In the title compound, {[Ag(C14H10N4O)2]AsF6}n, the AgI ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two different pyridyl rings and one N atom from one carbonitrile group of three different N′-(4-cyanobenzylidene)nicotinohydrazide ligands in a distorted T-shaped geometry. The Ag—Ncarbonitrile bond distance is significant longer than those of Ag—Npyridyl. The bond angles around the AgI atom are also not in line with those in an ideal T-shaped geometry. One type of ligand acts as the bridge that connects AgI atoms into chains along [01]. These chains are linked to each other via N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and Ag⋯O interactions with an Ag⋯O separation of 2.869 (2) Å. In addition, the [AsF6]− counter-anions are linked to the hydrazone groups through N—H⋯F hydrogen bonds. Four of the F atoms of the [AsF6]− anion are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.732 (9) and 0.268 (9)

Chiral Separation of D,L-Mandelic Acid Using An Enantioselective Membrane Formed by Polycondensation of β-Cyclodextrin with 1,6-Diisocyanatohexane on A Polysulfone Membrane

An enantioselective composite membrane was prepared by polycondensation between β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) on a polysulfone support (PS) and a heptane solution of 1,6-diisocyanatohexane (1,6-DCH). The flux and permselective properties of the composite membrane were studied using an aqueous solution of D,L-mandelic acid as the feed solution. The influences of a number of parameters, such as the air-drying time of the β-CD solution on PS, the time of polymerization, the operating pressure and the feed concentration of the racemate, were studied. Chemical characterization was carried out using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and the top surface/cross-section was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that when using the enantioselective composite membrane for the optical resolution of the D,L-mandelic acid racemic mixture, an enantiomeric excess of over 85% could be obtained. The paper thus details, for the first time, how a poly(β-CD crosslinked with 1,6-DCH)/PS composite membrane can be used as an optical resolution membrane material to isolate the optical isomers of D,L-mandelic acid

In the title polymer, {[Cu(SO4)(C12H9N3O)2(H2O)2]·4H2O}n, both the metal center and the sulfate anion are located on a twofold axis. The CuII ion is coordinated by two pyridyl N atoms from two symmetry-related organic ligands, two O atoms from two symmetry-related water molecules, and two O atoms from two symmetry-related sulfate anions, resulting in a distorted octahedral geometry. The sulfate anions act as μ2-bridges and connect metal ions, forming a one-dimensional chain along the b axis. The three-dimensional crystal structure is established through intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the organic ligands, sulfate anions, coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules, and through π–π interacting 2-pyridone rings, with centroid–centroid separations of ca 3.96 Å and tilt angles of ca 2.62°

AbstractObjectiveAerobic vaginitis (AV) is a recently proposed term for genital tract infection in women. The diagnosis of AV is mainly based on descriptive diagnostic criteria proposed by Donders and co-workers. The objective of this study is to report AV prevalence in southwest China using an objective assay kit based on preformed enzymes and also to determine its characteristics.Materials and methodsA total of 1948 outpatients were enrolled and tested by a commercial diagnostic kit to investigate the AV prevalence and characteristics in southwestern China. The study mainly examined the vaginal ecosystem, age distribution, Lactobacillus amount, and changes in pH. Differences within groups were analyzed by Wilcoxon two-sample test.ResultsThe AV detection rate is 15.40%. The AV patients were usually seen in the sexually active age group of 20–30 years, followed by those in the age group of 30–40 years. The vaginal ecosystems of all the patients studied were absolutely abnormal, and diagnosed to have a combined infection [aerobic vaginitis (AV) + bacterial vaginitis (BV) 61.33%; 184/300]. Aerobic bacteria, especially Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, were predominantly found in the vaginal samples of these women.ConclusionAV is a common type of genital infection in southwestern China and is characterized by sexually active age and combined infection predominated by the AV and BV type

In the title compound, C12H12N6·4H2O, the two triazole rings adopt a cis configuration with a crystallographic twofold axis passing through the central benzene group. The benzene and triazole rings are almost coplanar with a dihedral angle of 5.5 (1)°. In the crystal, water molecules are joined together by OW—H⋯OW hydrogen bonds to form a one-dimensional zigzag chain. These water chains are further connected to the organic molecule, forming a three-dimensional network by intermolecular OW—H⋯N and N—H⋯OW hydrogen bonds. Moreover, π–π stacking interactions between triazole rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.667 (1)–3.731 (1) Å] are observed. One of the water molecules shows one of the H atoms to be disordered over two positions

A crystallographic twofold axis passing through the centre of the disulfide linkage in the title compound, C16H12N6S2·2H2O, results in one-half of the molecule and one uncoordinated water molecule described in the asymmetric unit. In the molecule, the mean planes of the benzene and triazole rings are close to being coplanar and are separated by a dihedral angle of 2.08 (15)°. The triazole rings are twisted by a dihedral angle of 37.67 (6)° from the disulfide linkage. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds with the water molecules, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular network

p130cas (p130 Crk-associated substrate) is a scaffolding protein and plays an important role in regulating focal adhesion and driving cell migration. Also, the destruction of E-cadherin/β-catenin adhesive complex is one of the changes that characterizes the invasive phenotype of tumors. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of p130cas, E-cadherin, and β-catenin expression in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We examined the expression of p130cas, E-cadherin, and β-catenin in 105 lung cancer tissues and paired adjacent normal lung tissues using immunohistochemistry. The overexpression of p130cas was observed in 61.9% (65/105) of lung cancer samples. The overexpression of p130cas was correlated with abnormal expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin (P=0.002 and P=0.006, respectively). Chi-square test showed that the overexpression of p130cas correlated positively with lymph node metastasis and high TNM stage. The Log-Rank test revealed that the mean survival time of patients with p130cas overexpression (36.31 ± 5.66 months) was markedly shorter than those with p130cas normal expression (60.57 ± 6.95 months). Multivariable analysis indicated p130cas overexpression (P<0.001) as an independent significant prognostic factor for NSCLC patients’ survival. These results indicate that p130cas may impact a variety of clinicopathological features of NSCLC and may y influence the prognosis of lung cancer patients
