The impact of social media use in collaborative learning towards learning performance among research students
The use of social media for active collaborative learning and engagement to affect learning performance seems to be one of the examined topics in Information Systems domain compared to other technology adoption. However, social media uses distraction from studies and affects study habits, thus, using social media results in academic difficulties. Research students seldom use social media for educational purposes, also they do not use it interactively for collaborative learning and academic purposes. Previous frameworks and models of social media use have many significant negative impacts on student engagement, collaborative learning and learning performance. Thus, this research aims to determine the interactive factors for active collaborative learning and engagement as well as perceptual factors, and social media use for active collaborative learning and engagement to affect learning performance. This study proposes a theoretical model based on the theory of constructivism and theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A mixed method quantitative and qualitative was used to conduct a survey and interview of samples at five public universities in Malaysia. Data were analysed using AMOS, SPSS and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to investigate causal and mediating relationships between variables. Findings of the research revealed that interaction among research students, and interaction with lecturers or supervisors enhance active collaborative learning and engagement were significant at 60% and 73% respectively. It also indicates that active collaborative learning and engagement which affect the learning performance of research students achieved significant ratio of 74%. In addition, perceived ease of use and usefulness define a person’s social media use for active collaborative learning and engagement that enhances satisfaction and affect the learning performance of research students were 71% and 74% respectively. It is found that perceived usefulness and satisfaction of research students are insignificant because some students use social media on social purposes not for educational purposes. Hence, it is important to raise awareness by the universities and lecturers for students to use social media as an active collaborative learning purpose as it will positively affect the learning performance of research students. Finally, the results indicate that the use of social media is significant for active collaborative learning and engagement which positively affect learning performance of research students of Malaysian Higher Education

Social media use, collaborative learning and students’ academic performance: a systematic literature review of theoretical models
This research provided a systematic literature review of theoretical models on interaction and collaborations regarding Information system (IS) and Information Technology (IT). This paper conducted an review of studies dedicated to (IS & IT) on the basis of certain dimensions namely, research theories, review of constructivist theories, definitions of constructivism, social constructivism, theoretical of constructivism, active collaborative learning theory, technology acceptance model (TAM), theory of reasoned action, technology acceptance model and Its extensions, and finally research models and frameworks. The discussion of this research obtained revealed that the interest on the topic has shown an increasing trend over recent years that it has ultimately become a well-known topic for academic research in the future via theories use. From review of theoretical models and related theories we recommend to use constructivism, active collaborative learning theory with (TAM) to measurement performance and satisfaction with social media use as the mediator. However, to boost and enhance the IT continuance intention, it is important that future studies apply considerable use of theoretical and methodological approaches like the qualitative methods to examine the IT continuance intention. © 2005 – ongoing JATIT & LLS
Factors for minimizing cyber harassment among university students: Case study in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
This study attempted to mitigate the gap in literature concerning a one serious problem in Saudi society and government is cyber harassment. This problem is caused through the increasing use of technology. Accordingly, the main objective was to explore the factors that influence the intention to minimize cyber harassment among Saudi citizen. In this research were employed two theories the first Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the second selected Technology Acceptance Model TAM. However, based on TPB, the researcher has identified eight factors, to minimize cyber harassment, which is: technological support, attitude, subjective norms, social pressure, the influence of the mass media, perceived behavioral control, regulatory support and the role of the government, and security awareness. Nevertheless, the researcher has assured that the Saudis will remain at risk of cyber harassment, until these factors are fully investigated among the Saudi community. In conclusion, this research specifically proposed in future a model and framework for identifying the significant factors that are anticipated to play a major in minimizing cyber harassment among Saudis. The proposed framework will help the administration and decision-makers in the KSA to formulate strategies that can significantly affect anti-cyber harassment among youths

Vocabulary learning strategies(VLSs)through secondary students at Saudi school in Malaysia(ssm):a pilot study
Actually, the value of English returns to its usage over the entire world rather than the variety of its speakers. In other words, it is international and worldwide in its significance and importance such as, in international field, diplomacy, economy and agreements, global air travel, higher studies, research, peace negotiation, affairs of international cooperation around the world. It is a shared language of individuals throughout the world today. The current study aim to investigate vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs) employed by secondary students at Saudi School Malaysia (SSM). Therefore, this study is conducted on cognitive theory of learning studies, the mental processes involved in the learning process. Moreover, this study conducted an analysis of studies dedicated to vocabulary learning strategies (VLSs) through secondary students at Saudi school in Malaysia based on previous research problems of models and theories. In addition, this study applied quantitative approach, and the questionnaire was conducted using 58 students. The results of this study revealed the percentage and frequency have further underscored this role and the significance of vocabulary learning in both students and teachers. Also, the results show that students at (SSM) have employed the five categories of VLSs at a medium level and almost at a close range
