This article covers two aspects that are divided into the formation of the Human Rights Seedbed of the Faculty of Law of the American University (Semillero), as well as in the decision and execution of starting a research project after the visits of two museums: Museum of Memories and Museum of Justice, both related to human rights violations during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner. In this context, this work describes the research work that has been carried out regarding the description, fundamentally, of the persecution and deprivation of liberty of public opponents during this period, mainly, through the information found in the Museum of Justice. The decision to carry out this challenge has strengthened not only the participation of students as researchers but also the importance of memory, truth and justice as fundamental elements of Democracy in terms of academic awareness.

This article deals with the new way of learning offered by the interuniversity competencies called Moot Court and which were developed during 2019 and had as main activities and challenges; an intense training process, the study of a hypothetical case, the preparation of a written memorial and finally; the presentation of oral allegations before specialists in the matter that formed a Court. They were developed during 2019 and had as main activities and challenges; an intense training process, the study of hypothetical cases, the preparations of written memorials and finally; the presentation of oral allegations before specialists. The first one was framed in the field of Economic Criminal Law and Anti-Corruption, and the second one; in International Human Rights Law with emphasis on the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights of the Organization of American States (OAS). Both cases were developed from a human rights approach with emphasis on Conventionality Control, fundamentally, because it is essential that the academy study it and insist that justice operators begin and consolidate the mainstreaming of international human rights standards as soon as to the precedents of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (I / A Court HR).El presente art铆culo aborda la novedosa forma de aprendizaje que ofrecen las competencias interuniversitarias denominadas Moot Court desde la participaci贸n de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Americana en dos de ellas durante el 2019.

Mutant p53 as a guardian of the cancer cell

Forty years of research have established that the p53 tumor suppressor provides a major barrier to neoplastic transformation and tumor progression by its unique ability to act as an extremely sensitive collector of stress inputs, and to coordinate a complex framework of diverse effector pathways and processes that protect cellular homeostasis and genome stability. Missense mutations in the TP53 gene are extremely widespread in human cancers and give rise to mutant p53 proteins that lose tumor suppressive activities, and some of which exert trans-dominant repression over the wild-type counterpart. Cancer cells acquire selective advantages by retaining mutant forms of the protein, which radically subvert the nature of the p53 pathway by promoting invasion, metastasis and chemoresistance. In this review, we consider available evidence suggesting that mutant p53 proteins can favor cancer cell survival and tumor progression by acting as homeostatic factors that sense and protect cancer cells from transformation-related stress stimuli, including DNA lesions, oxidative and proteotoxic stress, metabolic inbalance, interaction with the tumor microenvironment, and the immune system. These activities of mutant p53 may explain cancer cell addiction to this particular oncogene, and their study may disclose tumor vulnerabilities and synthetic lethalities that could be exploited for hitting tumors bearing missense TP53 mutations
