Massive Hermitian Gravity
Einstein-Strauss Hermitian gravity was recently formulated as a gauge theory
where the tangent group is taken to be the pseudo-unitary group instead of the
orthogonal group. A Higgs mechanism for massive gravity was also formulated. We
generalize this construction to obtain massive Hermitian gravity with the use
of a complex Higgs multiplet. We show that both the graviton and antisymmetric
tensor acquire the same mass. At the linearized level, the theory is ghost free
around Minkowski background and describes a massive graviton with five degrees
of freedom and an antisymmetric field with three degrees of of freedom. We
determine the strong coupling scales for these degrees of freedom and argue
that the potential nonlinear ghosts, if they exist, have to decouple from the
gravitational degrees of freedom in strong coupling regime.Comment: 10 page
Massive Gravity Simplified: A Quadratic Action
We present a simplified formulation of massive gravity where the Higgs fields
have quadratic kinetic term. This new formulation allows us to prove in a very
explicit way that all massive gravity theories considered so far inevitably

Scanner Invariant Representations for Diffusion MRI Harmonization
Purpose: In the present work we describe the correction of diffusion-weighted
MRI for site and scanner biases using a novel method based on invariant
representation.
Theory and Methods: Pooled imaging data from multiple sources are subject to
variation between the sources. Correcting for these biases has become very
important as imaging studies increase in size and multi-site cases become more
common. We propose learning an intermediate representation invariant to
site/protocol variables, a technique adapted from information theory-based
algorithmic fairness; by leveraging the data processing inequality, such a
representation can then be used to create an image reconstruction that is
uninformative of its original source, yet still faithful to underlying
structures. To implement this, we use a deep learning method based on
variational auto-encoders (VAE) to construct scanner invariant encodings of the
imaging data.
Results: To evaluate our method, we use training data from the 2018 MICCAI
Computational Diffusion MRI (CDMRI) Challenge Harmonization dataset. Our
proposed method shows improvements on independent test data relative to a
recently published baseline method on each subtask, mapping data from three
different scanning contexts to and from one separate target scanning context.
Conclusion: As imaging studies continue to grow, the use of pooled multi-site
imaging will similarly increase. Invariant representation presents a strong
candidate for the harmonization of these data

: The purpose of this study is to provide information and describe the increased interest in aspects of attention, interest, and willingness of pupils in learning civics using stories in grade 1 Elementary School 04 Sandai. The method used is descriptive method adopted in three cycles, with four stages: planning, action, observation and evaluation of the action, and reflection. Action research in each cycle by performing learning activities through a method of story. From the data obtained there is an increased interest in aspects of attention of the average baseline kesiklus III 36.67% 90.83% difference of 54.2% with a fairly high category, aspects of interest from baseline by an average of 24.2% to the cycle III 82.5% increased by 58.3% with the category is quite high, the willingness aspect of the baseline average of 92.2% increased by 79.2% cycled III by 70% with the higher category
Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis: CERS3 mutations identified by a next generation sequencing panel targeting ichthyosis genes
There are at least 38 mutant genes known to be associated with the ichthyosis phenotypes, and autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis (ARCI) is a specific subgroup caused by mutations in 13 different genes. Mutations in some of these genes, such as CERS3 with only two previous reports, are rare. In this study, we identified mutations in candidate genes in consanguineous families with ARCI with a next generation sequencing (NGS) array that incorporates 38 ichthyosis associated genes. We applied this sequencing array to DNA from 140 ichthyosis families with high prevalence of consanguinity. Among these patients we identified six distinct, previously unreported mutations in CERS3 in six Iranian families. These mutations in each family co-segregated with the ichthyosis phenotype. The patients demonstrated collodion membrane at birth, acrogeria, generalized scaling, and hyperlinearity of the palms and soles. The presence of a significant percentage of CERS3 mutations in our cohort depicts a marked difference between the etiology of ichthyoses in genetically poorly characterized regions and well-characterized western populations. Also, it shows that rare alleles are more prevalent in the gene pool of consanguineous populations and emphasizes the importance of these population studies for better understanding of ichthyosis pathogenesis
Quanta of Space-Time and Axiomatization of Physics
We consider Hilbert's sixth problem on the axiomatization of physics starting
with a higher degree Heisenberg commutation relation involving the Dirac
operator and the Feynman slash of scalar fields. The two sided version of the
commutation relation in dimension 4 implies volume quantization and determines
a noncommutative space which is a tensor product of continuous and discrete
spaces. This noncommutative space predicts the full structure of a unified
model of all particle interactions based on Pati-Salam symmetries or, as a
special case, the Standard Model. We study implications of this quantization
condition on Particle Physics, General Relativity, the cosmological constant
and dark matter. We demonstrate that, with little input, noncommutative
geometry gives a compelling and attractive picture about the nature and

