Despite the vast and multidimensional research conducted on the notion of CSR and its positive association with different external variables, very little focus has been given to study its influence on the employees’ attitudes and behavior which may further influence their job efficiency, job effectiveness, job quality and thus the overall job performance of individuals.  Therefore, this study aimed to empirically investigate the influence of CSR perception on the antecedents of Job Performance i.e. job efficiency, job effectiveness and job quality of employees with Overall Justice Perception as mediator. Data were collected in two different waves through questionnaires from three different organizations in Telecom sector of Pakistan. A total sample size of 217 was recorded. Results were measured through regression analysis and Preacher & Hayes (2008) macro for mediation. The results showed a weak but significant positive influence on Job efficiency, Job quality and Overall Job Performance. The overall justice perception was also found to be positively influenced by CSR as well as significant positive role of overall justice perception between CSR perception and Job Performance was found. Keywords: CSR perception, Overall Justice Perception, Job Efficiency, Job Quality, Job Effectiveness, Job Performance

This study examines the effect of the Ukraine crisis on the national and international economy, which is intrinsically tied to education, research, and science. As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the country’s economy plummeted sharply. This displaced many local and international students, teachers, and educators at Ukrainian universities, schools, and institutes, including girls and women. In this paper, we have highlighted the global effort to sustain higher education and accommodate displaced students. We have adopted an exploratory, descriptive analysis of media coverage of the Russia-Ukraine War and other statistical studies and articles generally addressing the impact of the Ukraine crisis on the economy, particularly education, research, and science. Results suggest that immediate and continuous support for Ukrainians and international students is viewed as a necessity tightly linked to the national economy and the global economy

Impact of green transformational leadership on job performance: The mediating role of psychological contract fulfillment

Green transformational leadership is a style that has the potential to not only shape individual behaviors towards more environmentally friendly behaviors, but it has also the potential to impact the employees' other non-green behaviors. This paper aims to investigate the impact of green transformational leadership style on employees' non-green behavior i.e. job performance. The study further explored the mediating role of psychological contract fulfillment between the green transformational leadership and job performance. Data were collected from various private sector organizations in Islamabad and Gilgit regions of Pakistan. A total sample size of 319 was recorded. Structural equation modeling via SmartPLS software was used to test the hypotheses. Results supported our proposed hypotheses. Several theoretical and practical implications are discussed

Analysis of critical causes of transaction cost escalation in public sector construction projects

Although transaction costs (TCs) that affect the total project costs are a common phenomenon in the Pakistani construction industry, the causes that escalate the TCs are ambiguous, and public sector organizations are unable to manage these causes efficiently. To investigate the causes of escalation of TCs in public sector construction projects, a total of 30 causes were first identified through a review of the literature and factor analysis was employed for further analysis. The semi-structured interviews were conducted with 8 professionals from the construction industry in Pakistan. The primary data used to prioritize the causes of escalation of TCs were collected from survey questionnaires in which causes such as inadequate investigation, an unclear work scope, project complexity and incomplete design and specification ranked the highest. Finally, factor analysis was used and identified 5 major underlying dimensions of the causes, namely, the procurement and contracting management, the contractor relationship management, the project external environment, managing project finance and the project transaction environment. The contribution of this research lies in the identification and examination of the underlying causes of TC escalation, as discerned by the industry professionals. All factors are important, but in the local context, soft aspects (contract relationship) and hard aspects (financial management) are additional factors perceived by the experienced professional in overcoming TC escalation issues. This could be a point of reference in the public sector construction industries of developing countries, which are characterized by their unique economic and social systems

<p>Using multisource data of 302 paired responses (supervisor-employee dyads), this study examined the effect of Authentic Leadership Style (ALS) on academia’s creativity with mediating role of their intrinsic motivation and mood in higher education institutions (HEIs) of Pakistan. Heads of departments (HoDs) in HEIs were asked to report their leadership style and creativity of their academic staff, whereas academia rated their intrinsic motivation and mood at work. ALS was regressed with creativity, intrinsic motivation and mood of academia to measure the direct relationships, whereas mediations were tested using bootstrapping technique. A strong infl uence of ALS on academic staff’s creativity, their intrinsic motivation and mood were found. Additionally, a partial mediating role of intrinsic motivation and mood was found between ALS and creativity of academic staff.</p

Unleashing the Power of Knowledge in Family Business: Exploring New Horizons and Untapped Potential for Research and Practice

Drawing on an exhaustive analysis of 112 scholarly articles dedicated to the field of Knowledge Management in Family Businesses (KMFB), this study systematically examines the prevailing research frontiers, investigates the intricate dynamics of knowledge management processes, explores the multifaceted outcomes within family business contexts, and provides an array of theoretical perspectives to underpin the empirical investigations. A pivotal focal point that emerges from this comprehensive investigation is the significance of the succession process, which serves as a pivotal link between knowledge processes and the effectiveness in harnessing innovation, entrepreneurial orientation, sustainability, and internationalization outcomes. Notably, a discernible pattern surfaces from the analysis, with a substantial proportion of the KMFB literature grounded in three prominent theoretical lenses: the knowledge-based view, resource-based view, and dynamic capabilities. These theoretical frameworks provide robust foundations for explicating the underlying mechanisms and dynamics that drive knowledge management and its impact on family business performance. Furthermore, this systematic literature review uncovers a rich landscape of opportunities for future research endeavors. It illuminates potential avenues for novel research designs, innovative investigations into knowledge processes, exploration of diverse outcomes, and the application of alternative theoretical perspectives within KMFB research. These prospects hold immense promise in advancing scholarly knowledge, refining existing theories, and providing fresh insights into the intricate interplay between knowledge management and family business performance

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of ethical leadership on two important employee extra-role behaviors; organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) and creative performance (CP). Drawing on social exchange and organizational support theories, psychological contract fulfillment (PCF) was proposed as the mediating mechanism explaining this relationship. Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected via questionnaire from 248 employee-supervisor/colleague dyads employed in a large fast-moving consumer goods multinational company in Pakistan. The hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling
