The way women are portrayed in the Egyptian TV series Il-Kabīr Awī
Il-Kabīr Awī is a Ramaḍān TV series that was very popular in Egypt from 2010–2015 and continues to be shown on different TV channels. On his deathbed, the ʿumda, mayor of a village in Upper Egypt informs his son that he has lived a lie his entire life – his son’s mother is an American, and gave birth to twins. The father summons his American descendant, second of the twins, to come to Il-Mazārīṭa and receive his inheritance. This series provides excellent research material for an analysis of cultural differences and stereotypical perspectives. The main crux of the series is the adventures of the ʿumda’s sons. For this article, the research area concerns the portrayal of women. The research paper allows us to get to know how women are shown, and if the image the TV show presents of women is in any way compatible with reality. The author considers whether the way in which the female gender is represented simply presents a stereotypical viewpoint or it could send any messages to the public
PLFAs of the microbial communities in composting mixtures of agro-industry sludge with different proportions of household waste
Phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) were analysed at different time periods during composting of two waste mixtures rich in fats, M1 (22%) and M2 (39%), with the aim of monitoring changes in microbial community structure. The two mixtures consisted of a sludge sample collected from a vegetable oil refinery effluent treatment plant combined with household wastes. The PLFA profiles of both mixtures revealed that, at the start of the process, fungi and Gram-negative bacteria (GÀ) were more abundant in M2 than in M1. During the thermophilic phase, branched PLFA (i15:0, a15:0, i16:0, and i17:0) markers of Gram-positive bacteria (Gþ), became more abundant in M1, while G- bacteria were predominant in M2. The PLFA profiles in M1 representing non-specific, Gþ and GÀ bacteria as well as fungi decreased during the cooling phase (maturation) while an increase was recorded in M2, which was richer in fats. The ShannoneWeaver diversity index (Ish) showed a greater increase during M1 composting (from 0.69 to 1.05), mainly for Gþ bacteria and GÀ bacteria, than in M2 composting (from 0.79 to 0.84). Principal components and cluster analyses revealed a succession of different communities during composting, which varied from fungi and GÀ bacteria to Gþ and thermophilic and thermotolerant GÀ bacteria. The end of composting was characterized by a reduction of all these microbial entities, especially for M1, except actinomycetes, which are associated with compost stability
The competence of the Federal Public Prosecutor and the Prosecution for Emergencies, Crises and Disasters in Accordance with the Regulation for Controlling Violations of Precautionary Measures to Limit the Spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19) and with the Federal Criminal Procedure Code
The research focuses on the importance of the decision of the Minister of Health and Prevention to add (Covid 19) to the schedule of communicable diseases. The decision entails the issuance of administrative regulations to control the spread of (Covid19) and the strict enforcement of Federal Criminal Code
The research discusses the problematic legal basis for delegating the power to the Federal Public Prosecutor to determine violations of the precautionary measures imposed to limit the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19).) and to decide the value of the fines against the violations of the precautionary measures
It also examines whether the competence of the Federal Attorney General is considered as an exclusive competence; or a general one which can be exercised by members of the Federal Public Prosecution
Finally, the research raises the problem of defining the criterion separating between the administrative and the judicial competencies assigned to the Federal Prosecution for Emergencies, Crises and Disasters for violating the precautionary measures, instructions and duties imposed to curb the spread of (Covid 19

The usefulness of Veno-Arterial Extracorporeal Membranous Oxygenation in Patients with Cardiogenic Shock
BACKGROUND: Venoarterial extracorporeal membranous oxygenation is a form of temporary mechanical circulatory support that gets as a salvage technique in patients with cardiogenic shock, we intended to evaluate the effect of (VA ECMO) support on hemodynamics and lactate levels in patients with cardiogenic shock.AIM: The aim of our study is to detect the ability to introduce veno-arterial extracorporeal membranous oxygenation (VA ECMO) as a temporary extracorporeal life support system (ECLS) in our unit, demonstrate the role of ECMO in cardiogenic shock patients regarding improving hemodynamics and microcirculation, and demonstrate the complications and drawbacks in our first center experience regarding VA ECMO.MATERIAL AND METHODS: This was a single-centre observational study that included 10 patients admitted with cardiogenic shock for which VA ECMO was used as mechanical circulatory support. RESULTS: The MAP increased after initiation of the support. It was 41.8 ± 9.3 mmHg and 59.5 ± 6.8 mmHg (P = 0.005). The use of VA ECMO support was associated with a statistically significant decrease in the base deficit (-10.6 ± 4.2 and -6.3 ± 7.4, P = 0.038). The serum lactate declined from 5.9 ± 3.5 mmoL/L to 0.6 ± 4.4 mmoL/L by the use of VA ECMO; a statistically significant change (P = 0.005).CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that VA ECMO as mechanical support for patients with cardiogenic shock might improve mean arterial blood pressure, base deficit and lactate clearance
Bliski Wschód wobec wyzwań i zagrożeń współczesności
Rozdział A.A.
Structural and optical properties of nanocrystalline tin sulphide thin films deposited by thermal evaporation
Thermal evaporation technique was used to fabricate the nanocrystalline tin sulphide (SbS) thin films of thicknesses 200 and 377 nm on good quality glass substrate. The various physical properties of deposited thin films have been investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), and ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectroscopy at room temperature. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the orthorhombic phase of SnS films and the calculated lattice parameters have been calculated. The grain size, dislocation density and micro strain have been calculated using X-ray data. The result from AFM analysis shows that the surface of films was compact, dense and smooth. The optical band gap and types of transitions involved in the absorption process have been investigated. For allowed direct and indirect transition, the band gap values varied in the range 1.96-1.72 eV and 1.58-0.92 eV, respectively. The deduced values of the band gap suggest that the deposited thin films can be used in the fabrication of solar cell devices

The Egyptian Ramadan TV Series and National Fight with Drug Addiction
In 2019, half a million people all over the world died as a result of drug abuse. This topic is a very sensitive issue in a number of countries, including the Arab Republic of Egypt, where the government informs its citizens every few months about steps to take to combat this problem. Creating a TV series to be aired during Ramaḍān, the most important part of year from the Islamic point of view and also because of the media industry, is one of the tools to create awareness of the danger of drug addiction. In the article, the results of the research conducted on a very popular Ramaḍān TV series from 2015 entitled Taḥt as-Sayṭara are presented. The research focused on the presentation of this problem, in particular whether or not the problem was presented in a realistic way, thus aiding in the fight with drug addiction. This series was special, as it was the first and the only which was devoted so directly to the problem of drug addiction; the sickness covered about 89‒90% of the plot
