Adapun menentukan biaya usaha Seblak Naha Rindu dapat diketahui dengan 10 kegiatan yaitu a) promosi produk, b) riset inovasi produk, c) gaji karyawan, d) pemasangan instalasi jaringan internet, e) bahan baku, f) alat perlengkapan, g) tata ruang, h) kartu member pelanggan, i) lain-lain, j) pelatihan SDM karyawan.   Kata Kunci: Prinsip Pareto; Penentuan Biaya; Usaha Seblak; Naha Rindu.     ABSTRACT   This study aims to determine the implementation of the Pareto Principle and to determine the cost requirements for the Seblak Naha Rindu food culinary business. The research method uses Pareto Diagrams. The research was conducted for four months from September to December 2022 with the object of the seblak business managed by four STIE Ganesha Jakarta students. Data processing techniques are carried out by making Pareto diagrams, observations, and field observations. This principle states that in most cases 80% of the consequences are caused by 20% of the causes. Based on the research results, there are 11 Seblak Naha Rindu business problems that need to be resolved immediately by business actors. The sequence of problems starting from the most urgent to be resolved immediately includes a) incessant promotion, b) product innovation, c) processed products are not cooked / evenly distributed, d) uneven seasoning doses and e) lack of skilled human resources in cooking, f) menu variants are not updated, g) expired raw materials, and h) uncomfortable/dirty business locations. Furthermore, i)  there are no internet facilities, j) layout of the business location, and k) customer member cards. As for determining the cost of Seblak Naha Rindu's business, it can be found with 10 activities, namely a) product promotion, b) product innovation research, c) employee salaries, d) internet network installation, e) raw materials, f) equipment, g) layout, h) customer member cards, i) others, j) employee HR training.   Keywords : Pareto Principle; Costing, Seblak Business, Naha Rind

Organic rankine cycle (ORC) system applications for solar energy: Recent technological advances

© 2019 by the authors. Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power generation systems may be used to utilize heat source with low pressure and low temperature such as solar energy. Many researchers have focused on different aspects ofORCpower generation systems, but none so far has focused on the patent landscape of ORC system applications. As such, the objective of this study is to identify published patents on ORC system applications, particularly for solar energy. Four (4) technologies were identified in ORC application for solar energy: parabolic dish, parabolic trough, solar tower, and linear Fresnel reflector. A methodical search and analysis of the patent landscape in ORC system applications for solar energy published between 2007-2018 was conducted using the Derwent Innovation patent database. From the approximately 51 million patents in the database from various countries and patent agencies, 3859 patents were initially identified to be related to ORC applications for solar energy. After further stringent selection processes, only 1100 patents were included in this review. From these 1100 patents, approximately 12% (130 patents) are associated with parabolic dishes, about 39% (428 patents) are associated with parabolic troughs, approximately 21% (237 patents) are associated with solar towers, and about 28% (305 patents) are associated with linear Fresnel reflectors. Published patents on solar tower technology are currently on an increasing trend, led by China. All of these patents were published in the past 11 years. From this study, further researches on ORC application are still ongoing, but ORC application for solar energy has the potential to advance; allowing the world to ease issues related to over-reliance on fossil fuel

Development of energy labels based on consumer perspective: Room air conditioners as a case study in Brunei Darussalam

© 2018 The Authors For the past years, Brunei Darussalam has seen an increase in its electricity consumption with an average annual rate of increase of 3% per annum from the year 2011 to 2015. Like other developing countries with tropical climates, electricity consumption from air conditioning systems contributes a big part to this electricity consumption. The Energy Department of the Prime Minister's Office is considering the implementation of energy label for air-conditioning system; to provide guideline for consumers to compare efficiencies of their systems, encourage manufacturers to improve the energy efficiency of their systems and ultimately, to reduce the overall energy consumption of the country. This paper proposes a suitable energy label for air conditioning system in this country based on an online survey. Data from the survey shall be analysed to come up with consumers’ preferred energy label with suggestions used for its improvement. This label is also suitable for other electrical systems without major modification

Patent landscape review on biodiesel production: Technology updates

© 2019 Elsevier Ltd Biodiesel is a renewable fuel made from vegetable oils and animal fats. Compared with fossil fuels, it has the potential to alleviate environmental pressures and achieve sustainable development. In this paper, 1660 patents related to biodiesel production were reviewed. They were published between January 1999 and July 2018 and were retrieved from the Derwent Innovation patent database. The patents were grouped into five categories depending on whether they related to starting materials, pre-treatment methods, catalysts, reactors and processing methods, or testing methods. Their analysis shows that the availability of biodiesel starting materials depends on climate, geographical location, local soil conditions, and local agricultural practices. Starting materials constitute 75% of overall production costs and, therefore, it is crucial to select the best feedstock. Pre-treatment of feedstock can improve its suitability for processing and increase extraction effectiveness and oil yield. Catalysts can enhance the solubility of alcohol, leading to higher reaction rates, faster biodiesel production processes, and lower biodiesel production costs. Moreover, the apparatus and processes used strongly affect the oil yield and quality, and production cost. In order to be commercialized and marketed, biodiesel should pass either the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards or European Standards (EN). Due to increases in environmental awareness, it is likely that the number of published patents on biodiesel production will remain stable or even increase
