Schaumstrukturanalyse mit digitalen Bildverarbeitungsmethoden

The physical properties of polymer foams are essentially defined by the used materials and the inner cell structure of the foam. The foam structure itself is an important attribut of the product requirements for many technical foams. To control the quality of foams a reliable analysis method is essential. Characteristics which are determined are the cell density, the cell size and the area rate of the surface from the cells of a foam cut. For this analysis a system for optical cell analysis (OZELLA) was developed in this paper. The cells of the foam structure can be identified in a digital image, which has been taken with the flood light method, pre-processed by filters and followed by edge segmentation. The parameters for the segmentation filter, which can be edited by the user were optimised for inspection of a high band width of different foams. These parameters have been reduced to a minimum in order to enable the user to find with only a few iterations the suitable adjustment for the foam structure. The result can be checked with the overlay of the origin and the segmented image. Technologie des Schneidens von Prepregs mit ultraschallerregten Klingen

Ultraschallerregte Klingen sind fuer das Schneiden von den haeufig als Halbzeug zur Herstellung von Bauteilen aus faserverstaerkten Kunststoffen verwendeten Prepregs anwendbar. Das Verfahren ueberzeugt im praktischen Einsatz durch gegenueber den konkurrierenden Verfahren niedrigere Bearbeitungskraefte und bessere Schnittqualitaeten. Aufgrund des Fehlens grundlegender Erkenntnisse ueber die Trenn- und Verschleissmechanismen laesst sich aber das vorhandene Leistungspotential bei weitem nicht ausschoepfen. Aufgabe der vorliegenden Arbeit war es, die Trenn- und Verschleissmechanismen aufzuzeigen sowie die diese praegenden Einfluesse zu quantifizieren. Das Ziel war eine Optimierung des Prozesses im Hinblick auf zu erarbeitende Qualitaetskriterien. (orig./RHM)Ultrasound excited blades are applicable for the cutting of prepreg materials which are frequently used as semi-finished products for the manufacture of fiber-reinforced plastic components. The process convinces in practical applications by reduced machining forces and improved cutting quality as compared to competitive processes. Due to the lack of basic knowledge with respect to the cut-off and wear mechanisms, however, the existing performance potential cannot be utilized to its full extent. The purpose of the present doctoral thesis was to show the cutt-off and wear mechanisms and to quantify these characteristic influences. The objective was to optimize the process with respect to quality criteria to be developed.
