    Get PDF
Voice and speaker recognition performances are measured based on the accuracy, speed and robustness. These three key performance indicators are primarily dependent on voice feature extraction method and voice recognition algorithm used. This paper aims to discuss various researches in speech recognition that has yielded high accuracy rates of 95% and above. The extracted MFCCs from MATLAB Voicebox toolbox were used as inputs to the multilayer Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) for female voice recognition algorithm. This study explored the recognition performance of the neural networks using variable number of hidden neurons and layers, and determine the architecture that would provide the optimum performance in terms of high recognition rate. MATLAB simulation resulted to a training and testing recognition rate of 100.00% when using 3-hidden-layer neural network from speech samples of a single-speaker, and highest training recognition rate of 98.11% and testing recognition rate of 87.20% when using 4-hidden-layer neural network from speech samples of several speakers. When tested with homonyms, the best recognition rate was 75.00% from a 3-hidden-layer neural network trained from a single-speaker, and 81.91% from a 4- hidden-layer neural network trained from multiple speakers. The deviation in recognition rates were primarily attributed to the variations made in the number of input neurons, hidden layers, and neurons of the speech recognition neural network

ABSTRACT: An Expert System is a type of system that usually has a knowledge base containing accumulated experience and a set of rules for applying the knowledge base to each particular solution. It is an Artificial Intelligence Based System that performs task that otherwise is performed by a human expert. A problem with these systems is that it may output several Possible Causes for a set of Symptoms. In return, the user will still have a coarse time in doing diagnostic procedures. A solution to this problem is to apply a Conflict Resolution model. This paper presents a Conflict Resolution model using Logic Scoring of Preference (LSP) to be used in an Expert System for Information System Communication Networks. This can aide the user in diagnostic procedures and reduce trial and error

An open source is software in which the source code is freely available and may be distributed or revised. The internet is composed of a variety of these systems and is frequently used. One category of open source systems is web applications. Examples of open source web applications are Moodle and Wordpress. One problem of open source web applications is because their codes are freely available and revised many times by different programmers it may not be standard and optimized. Logic scoring of preference is an evaluation methodology with theoretical foundations in fuzzy logic and optimization systems. This methodology allows the nonlinear aggregation of a large number of input criteria without the loss of important data. This research will develop a novel logic scoring of preference algorithm that evaluates open source web applications Moodle and Wordpress to follow the International standard ISO/IEC 25010:2011. A new metric for open source web application quality will be presented and will be focused on the usability and functional suitability of the system. This will serve as a guide for the developers of these programs to further improve the software and optimizing it. © 2006-2018 Asian Research Publishing Network (ARPN)

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death to human beings. This disease has taken numerous lives throughout human history. Heart disease describes a range of conditions that affects the heart. This disease refers to conditions that involve blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack or stroke. Heart failure caused by damage to the heart that has developed over time cannot be cured. But it can be treated to improve its symptoms. In general, the earlier that a heart disease is detected the better options are available to diagnose it. This paper presented how Rough Set theory is applied to develop a data model to aid a physician to diagnose heart disease. In particular this research will utilize the data obtained from the Hungarian database UCI Machine Learning Repository. The results of the research showed that the rough set theory successfully reduced the dimensionality of the heart disease data set by approximately 49%. Empirical testing was used to validate the rules and gave a 100% result. © 2006-2016 Asian Research Publishing Network (ARPN)
