Educational Leadership Styles and its Relationship to Job Engagement in Secondary Schools in East Jerusalem schools from School teachers perspective
Aims: The study aims at investigating the educational leadership style and its relationship to job engagement in East Jerusalem high schools from schoolteachersâ perspective. Methodology: The study utilizes the descriptive analytical approach. Both educational leadership style questionnaire and job involvement questionnaire were validated and applied on a random sample of (224) schoolteachers in East Jerusalem. Results: The results shows that the level of the educational leadership style was moderate. The leisure style came first, followed by the autocratic style, whereas the democratic style came last. Also, the level of job engagement was moderate. The dedication dimension came in first, followed by vigor dimension and absorption dimension respectively. Moreover, the results show a positive relation between the democratic style and job engagement, and a negative relation between job engagement and both autocratic style and the leisure style. Recommendations: The study recommends promoting job engagement and democratic style of leadership by supporting an appropriate atmosphere for the teacher to offer his best
Creative Thinking and its Relation to Social Status among the High School Students in Jerusalem
This research aims at investigating the relationship between creative thinking and social status among high school students in Jerusalem. A developed version of Torrance Scale of Creative Thinking and a developed scale for social status were implemented. The study sample consisted of 250 secondary stage students. The descriptive approach was used to achieve the study goals. The results revealed that the level of creative thinking among high school students in Jerusalem was high, and that the level of social status was also high. Moreover, the results showed differences in both creative thinking and social status among high school students due to gender; in favor of males. As for schools, private schools were doing better than the public ones. As for the branch, it was in favor of the scientific one. While for studentsâ achievement, students with academic averages from (65 -85) were in favor; and as for classes, those in favor were the tenth grade. Whereas, the results showed that there were no differences in the social status according to the class. In addition, the results showed a significant correlation between creative thinking and social status among high school students in the city of Jerusalem
Martial Silence and its Relation with Martial Adjustment among Palestinian Spouses
This study aims to identify spousal silence and its relation to psychological adjustment among Palestinian spouses. lt also investigates the differences in spousal silence according to some independent variables. A random sample of 300 families has been selected. Both the Spousal Silence Scale and the Fâsychological Adjustment Scale are administered with remarkable coefficients of reliability and validity. The results show that the psychological adjustment is high among Palestinian spouses, and the spousal silence is moderate. The results also indicate that husbands have spousal silence higher than that perceived by wives. The results also show no differences in the spousal silence among the spouses due to the place of residence, the duration of marriage, and qualiïŹcation. Moreover, the results show a negative correlation between spousal silence and psychological adjustment. The study recommends that marital silence should be given more attention because it leads to emotional divorce and other family problems
