Designation Homemade Instrument to Measure Turbidity of Barium Sulphate
This research include the designation of newly instrument (Turbidmeter) depending on using photo voltaic detector (8.5mm.*8.5mm.).These dimensions have large area which increases the scattering rays with a variable intensity.
The properties of this design are local mode and the used tools are a available in the local markets as well as its less cost light weight system. It is worth mentioning that the possibility of its application in many fields such as: Clinical, Laboratory, Industrial and Fuel fields. This designation, applied to estimate Barium Sulphate in turbidity method. The analytical results show high accuracy and repetition, also the linearity ranges from (4-180) ppm. At the detection limit (0.05) ppm. With correlation coefficient (0.9992), as well as using volume ratio percents (ethanol-glycerin) equal to (10-90) %
Uninsured free clinic patients’ experiences and perceptions of healthcare services, community resources, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
Free clinics provide free or reduced fee healthcare to individuals who lack access to primary care and are socio-economically disadvantaged. There has been a paucity of free clinic research with the few studies employing a quantitative design. The purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth qualitative exploration of free clinic patients’ experience and perceptions of healthcare services, community resources, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Free clinic adult patients (n=35) participated in four focus groups between June and July 2014 (one Spanish group in June, and two English groups and one Spanish group in July) in a classroom of a free clinic. More than 80% of the participants were non-US born from Mexico, Central/South America, South or East Asia, Pacific Islands, or Western Europe. While participants reported being satisfied overall with free clinic services, they indicated that they desire more specialty services and health education programs. Furthermore, they reported being frustrated by long waiting times- both in the waiting room and when making an appointment, phone communication, and interpreter services. It is necessary to find effective ways to provide information about health education opportunities and the ACA to free clinic patients because participants appeared not to have received sufficient information about available resources. Health education programs for free clinic patients should not only focus on increasing knowledge but also changing behaviors
A Decision Support Tool Facilitating Medicine Design for Optimal Acceptability in The Older Population
International audiencePurposeMedicine acceptability, which is of the utmost importance for vulnerable patients’ adherence, is driven by both user and product characteristics. Herein, a novel multivariate approach integrating the many aspects of acceptability is used to discriminate positively and negatively accepted medicines in the older population.MethodsAn observational study was carried out in eight hospitals and eight nursing homes to collect a large set of real-life data on medicines uses in older patients (≥65 years). Mapping and clustering explored these multiple observational measures and summarised the main information into an intelligible reference framework. Resampling statistics were used to validate the model’s reliability.ResultsA three-dimensional map and two clusters defining acceptability profiles, as positive or negative, emerged from the 1079 evaluations. Factors of interest (medicines, user features…) were positioned on the map at the barycentre of their evaluations and assigned to an acceptability profile. Focusing on patients’ ability to swallow, we have highlighted the tool’s efficacy in demonstrating the impact of user features on medicine acceptability.ConclusionsThis multivariate approach provides a relevant judgement criterion for this multi-dimensional concept. Facilitating the choice of the most appropriate dosage form to achieve optimal acceptability in a targeted population, this tool is of real potential to improve clinical decisions
