The study explores citation pattern of the 4112 articles in the field of chemical engineering published from 1974 to 2018 and indexed in Web of Science. Apart from good quality research, a number of other factors may be responsible for citing and not citing an article. The study has also tried to explore such factors. Only the top 500 articles with the most number of citations have been analysed in-depth. The countries like United States of America (USA), China, Germany, United Kingdom (UK), France, Canada, India, Japan, Spain, Russia and Brazil have the highest number of articles. The investigators calculated Pearson correlation between the number of keywords, pages, references and citations and it showed that there is no relationship between the number of keywords and number of citations. The number of pages and the number of references in a publication have a significant and positive impact on the number of citations

Usage and Perception of E-Resources by Undergraduate Students: A Case Study of Government Degree College Baramulla- J&K

We have witnessed a drastic change in the organization and operations of Library and Information Centres from last three decades or so. From storehouses of books to Information Centres, from preserving philosophy to access orientation, printed materials to digital information, manual system of operations to automatic service delivery systems and from in-house services to advanced consortia based remote access to flood of information resources, libraries as service centres have traversed a long journey with revolutionary and evolutionary ramifications. Modern-day libraries are flooded with lots of information sources both in print as well as in digital format. A major chunk of information resource in today’s libraries is in electronic and digital form which have tremendous advantages over their print counterparts. This study is an attempt to study the usage, preference, and perception of undergraduate students at the college level. Survey method of data collection has been employed with a sample size of 350 students across the 5 streams of study in the institution. The major findings of the study reveal that students are more inclined towards E-Resources in comparison to print sources. College library needs to market its services particularly E-Services among the students as the large percentage of users are not fully aware of the E-Resources and services available in their library

A prospective randomized study to compare tramadol and morphine for postoperative analgesia in spine surgeries using intravenous patient controlled analgesia

Background: Spine surgeries particulary spine fusion surgeries provide a unique challenge with respect to postoperative analgesia as the choices to provide analgesia are limited. Uses of NSAIDS and neuroaxial anaesthesia for post-operative analgesia in spine surgeries have been controversial. Patient controlled analgesia with opioids is commonly used and morphine remains the gold standard. The aim of this study was to compare tramadol with morphine for postoperative analgesia in spine surgeries using iv patient controlled analgesia. Methods: A total of 80 adult patients of ASA grade I and 2 undergoing spine surgeries and divided into two groups i.e. morphine group M and tramadol group T with 40 patients in each group were included in the study. pain assessment was done by NRS (numeric rating scale) upto 48 hours postoperatively other parameters like nausea/vomiting and sedation were also noted. Both groups received boluses initially to control pain. Group M patients received 1mg i.v demand dose of morphine with lock out time of 10-15 minutes and in Group T patients PCA device was set to deliver 20mg i.v demand dose of tramadol with lock out time of 10-15 minutes. A bolus of 25mcg fentanyl was given as rescue analgesia in both groups by the nurse if required. No background infusion or four-hour maximal limit was set on PCA pumps. Results: Pain scores remained on lower side in both the groups, though slightly better with morphine and the difference was statistically significant at 4 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours. The total NRS mean value (0-48 hours) of morphine and tramadol is 3.270 and 3.629 with p value of 0.015 which is statistically significant. 7 patients in morphine group received rescue analgesia while it was received by 15 patients in tramadol group with p value of 0.78 which is statistically insignificant. Nausea and Vomiting was encountered more frequently in the tramadol group. Mean mobilization time in patients of tramadol group was 21.72 hours and that of morphine group was 17.10 hours with p value of 0.00 which is highly significant. Conclusions: Morphine and tramadol when used in PCA mode provide adequate pain relief post operatively after spine surgeries with morphine showing slightly better analgesia profile and significantly less nausea and vomiting than tramadol.

Role of Psychological Sense of Community in Enhancing Employee’s Well-Being

Yearning for sense of community is in part fostered by decline of traditional place of community due to which people feel less satisfied at workplace. Thus drawing on psychological sense of community theory, this paper is going to focus on relationship between employee’s sense of community and life satisfaction; a critical, yet under research relationship. Using regression analysis, it was found that if employees are provided with sense of community at workplace, then they are satisfied with their life

Inclinations of Global Research on Saffron as Represented by Science Citation Index-Expanded

Using the Science Citation Index-Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection, we analyzed global saffron research literature published between 1991 and 2017. The variables examined were research performance of nations, institutions, and authors. The study noted that the distribution of author keywords, citations, and publication patterns of saffron related articles to ascertain the research inclinations. The highly cited articles and author keyword analysis showed that the chemical and biochemical qualities of saffron were of key interest for the researchers

Traditional medicine is an important component of the health care system throughout world. Herbal medicine is the use of medicinal plants for prevention and treatment of various diseases. It ranges from traditional and popular medicines of every country to the use of standardized and analyzed herbal extracts. Although therapies involving these agents have shown promising potential with the efficacy of a good number of herbal products clearly established, many of them remain untested and their use are either poorly monitored or not even monitored at all. Herbal-derived remedies need a powerful and deep assessment of their pharmacological qualities and safety issues due to the large and growing use of natural-derived substances all over the world. Based on the current situation, worldwide research on herbal medicine safety is still not broad or deep enough. For next step, more attention should be paid to researches on the toxicity and the herb-drug interaction of commonly used herb medicines, which are the most necessary and urgent work. For clinical safety monitoring, spontaneous reporting system or active pharmacovigilance is effective in identifying therapeutically relevant safety issues. In this paper, an attempt has been made to summarize the information described in scientific research conducted about Present status, Standardization and safety concerns of herbal drugs
