Contributing Factors to Under-Five Child Malnutrition in Rural Bangladesh
Background and objectives: Bangladesh has the highest malnutrition rates in the world. The main objective of this study is to identify and determine the main factors for child malnutrition among children under the age 5 years in rural Bangladesh.
Material and methods: This research was conducted in rural areas at Meherpur district in Bangladesh. Convenience sampling method is used and 85 under 5 child information is collected through a structured questionnaire. The information’s of child’s are gathered from the mothers of the child. Malnourished children is measured by using APLS method and WHO Child Growth Standard Median Index. Binary logistic regression model is used to find out the key factors of malnutrition.
Results: It is found that family income, maintain proper diet during pregnancy period, proper diet maintain for children have negative significant (p\u3c0.05) effect on child malnutrition.
Conclusion: The magnitude of the child’s malnutrition still is of great concern in Bangladesh. Since, poverty, imbalanced diet during pregnancy period and imbalanced diet for under 5 children influences to malnutrition are significantly associated with high prevalence of malnutrition, so government and people should reduce these factor to reduce malnutrition in rural area of Bangladesh
FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY (FNAC) IN DIAGNOSIS OF TUMORAL CALCINOSIS, A REPORT OF THREE CASES
Introduction: Tumoral calcinosis (T.C.) is very rare and generally of unknown aetiology characterized by calcific deposits in the soft tissues. Commonly seen in the second decade of life (reported age range 15 months to 83 years). We are reporting 3 cases of T. C. who were initially diagnosed by FNAC. Two of the 3 cases were female siblings who were referred to us as possible cases of recurrent fibrosarcomas following surgical excision.
Case reports: (1) Two female siblings aged 17 and 14 years complaining of large swelling in the upper outer right thigh and the left outer upper thigh around the hip joints respectively. There was no limitation of movement. The masses recurred within a short period after total excision. Neither specimen was subjected to histopathology. Clinical examination showed two masses each approximately 30cm maximum diameter and 10 cm width. In addition the younger sister showed an additional mass 4.5 cm in the outer aspect of her right elbow. (2) 18 months old female child, unrelated to the above two cases, presented with an egg-sized mass in the mid-lateral aspect of her right thigh cystic and mobile. There is a history of quinine injection in the same area. No positive family history of a similar condition. All three cases showed normocalcaemia and hyperphosphataemia with specks of calcification on x - ray and cysts in ultrasound. FNAC showed structureless gung , calcium granules and inflammatory cells including foreign body type multinucleated giant cells. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of T. C. Discussion: Described the three types of T. C. (familial, idiopathic, and that in patients of chronic renal failure on dialysis). The differential diagnoses were also discussed as well as lines of management such as Ca++ supplementation, phosphate restriction, acetazolamide, parathyroidectomy and the treatment of choice is total surgical excision. To our best knowledge this is the first time to report the use of fine needle aspiration cytology in the diagnosis of T. C. in Sudan.
In Vitro Effects of Some Insecticides on Rumen Fluid Fermentation
A study to investigate the effects of different levels (0,5,10 and 15ppm) of three insecticides (Endosulfan, Phosalone and Chlorpyrifos) on rumen fluid fermentation characteristics (rumen pH, rumen ammonia, rumen V FA and in vitro dry matter disappearance) was carried out in the laboratory of biology in the University of Gezira, Wad Medani, Sudan in 1998. The study indicated that all the levels of each insecticide significantly (P<0.05) inhibited the in vitro dry matter disappearance )IVDMD), the rumen fluid volatile fatty acids and the rumen fluid total protozoa, and elevated the rumen fluid ammonia compared to the control. However, the rumen fluid pH was not affected. Also, the study revealed that endosulfan significantly (P<0.05) inhibited the rumen protozoa and the IVDMD percent than both phosalpne and chlorpyrifos
Octonionization of three player, two strategy maximally entangled quantum games
We develop an octonionic representation of the payoff function for three
player, two strategy, maximally entangled quantum games in order to obtain
computationally friendly version of this function. This computational
capability is then exploited to analyze and potentially classify the Nash
equilibria in the quantum games
The Role of Audio Visual Contents on the Development of Education in Bangladesh: A Systematic Review
Background: The act of communicating with another person is referred to as communication. Information is any written, audiovisual information that conveys knowledge about a new person, place, thing, situation, or environment. To execute this, one need a sender and a receiver as well as a medium, a message that makes sense, and discussion. Audio-visual digital materials are a vital part of the world's sustainable educational development in this era of technology. Objectives: The purpose of this research is to identify how audiovisual materials have impacted Bangladesh's educational advancement. Methods: The study's data came from Scopus and Google Scholar, PUBMED articles that were published between 2004 and 2019. To find further studies, the reference lists of all included studies and pertinent systematic reviews were examined. All searches were limited to just human research and the English language. This systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Results: The results of 10 studies, selected at random, indicate that more widespread use of audio-visual information might improve technical knowledge, attitudes, and practices in educational advancement as well as reduce all forms of illiteracy in Bangladesh. Conclusion: After reading the articles, it was determined that audiovisual content plays a specific role in the educational development, increasing knowledge, attitude, and practice. In-depth research and projects are needed to understand the audio-visual concept's contribution to society. Keyword: Role, audio-visual contents, education, advancements, Bangladesh. Sand Modified with Nanoparticles of Calcium, Aluminum, and CTAB in the Form of Layered Double Hydroxide for Removing of Amoxicillin from Groundwater
The addition of new reactive sites on the surface area of the inert sand, which are represented by layered double hydroxide nanoparticles, is the primary goal of this work, which aims to transform the sand into a reactive material. Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) surfactant is used in the reaction of calcium extracted from solid waste-chicken eggshells with aluminum prepared from the cheapest coagulant-alum. By separating amoxicillin from wastewater, the performance of coated sand named as "sand coated with (Ca/Al-CTAB)-LDH" was evaluated. Measurements demonstrated that pH of 12 from 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, CTAB dosage of 0.05 g from 0, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.1 g, ratio of Ca/Al of 2 from 1, 2, 3, and 4, and mass of sand of 1 g/50 mL from 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 g/50 mL are the optimal manufacturing conditions for coated sand to guarantee an antibiotic removal efficiency greater than 80. After planting the LDH nanoparticles, characterization analyses revealed that the generation of a plate-like layer composed of loosely aggregated micrometric plates had significantly altered the structure of sand. Finally, as the sorbent mass increased as well as the flow rate and inlet contaminant concentration (Co) decreased, the longevity of coated sand in the packed column significantly increased. In comparison to the Belter-Cussler-Hu and Yan models, the Thomas-BDST model provides a more accurate simulation of measured breakthrough curves