The new paradigm of hepatitis C therapy: integration of oral therapies into best practices.
Emerging data indicate that all-oral antiviral treatments for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) will become a reality in the near future. In replacing interferon-based therapies, all-oral regimens are expected to be more tolerable, more effective, shorter in duration and simpler to administer. Coinciding with new treatment options are novel methodologies for disease screening and staging, which create the possibility of more timely care and treatment. Assessments of histologic damage typically are performed using liver biopsy, yet noninvasive assessments of histologic damage have become the norm in some European countries and are becoming more widespread in the United States. Also in place are new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) initiatives to simplify testing, improve provider and patient awareness and expand recommendations for HCV screening beyond risk-based strategies. Issued in 2012, the CDC recommendations aim to increase HCV testing among those with the greatest HCV burden in the United States by recommending one-time testing for all persons born during 1945-1965. In 2013, the United States Preventive Services Task Force adopted similar recommendations for risk-based and birth-cohort-based testing. Taken together, the developments in screening, diagnosis and treatment will likely increase demand for therapy and stimulate a shift in delivery of care related to chronic HCV, with increased involvement of primary care and infectious disease specialists. Yet even in this new era of therapy, barriers to curing patients of HCV will exist. Overcoming such barriers will require novel, integrative strategies and investment of resources at local, regional and national levels
Does off-pump coronary revascularization confer superior organ protection in re-operative coronary artery surgery? A meta-analysis of observational studies
Off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB) has been hypothesised to be beneficial in the high-risk patient population undergoing re-operative coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). In addition, this technique has been demonstrated to provide subtle benefits in end-organ function including heart, lungs and kidney. The aims of this study were to assess whether OPCAB is associated with a lower incidence of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) and other adverse outcomes in re-operative coronary surgery. Twelve studies, incorporating 3471 patients were identified by systematic literature review. These were meta-analysed using random-effects modelling. Primary endpoints were MACCE and other adverse outcomes including myocardial infarction, stroke, renal dysfunction, low cardiac output state, respiratory failure and atrial fibrillation. A significantly lower incidence of myocardial infarction, stroke, renal dysfunction, low cardiac output state, respiratory failure and atrial fibrillation was observed with OPCAB (OR 0.58; 95% CI (confidence interval) [0.39-0.87]; OR 0.37; 95% CI [0.17-0.79]; OR 0.39; 95% CI [0.24-0.63]; OR 0.14; 95% CI [0.04-0.56]; OR 0.36; 95% CI [0.24-0.54]; OR 0.41; 95% CI [0.22-0.77] respectively). Sub-group analysis using sample size, matching score and quality score was consistent with and reflected these significant findings. Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting reduces peri-operative and short-term major adverse outcomes in patients undergoing re-operative surgery. Consequently we conclude that OPCAB provides superior organ protection and a safer outcome profile in re-operative CABG
High Energy Bounds on Soft N=4 SYM Amplitudes from AdS/CFT
Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we study the high-energy behavior of
colorless dipole elastic scattering amplitudes in N=4 SYM gauge theory through
the Wilson loop correlator formalism and Euclidean to Minkowskian analytic
continuation. The purely elastic behavior obtained at large impact-parameter L,
through duality from disconnected AdS_5 minimal surfaces beyond the
Gross-Ooguri transition point, is combined with unitarity and analyticity
constraints in the central region. In this way we obtain an absolute bound on
the high-energy behavior of the forward scattering amplitude due to the
graviton interaction between minimal surfaces in the bulk. The dominant
"Pomeron" intercept is bounded by alpha less than or equal to 11/7 using the
AdS/CFT constraint of a weak gravitational field in the bulk. Assuming the
elastic eikonal approximation in a larger impact-parameter range gives alpha
between 4/3 and 11/7. The actual intercept becomes 4/3 if one assumes the
elastic eikonal approximation within its maximally allowed range L larger than
exp{Y/3}, where Y is the total rapidity. Subleading AdS/CFT contributions at
large impact-parameter due to the other d=10 supergravity fields are obtained.
A divergence in the real part of the tachyonic KK scalar is cured by
analyticity but signals the need for a theoretical completion of the AdS/CFT

Stress among Mansoura (Egypt) baccalaureate nursing students
Background: Over the last years, details regarding levels of stress and sources of stress have emerged in studies of nursing students in Western population To date, there only few similar reports on clinical stress, anxiety, depression among the Arab population .This study was conducted to examine the level of perceived stress among baccalaureate Mansoura nursing students and to highlight the possible predicting factors. Methods: In this cross- sectional study, Data were obtained from 373 students using a self-administered questionnaire, including questions on sociodemographics, list of possible stressors, perceived stress, physical wellbeing factors, anxiety and depressive symptoms. Results: Prevalence of high stress level, anxiety and depression were 40.2%, 46.6% and 27.9%, respectively. On average each student reported a mean of 4.6 stressors and academic pressures were the most frequent stressors .In regression analysis the number of stressors and global sickness index score were predictors of high stress level. Conclusion: These findings call for introduction of stress management programs and psychiatric care into nursing health services of the University.Key words: Nursing students, stress, Depression, Anxiety, Arab culture, Egyp