Impact of Quran in treatment of the psychological disorder and spiritual illness
This paper studies the effect of Quranic therapy on psychological diseases and spiritual diseases. The experiments have been conducted on a random sample with 121 patients from both genders. The procedures that have been followed were different sessions with the patients, who were given some verses from the Holy Quran to listen within a specific period of time. After that, each patient was given a remedy program. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness and responsiveness of patients to receive treatment through Quran. This study highlighted the employment of a quantitative research, which achieved its objective through validity and reliability. The results of the effectiveness factor came after ability and willingness and gave a result of 92.6% for those who support the contention that the Quran has a significant healing influence. Also, some of the patients who regularly attended Quranic therapy sessions have been successfully cured, 81.8% of the sample believe that Quranic therapy sessions support their health needs. This study has empirically proved that the sound of the Holy Quran is an effective treatment for those who suffer from spiritual and psychological issues. Folk medicine and other traditional methods of treatment are important field of study that require further investigation. The study also illustrates that it's highly important for patient to have confidence in his doctor or healer. Furthermore, our results show that the ability and willingness positively and significantly are related to the effectiveness and responsiveness, also effectiveness positively and significantly related to the responsiveness. Therefore, the patients satisfied to receive treatment through Quran and they have the ability and willingness to do so as they believe that Quran is an essential part of their life
The Influence of Information System Success and Technology Acceptance Model on Social Media Factors in Education
The current study explores the students’ behavioral intention to use social media and actual social media use in higher education, specifically the perception of their academic performance and satisfaction. The study is theoretically based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) with evaluation information system success models (ISSM). Theoretically, five independent constructs were identified as contributory to behavioral intention to use social media, and actual social media use towards the students’ satisfaction and performance impact was analyzed. A questionnaire survey based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and information system success model (ISSM) was utilized as the key method for collecting data and disseminated to 1200 students from four public universities of Malaysia chosen through a random sampling technique. For data analysis, the SPSS and structural equation modeling (SEM-Amos) were used. Outcomes obtained from the students’ behavioral intention to use and actual social media usage indicates a positive and constructive influence on satisfaction and academic performance in higher education. In addition, both male and female students were satisfied with perceived usefulness (β = 0.095, t-value = 3.325, p < 0.001 and β = −0.045, t-value = −2.079, p < 0.001, respectively), perceived ease of use (β = 0.108, t-value = 3.29, p < 0.001 and β = 0.307, t-value = 12.365, p < 0.001, respectively), perceived technology fit (β = 0.14, t-value = 4.769, p < 0.001 and β = 0.277, t-value = 12.358, p < 0.001, respectively), information quality (β = 0.108, t-value = 3.825, p < 0.001 and β = 0.109, t-value = 5.087, p < 0.001, respectively), and system quality (β = 0.232, t-value = 7.573, p < 0.001 and β = 0.176, t-value = 7.429, p < 0.001, respectively). Therefore, we encourage students to use social media for educational purposes and encourage more interactions with peers at higher education institutions. The study’s empirical findings present strong support for the integrative association between the TAM and the ISSM in using online learning platforms to improve students’ academic achievements and satisfaction. This could help decision makers in universities, higher education institutions, and colleges to plan, evaluate, and implement online learning platforms in their institutions
Exploring the Factors Affecting Mobile Learning for Sustainability in Higher Education
Mobile learning (M-learning) has become an important instructional technology component in higher education. The goal of this research is to determine how Malaysian university students use M-learning in higher education. The technology acceptance model (TAM) concept was used to construct a theoretical model of M-learning acceptability. In theory, five independent criteria were discovered as contributing to the actual usage of M-learning for educational sustainability by influencing students’ attitudes towards M-learning and their intention to use it. A questionnaire survey based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) was used as the primary data collection technique, with 200 students from UTHM University of Malaysia participating. The data were analyzed using SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-Amos). The results of the students’ attitudes towards using M-learning and their behavioral intentions to use M-learning show a beneficial impact on the actual use of M-learning as well as the long-term sustainability of M-learning in higher education. In addition, both male and female students were satisfied with perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, attitude towards use, task-technology fit, behavioral intention to use, perceived resources and actual use of mobile learning for educational sustainability. This study contributes to the validation of the extended TAM for M-learning by demonstrating that the predicted model predicts students’ attitudes towards using M-learning and their behavioral intentions in Malaysian higher education
