Capturing the industrial requirements of set-based design for CONGA framework
The Configuration Optimisation of Next-Generation Aircraft (CONGA) is a proposed framework in a response industrial need to enhance the aerospace capability in the UK. In order to successfully address this challenge, a need to develop a true multi-disciplinary Set-Based Design (SBD) capability that could deploy new technologies on novel configurations more quickly and with greater confidence was identified. This paper presents the first step towards the development of the SBD capabilities which is to elicit the industrial requirement of the SBD process for the key aerospace industrial partners involved in this CONGA approach

How can hackathons accelerate corporate innovation?
IFIP WG 5.7 International Conference, APMS 2018, Seoul, Korea, August 26-30, 2018, Proceedings, Part I In recent years, the way corporates innovate has changed significantly. Going from ‘behind closed doors’ innovation to open innovation where collaboration with outsiders is encouraged, companies are in the pursuit of more effective ways to accelerate their innovation outcomes. As a result, many companies are investing to create more entrepreneurial environments, which not only empower employees to proactively propose and test new ideas, but also reach beyond company walls to involve many others in the co-creation of new solutions. In this paper, we outline the most notable benefits of hackathons from the perspective of large organizations, and present the benefits and a methodology for organizing hackathons, i.e. competition-based events where participants work in small teams over a short period of time to ideate, design, rapidly prototype and test their ideas with a user-centric approach to solve a determined challenge. This paper also provides a brief insight into the CEMEX Hackathon, which was organized following the aforementioned methodology
A Driving Violation Index Modelling Study at Intersections in Urban Precincts Using Big Data
Driving violations at intersections are profoundly prevalent in urban precinct in China. These violations, including failing to stop for a red traffic light or arrow, driving across single continuous dividing line, disobeying traffic lane markings, and illegal parking, have become a major issue not only impacting the overall safety of the cities, but also causing traffic delays and accidents. This article focuses on the behaviors of the driving violations at intersections, and investigates what the influencing factors and characteristics are. A model of Driving Violation Index (DVI) for these driving violations at intersections has been developed by utilizing the Big Data approach. Based on the actual traffic data from the intersections in the city of Tianjin, a relationship has been fitted and established between the driving violations and the influencing factors, and further yielded the model of calculating the related DVI. This research attempts to provide a mechanism to forecast the driving violations at intersections, and explore new strategies for managing the security and safety of the intersections
Search for the decay at Belle
We report a search for the rare charmless decay
using a data sample of
pairs collected at the resonance with
the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. No
statistically significant signal is found and a 90% confidence-level upper
limit is set on the decay branching fraction as .Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, submitted to PRD(RC
Search for and a measurement of the branching fraction for
We search for the decay and measure the
branching fraction for using
121.4~ of data collected at the
resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy
collider. The branching fraction is measured
to be , where is the fraction of
in events. Our result is in good
agreement with the theoretical predictions as well as with a recent measurement
from LHCb. We observe no statistically significant signal for the decay
and set a confidence-level upper
limit on its branching fraction at . This constitutes a
significant improvement over the previous result.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
Measurement of via initial state radiation at Belle
The process (=1, 2) is studied via initial
state radiation using 980 fb of data at and around the
(=1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB
asymmetric-energy collider. No significant signal is observed except
from decays. Upper limits on the cross sections between
and are determined at the 90% credibility
level, which range from few pb to a few tens of pb. We also set upper limits on
the decay rate of the vector charmonium [), , and
] and charmoniumlike [, , and ] states
to .Comment: Accepted by PR
Evidence of and search for double-charmonium production in and decays
Using data samples of and
events collected with the Belle detector, a first experimental
search has been made for double-charmonium production in the exclusive decays
, where , , , , and . No significant signal is
observed in the spectra of the mass recoiling against the reconstructed
or except for the evidence of production with a
significance of for . The
measured branching fraction \BR(\Upsilon(1S)\rightarrow J/\psi+\chi_{c1}) is
. The
confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions of the other modes
having a significance of less than are determined. These results are
consistent with theoretical calculations using the nonrelativistic QCD
factorization approach.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. The fit range was extended to include
X(4160) signal according to referee's suggestions. Other results unchanged.

Observation of and search for violation in radiative charm decays
We report the first observation of the radiative charm decay and the first search for violation in decays , , and , using a data sample of
943 fb collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy
collider. The branching fraction is measured to be , where the first
uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The obtained
asymmetries, , , and
, are consistent with no violation. We also present an improved
measurement of the branching fractions and
Observation of a new charged charmoniumlike state in B -> J/psi K pi decays
We present the results of an amplitude analysis of anti-B0 -> J/psi K- pi+
decays. A new charged charmoniumlike state Zc(4200)+ decaying to J/psi pi+ is
observed with a significance of 6.2 sigma. The mass and width of the Zc(4200)+
are 4196 +31-29 +17-13 MeV/c^2 and 370 +70-70 +70-132 MeV, respectively; the
preferred assignment of the quantum numbers is J^P = 1^+. In addition, we find
evidence for Zc(4430)+ -> J/psi pi+. The analysis is based on a 711 fb^-1 data
sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider
KEKB.Comment: 14 pages, 13 figure
