Hydrazinolysis of ethyl-5-morpholin-4-yl-1-(1H-pyrrol-1-yl)-6,7,8,9-tetrahydrothieno[2,3-c]iso- quinoline-2-carboxylate  afforded the corresponding carbo- hydrazide which upon condensation with aromatic aldehydes, acetyl acetone and/ or carbon disulfide gave N- arylidinecarbohydrazide, dimethylpyrazolyl methanone, [1,3,4]oxadiazole-2-thiol and its ethyl ester derivatives respectively. Diazotization of the carbohydrazide with nitrous acid afforded the corresponding carboazide which was used for synthesis of carbamates and substituted carboxamides. Boiling of the carboazide in dry xylene afforded the pyrazinone compound which was used for synthesis of other heterocycles containing pyrrolopyrazinothinoisoquinoline moeity

Synthesis, Characterization And Selected Application Of Chitosan-coated Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

In this research, we report an efficient method to prepare highly active chitosan-coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles by implementing co-precipitation technique which is used for wastewater treatment applications. Chitosan-coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized using TEM, XRD, and XPS. A comparative study has been made between chitosan powder and chitosan coated with magnetic nanoparticles with respect to the rate of adsorption of copper from aqueous solution. It was also experimentally verified that chitosan coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles are much more effective in adsorption of heavy metals than chitosan powder and it takes just few minutes instead of hours. Moreover, the super paramagnetic behavior of the chitosan coated with iron oxide nanoparticles enabled the easy removal through applying an external magnetic field and hence leaving the solution free from copper

Problems in Translating Metaphors in Political Campaign Speeches: A Descriptive-Analytical Study

    Get PDF
This study examines Sultan Qaboos University senior translation students’ renditions of metaphors taken from speeches delivered as part of the 2016 US presidential election campaign. An explanatory mixed-methods approach is used to determine, firstly, students’ recognition of the metaphor as a construct; secondly, their translation of identified metaphors and the ensuing difficulties they encountered owing to linguistic, rhetorical, and/or cultural considerations; and finally the strategies they adopted to overcome these difficulties. The findings reveal that the students encountered difficulties recognising certain metaphors in the English texts (STs) and faced considerable challenges in translating them appropriately into the target language (TL), which is Arabic. The study concludes with recommendations for translation teachers and translator trainers

Textile designs are one of the most important means to attract the consumer and market of the textile product, and since the operational methods are based on experience and simulation without reference to accurate technical standards, where the implementation methods often simulate some imported designs without developing the operational methods and their suitability for performance Career.Gobelin fabrics are one of the ancient textile methods, used in the production of upholstery and hanging fabrics , where the main purpose of the research is to developing innovative methods for designing Gobelin fabrics, where most of the goblin designs execute in a stereotypical style that depends, as in the first experiment, which use three weft colors, but the second experiment use five weft colors and third experiment use six weft colors , which not used in the market and are implemented with innovative textile structures from the researcher’s hypotheses by varying the number of colors and raw materials of the weft used , through the difference in the number of colors and type of weft materials used , to determine the effectiveness of the artistic and technical performance of each design method , which create competition in the design field quickly , to fit the positive requirements of production . The main variables to methods and curriculum design innovative by the researcher to control their rates to determine the technical dimensional as follows: -1. Variation in the number of weft colors used (3colors - 5 colors - 6 colors).2. Type of weft materials used (cotton - polyester).By this method, 6 samples were produced for one design suitable for use with Goblan fabrics. The samples were woven and the executive methods used in the implementation of the research samples were analyzed, and the best method was selected from them based on a questionnaire presented to specialists

Molecular characterization of aviadenovirus serotypes and pathogenicity of the identified adenovirus in broiler chickens

Inclusion body hepatitis (IBH) is an economically significant viral disease that primarily affects broiler chickens. At least 12 different aviadenovirus serotypes are responsible for causing IBH. This study aimed to use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and phylogenetic analysis to characterize fowl adenovirus isolates that were in circulation from 2019 to 2021 and investigate the pathogenicity of the isolated strains in commercial broiler chickens. Suspected liver samples were molecularly identified using hexon gene targeting by PCR, and viruses were isolated using chick embryo liver cell culture. For serotype identification, the fowl adenovirus-positive samples were subjected to hexon gene sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. The pathogenicity of two isolates was tested in commercial chickens via the oral route. The phylogenetic analysis of the hexon gene showed that the isolated viruses clustered with serotype 8a species E. On testing the pathogenicity of the isolates based on necropsy and histopathological examination, no mortality was observed; however, lesions were observed in the liver, kidney, heart, pancreas, bursa, and lung specimens with intermittent virus shedding at different time points throughout the experimental period. Further research on the likelihood of vaccine production is warranted to limit disease-related losses
