In this paper, some theoretical attenuation  parameters was calculated for shields  made up of composite materials basis polymer (Epoxy )  with added materials (C,Ni,PbO,Bi) with different concentrations (10,20,30,40,50)wt% , where the effect of concentrations variation on the attenuation coefficients values , effective atomic number and shields density has been studying. The computer program code X-Com was used to calculate the attenuation parameter values at different energies (0.662,1.173,1.332)MeV .Results shows that there is a clear change in the values of these parameters with the change of concentration ratios

The uranium concentration and the related radiation hazard in eight types of powder milk were estimated. The uranium concentration in these sample is measured by using the solid- state nuclear track detectors technique. The result show that the maximum uranium concentration was found in(NaNa-NaNa) (2.804 ppm), While the minimum concentration was found in (Guigoz) (1.272 ppm). The result show that the average hazard index of these samples was up to (0.18) , which is the limit being less than 1, and the effective dose average was around (0.677mSv/h ). In this research, The uranium concentration in teeth samples was measured using a CR-39 track detector and the fission tracks registration method., for 25 samples of teeth distributed across Samawa City, each weighing (0.7) grams and (2) mm in thickness. Exposed done after preparing the samples into small spherical pellets covered with a 1x1cm2 CR-39 detector. These samples with detectors together were irradiated using an (241Am-Be) source with a neutron flux (5x103 n.cm-2.s-1) for one week. These samples were compared with standard samples to find uranium concentration. The results show that the maximum value of uranium concentration was (2.273 ppm) and value of the minimum uranium concentration was (0.626 ppm) and the concentration of uranium in females was higher than in males, the concentration of uranium was affected by several factors: the region of study, gender and age of the human.

Neutron-irradiation effects on optical properties of Poly (vinyl Chloride) (PVC) composites was studied for the neutron flux    (105 n.cm-2.s-1) at room temperature. By the Ultraviolet- Visible spectroscopy the optical absorption in the wavelength 200-900 were recorded for the thick films of (PVC) doped with Zn(etx)2 salt complex have been prepared  by coast method with fixed thickness(120) microns, the optical constants such as refractive index and Extinction Coefficient and reflectance have been studied for these deposited thick films before and after irradiation in order to obtain the influence of neutron radiation on these constants. The results show that these optical constants exhibit a change in its value and that will be discussed in present work. Key word:-  PVC  polymer, optical properties of polymers, radiation of polymers
