Chelating ion-exchange Properties of Polyurethane Resin Derived from Thiazolo[5,4-D]Thiozole

    Get PDF
3,6-dihydrothiazolo [5, 4-d] thiazole which supported on polyurethane was synthesized. The prepared compound was characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The chelating properties towards various metal ions Pb2+, Mn2+, Cr3+, Co3+and Cd+3 was examined. The effects of concentration of metal ions, time of extraction and pH as well as the recovery of ions have been studied. The results showed that the high activity order of resin to extract the metal ions is Pb2> Cd+3 > Mn2+>Cr3+> Co3+. Total and differential leukocytes count in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Iraq

    Get PDF
To find the correlation between total and differential leukocytes count and the presence of microalbuminuria in diabetic patients. The results show significant positive correlation between total leukocytes count and microalbuminuria in males and females also there is significant positive correlation between neutrophils count and microalbuminuria in males and females but there is no correlation with other types of leukocytes

A study of some atomic properties for He-like selected ions

    Get PDF
The atomic properties have been studied for He-like ions (He atom, Li+, Be2+ and B3+ions). These properties included, the atomic form factor f(S), electron density at the nucleus , nuclear magnetic shielding constant and diamagnetic susceptibility ,which are very important in the study of physical properties of the atoms and ions. For these purpose two types of the wave functions applied are used, the Hartree-Fock (HF) waves function (uncorrelated) and the Configuration interaction (CI) wave function (correlated). All the results and the behaviors obtained in this work have been discussed, interpreted and compared with those previously obtained

Protective Activity of Glycyrrihzaglabra against Histopathological Changes in White Albino Rats

The study was aimsto evaluation the protective activity of methanol-water extract of Glycyrrihzaglabraroot (GL) against histopathological changes induced by cyclophosphamide in white albino rats. Multiple doses for drug and extract were used to investigate the accumulation effect of drug and extract onliver and kidney. Results show that drug causes different harmful changes in rat organs in all doses concentrations used in study and extract have protective activity to prevent changes in tissue in 1000, 750 and 250 mg \kg , but dose 500 was failure to protect liver and lowest effect on kidney. Conclusion of present study is Glycyrrihzaglabrauseful for protective body organs against side effect of drugs and harmful effect of oxidative stress. In vivo study of antimutagenic and antioxidant activity of Glycyrrihza glabra root extract

    Get PDF
The studying was aimed to inhibition the mutagenecity and oxidation of genomic DNA by use methanol-water extract of Glycyrrihza glabra root (GL) against anticancer drug cyclophosphomide in rats by use DNA fragmentation test, the extract characterized by thin layer chromatography TLC, and antioxidant activity by use β- carotene spray, the experiment design to use tow single dose of GL and single dose of the drug in three interaction, extract before, with and after the drug to investigate the mechanism of which extract effect inside cell. Four multiple doses for drug and extract to investigate the accumulation effect in DNA the results show that extract is contain of different polar compound and have antioxidant activity, so the extract is bio-antimutagenesis and poor dismutagenesis activity, the extract can inhibit accumulation effect of mutagenecity and oxidation activity of the drug

Effect of Pollutant Water on Some Organs and Blood Parameters in Rats

    Get PDF
Water pollution causes dangerous problems in our life. The present study aims to determination effect of chemical polluted water on blood parameter and histological changes in rat organs using Wight albino rats. For this study Hilla fabric plant waste water is used as drinking water to the rats for 30 days. Results show that polluted water causes increased in W.B.Cs count and histopathological changes in liver and kidne

Flammability action of tires material after adding flame inhibitor

    Get PDF
Magnesium hydroxide was used as flame inhibitor to increased flame resistance for tires .Magnesium hydroxide was adding with (5%,10%) weight percents to rubber master batch of tire and then exposed the resulting material to a flame generated from gas torch with (10 mm) exposure distance . Method of measuring the surface temperature opposite to the flame was used to determine the heat transferred through tire material. The results were obtained shows enhanced flame resistance for tire by added magnesium hydroxide and this resistance increased by increasing hydroxide Percentage

Multifocus Images Fusion Based On Homogenity and Edges Measures

    Get PDF
Image fusion is one of the most important techniques in digital image processing, includes the development of software to make the integration of multiple sets of data for the same location; It is one of the new fields adopted in solve the problems of the digital image, and produce high-quality images contains on more information for the purposes of interpretation, classification, segmentation and compression, etc. In this research, there is a solution of problems faced by different digital images such as multi focus images through a simulation process using the camera to the work of the fuse of various digital images based on previously adopted fusion techniques such as arithmetic techniques (BT, CNT and MLT), statistical techniques (LMM, RVS and WT) and spatial techniques (HPFA, HFA and HFM). As these techniques have been developed and build programs using the language MATLAB (b 2010). In this work homogeneity criteria have been suggested for evaluation fused digital image's quality, especially fine details. This criterion is correlation criteria to guess homogeneity in different regions within the image by taking a number of blocks of different regions in the image and different sizes and work shifted blocks per pixel. As dependence was on traditional statistical criteria such as (mean, standard deviation, and signal to noise ratio, mutual information and spatial frequency) and compared with the suggested criteria to the work. The results showed that the evaluation process was effective and well because it took into measure the quality of the homogenous regions

Study the role of Estradiol and Luteinizing hormones in breast tumors incidence in the women in Al-Najaf Governorate- Iraq

This study aims to illustration the role of some important risk factors which including age, age at menarche , menopausal status, the levels of estradiol(E2) and luteinizing hormones(LH) in the increasing breast tumors incidence by using 120 women, divided into three groups; control group including forty healthy women, benign group containing forty women with breast benign tumor and malignant group of forty women with malignant breast tumor, this last group subdivided into; malignant presurgery and malignant post surgery groups each one contain twenty women.    The results showed that benign breast tumors are  more common in women with interval age 31-40 years whereas malignant breast tumors were more common in women with interval age 41-50 years. Early age at menarche wasn’t significantly associated with increasing breast cancer incidence, contrariwise menopausal status which was significantly associated with increasing this disease .   The results revealed a significant elevation P? 0.05 in the levels of estradiol E2, and Luteinizing hormones in the women with breast cancer before tumor excision and reduction in the levels of these hormones in the women after tumor excision indicating the role of these hormones in the initiation or promotion breast cancer. In conclusion, this study revealed that breast cancer incidence increased in women in forties and fifties of age and increasing the levels of endogenous hormones such as Estradiol, and luteinizing hormones can increased risk of developing breast cancer especially in postmenopausal women. Key word : Brest cancer  , Risk factor ,  Estradiol(E2) ,  luteinizing hormone
