From Ejtm (European Journal of Translational Myology) to Ejt3M (European Journal of Translational Myology, Mobility, Medicine)

This first 2018 issue of the European Journal of Translational Myology presents many novelties, that demonstrate that the journal is vital and expanding its authorship, readership and relevance from focused fields of biology, physiology, diagnostic, management and rehabilitation of skeletal muscle tissue to the interesting and clinically relevant fields of human mobility and to those of general medicine. The Editorial Board is consequently being expanded to allow fair and expert evaluation of the broader interests and expertise of the Authors submitting manuscripts. Furthermore, we are considering the option to change the title of the journal from Ejtm to Ejt3M (Myology, Mobility, Medicine). Criticisms and suggestions are welcome

The interplay between representable functionals and derivations on Banach quasi *-algebras

This note aims to highlight the link between representable functionals and derivations on a Banach quasi *-algebra, i.e. a mathematical structure that can be seen as the completion of a normed *-algebra in the case the multiplication is only separately continuous. Representable functionals and derivations have been investigated in previous papers for their importance concerning the study of the structure properties of a Banach quasi *-algebra and applications to quantum models.Comment: Contribution Proceedings of International Conference on Topological Algebras and Applications 201

Einstein supergravity amplitudes from twistor-string theory

This paper gives a twistor-string formulation for all tree amplitudes of Einstein (super-)gravities for N=0 and 4. Formulae are given with and without cosmological constant and with various possibilities for the gauging. The formulae are justified by use of Maldacena's observation that conformal gravity tree amplitudes with Einstein wave functions and non-zero cosmological constant will correctly give the Einstein tree amplitudes. This justifies the construction of Einstein gravity amplitudes at N=0 from twistor-string theory and is extended to N=4 by requiring the standard relation between the MHV-degree and the degree of the rational curve for Yang-Mills; this systematically excludes the spurious conformal supergravity gravity contributions. For comparison, BCFW recursion is used to obtain twistor-string-like formulae at degree zero and one (anti-MHV and MHV) for amplitudes with N=8 supersymmetry with and without cosmological constant.Comment: 20 pages. v2: minor corrections & clarification of relation to formulae of Maldacena & Pimentel and Raju; v3: appendix on BCFW recursion added, published version. v4: Full derivation for 3 point MHV amplitude now include

Representable and continuous functionals on Banach quasi *-algebras

In the study of locally convex quasi *-algebras an important role is played by representable linear functionals; i.e., functionals which allow a GNS-construction. This paper is mainly devoted to the study of the continuity of representable functionals in Banach and Hilbert quasi *-algebras. Some other concepts related to representable functionals (full-representability, *-semisimplicity, etc) are revisited in these special cases. In particular, in the case of Hilbert quasi *-algebras, which are shown to be fully representable, the existence of a 1-1 correspondence between positive, bounded elements (defined in an appropriate way) and continuous representable functionals is proved

    Color Fields on the Light-Shell

We study the classical color radiation from very high energy collisions that produce colored particles. In the extreme high energy limit, the classical color fields are confined to a light-shell expanding at cc and are associated with a non-linear σ\sigma-model on the 2D light-shell with specific symmetry breaking terms. We argue that the quantum version of this picture exhibits asymptotic freedom and may be a useful starting point for an effective light-shell theory of the structure between the jets at a very high energy collider.Comment: 11 pages, no figure
