    Get PDF
AbstractModeling offers great potential for reducing experimental effort in development of welding parameters, tool design and many other areas and at the same time reduce cost and time. An analytical model for heat generation for friction stir welding using taper cylindrical pin profile was developed. The proposed analytical expression is the modification of previous analytical models known from the literature which is verified and well matches with the model developed by previous researchers. The results of the proposed model were validated with the data from previous researchers. From the obtained results, it was observed that less temperature is generated using taper cylindrical pin profile than straight cylindrical pin profile under given set of working conditions. Furthermore, numerical simulation result shows that increasing the taper pin angle leads to decrease in peak temperature

Artificial intelligence and machine learning will be the driving forces behind the next computing revolution. These technologies rely on the ability to identify trends from historical information and predict future outcomes. One of the best machine learning techniques, deep learning is employed in a variety of applications, including object recognition, picture categorization, image analysis, and clinical archives. Image and video data are necessary for both diagnosing the patient's illness and determining its severity. Convolutional neural networks are efficient gears for digital picture classification and image understanding. The production of medical photographs has ex-ponentially increased as a result of the proliferation of digital devices and the development of camera technology, which creates Bigdata. Massive, difficult-to-manage volumes of structured, unstructured data are referred to as "Big data". The more data processed for analysis, the greater will be the analytical accuracy and also the greater would be the confidence in our decisions based on the analytical findings. In this paper, we proposed a novel method for early detection of pneumonia disease using deep learning techniques along with the big data storage and big data analytics to achieve more better performance. The results show that, the model achieved 91.16% of accuracy and 93.22% of F1-score

In this current investigation, SiC particles 20μm in average size were incorporated into the commercially AA6061-T6 to prepare surface composite by using Friction stir processing (FSP). The morphology of the reinforcement inside the Al matrix has been evaluated from scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the corrosion characteristics of the resulted composite were evaluated using static immersion corrosion (SIC) behavior in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution at various regimes. From the results, it observed that the SiC particles were distributed uniformly inside the stir zone (SZ) in both first and third-pass of FSP. The micro hardness of stir zone with SiC particles of I-pass was higher compared to III-pass and as-received Al alloy. In static immersion corrosion test the FSP AA6061-T6/SiCp exhibited significantly greater corrosion resistance in I-pass than compared to the III-pass and as-received Al alloy

In this study, friction stir processing has been applied to fabricate Al/Al2O3 and Al/SiC surface nanocomposites. Nano sized Al2O3, and SiC particles were used as a reinforcement whereas 6061-T6 aluminum alloy was selected as matrix material. The experiments were conducted at constant process parameters (1150 rpm and 15 mm/min) with changing volume percentage (2, 4 and 6) of nano reinforcements. The approach compared the effect of nano reinforcement on microstructural, mechanical, microhardness and wear properties of surface nanocomposites. Microstructure examinations revealed that Al2O3 and SiC nano particles were distributed into the processed region mainly in the form of clusters. Also, with increasing volume percentage of nano reinforcement increasing the defect formation. Vickers microhardness and tensile tests were conducted to study the mechanical properties of the surface nanocomposites. Superior microhardness properties were obtained along the stir zone. The addition of ceramic particle into the matrix material leads to increase in microhardness but simultaneously decreases yielding strength with an increase of wear resistance. The average coefficient of friction of Al/SiC composites were reduced than Al/Al2O3 composites. The effect of nano reinforcements on wear resistance was increased with increasing volume percentage of nano particles into the matrix material.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5755/j01.ms.24.3.18220</p

AbstractThe influence of grain refining elements such as copper (Cu) and aluminium (Al) on mechanical properties of AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel welds through gas tungsten arc welding process was studied. Cu (foil form) and Al powder of −100μm mesh was added in the range from 1 to 3g between the butt joint of ferritic stainless steel. In order to investigate the influence of post-weld heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of welds, post-weld annealing was adopted at 830°C, 30min holding followed by water quenching. Corrosion behaviour of ferritic stainless steel welds was also studied. From this investigation, it is observed that the joints made by the addition of 2g Al (2.4wt.%) in post-weld annealed condition led to improved strength. There is a marginal improvement in the ductility and pitting corrosion resistance of ferritic stainless steel welds by the addition of 2g Cu (0.18wt.%) in post-weld annealed condition. The observed mechanical properties have been correlated with microstructure, fracture features and corrosion behaviour of ferritic stainless steel weldments

Hypertension is the very common chronic disease in rural, urban and semi-urban areas of today's world, which needs continuous monitoring and treatment through out the life. Lack of education, lifestyle modification, and low level of understanding on disease management in rural people will influence directly on their quality of life (QOL). The objective of this study was to know the impact of clinical pharmacist interventions on medication adherence and QOL. It was a prospective, randomized and interventional study. Fifty-six patients were enrolled; only 52 patients completed the study. Interventional group patients received patient counselling, patient information leaflets (PILS), and frequent telephonic reminding. In the baseline, first and second follow-ups, medication adherence and QOL were assessed by using Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS) and Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS) Questionnaires and SF-12v2 Quality of life Questionnaire in both the groups. The results showed that systolic blood pressure P value in the second follow-up was 0.086+ when compared to baseline follow-up P value 0.094. The diastolic blood pressure reading of the intervention group at the second follow-up was 77.73 ± 3.63 in mmHg when compared to the baseline, i.e. 86.62 ± 11.35 in mmHg. The MMAS and MARS scores P values were 0.007**, 1.000, <0.001**; 0.007, 0.014 and 0.000 at the baseline, first and second follow-ups, respectively. The QOL score P values of physical component scale and mental component scale showed highly significant. This study concluded/showed that the impact of clinical pharmacist provided patient counselling had a positive impact on medication adherence and QOL

AbstractIn this investigation, the influence of tool rotational speed on wear and mechanical properties of aluminum alloy based surface hybrid composites fabricated via Friction stir processing (FSP) was studied. The fabricated surface hybrid composites have been examined by optical microscope for dispersion of reinforcement particles. Microstructures of all the surface hybrid composites revealed that the reinforcement particles (SiC, Gr and Al2O3) are uniformly dispersed in the nugget zone. It was observed that the microhardness decreases when increasing the rotational speed and showed higher microhardness value in Al–SiC/Al2O3 surface hybrid composite due to presence and pining effect of hard SiC and Al2O3 particles. It was also observed that high wear resistance exhibited in the Al–SiC/Gr surface hybrid composites due to presence of SiC and Gr acted as load bearing elements and solid lubricant respectively. The observed wear and mechanical properties have been correlated with microstructures and worn micrographs

From the results, it observed that the SiC particles are well distributed homogenously inside the nugget zone without any defects, obtained good bonding between the SiC particles and Al matrix alloy. The micro hardness of nugget zone with SiC particles is more compare to the as-received Al alloy due to the dispersion of SiC particles. It found that, exhibited superior dry sliding wear resistance and significant improvement SIC resistance of FSPed Aluminum alloy 6061-T6/SiCp composite is compare with as-received Al alloy
