the soil. The type of cement also influenced the reinforcement corrosion. For a particular chloride concentration, least reinforcement corrosion was noted in the silica fume cement concrete followed by Type I and Type V cement concrete. Based on the data developed in this study chloride threshold in soil for the three types of cements are suggested

    Recurrent scrotal Arteriovenous Malformation as a Slowly Increasing Left Testicular Swelling: A case report

    Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are benign vascular lesions. Although, the majority of AVMs occur in the central nervous system, there are published reports of AVMs involving all systems including the scrotum, kidney, and uterus. Herein we report a case of 37 years old male presented with recurrent gradual scrotal swelling for 4 years attributed to scrotal AVM. Embolization was done but one year later his symptoms reoccurred.
