    Influence of Supplemental Methionine on Growth Performance of Uda Lambs in a Semi-Arid Environment

    A twelve week feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of supplementing methionine on growth performance of lambs. A total of twelve growing lambs were randomly allocated to three dietary treatments containing graded methionine levels in a completely randomised experimental design. The animals were fed diets containing 0 (control), 2 and 4g/kg methionine. Results indicated significant differences (P<0.05) between treatment means in terms of feed intake and live weight changes. Animals fed diets containing 2g/ kg methionine were better (P <0.05) compared to other treatments in terms of feed intake and growth performance. It was concluded that 2g/kg methionine gave the optimum performance

    Ochna schweinfurthiana (Os, Family: Ochnaceae) is a small evergreen tree used in ethnomedicine to treat different ailments; it is also used in agri-horticulture and as ornaments, dyes among others. It is a rich source of complex dimers of flavonoids and used for treatment of pain, inflammation, and arthritis. Chemical investigations carried out on the different parts of the plant have been confined to phenolic compounds majorly, bioflavonoids, glycosides, steroids and terpenes. The plant, O. schweinfurthiana have shown a wide spectrum of biological and pharmacological properties which include antimicrobial, cytotoxic/antiproliferative, genotoxicity, antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiplasmodial.  This review comprehensively summarizes the potential effects of the plant O. schweinfurthiana, chemically and pharmacologically.     Limited technology and information, as well as teachers who do not maximize the use of technology in learning, it is necessary to have learning media that utilize technology that can facilitate an educator in conveying material or information to educators. The technology that is currently being developed is Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The use of technology and information has also changed the way of communication. The era of the 21st century demands that every student be able to communicate visually, especially in biology materials whose concepts are partly abstract and require visual assistance. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Augmented Reality on the visual communication skills of students in one of the high schools in Sukabumi Regency. The method used in this research is Quasi-experiment (quasi-experiment). The research design used is Posttest-Only Control Group Design with purposive sampling. This research was conducted on class XI students in the 2021/2022 academic year. The instrument used is in the form of a Mind Map task. The research data shows that learning using Augmented Reality can train students' visual communication with the visible improvement of the results of making Mind Map, namely the average overall score of 77% in the good category, with the results on the Mind Map task 1 obtained an average of 72% and Mind Map task 2 obtained an average of 82% and the average of student motivation is 3,85 with good category. So it can be concluded that the use of Augmented Reality learning media has an effect on increasing students' visual communication skills and is useful in the learning process in measuring students' skills and student motivation. Era abad 21 ini menuntut agar setiap siswa mampu berkomunikasi visual, terutama dalam materi biologi yang konsepnya sebagian bersifat abstrak dan memerlukan bantuan visual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran Augmented Realityterhadap kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa di salah satu SMA yang berada di Kabupaten Sukabumi. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Quasi-experiment (eksperimen semu). Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Posttest-Only Control Group Design dengan teknik pengambilan sampel Purposive Sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Instrumen yang digunakan ini berupa tugas pembuatan Mind Map. Data hasil penelitian menunjukan pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran Augmented Reality dapat melatih komunikasi visual siswa dengan terlihatnya peningkatan dari hasil pembuatan Mind Map yaitu rata rata nilai keseluruhan sebesar 77% dengan kategori baik, dengan hasil pada tugas Mind Map 1 diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 72% dan tugas Mind Map 2 diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 82% dan rata-rata nilai motivasi siswa sebesar 3,85 dengan kategori baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran Augmented Reality berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi visual siswa dan berguna dalam proses pembelajaran dalam mengukur kemampuan keterampilan siswa dan juga motivasi siswa .  Kata kunci: Augmented Reality, Komunikasi visual, Motivasi Sisw

    RISK ANALYSIS OF SHARIA STOCKS IN THE INFRASTRUCTURE, UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION SECTOR LISTED ON THE JAKARTA ISLAMIC INDEX (JII) 2015-2023

    This research is intended to analyze the risk comparison using the Value at Risk (VaR) Variance Covariance and Value at Risk (VaR) Historical Simulation models in the Infrastructure, Utilities and Transportation subsectors. The development of infrastructure, utilities, and transportation plays a very important role in national development and is the main driver of regional growth and the industrial sector. Improvements in the regulatory and investment policy framework are expected to significantly increase the availability of infrastructure facilities and services. The population involved in this study includes 9 companies listed in the JII in the Infrastructure, Utilities, and Transportation sector, which are used as samples. The data used is secondary data obtained from www.yahoo.finance.com. Data analysis was carried out using a two-sample average test. The test results of the Value at Risk (VaR) Historical Simulation and Variance Covariance values are largest in INDX stocks, followed by other stocks, and those with the lowest risk level are TLKM stocks for the upcoming 5-day, 7-day, and 15-day periods with good values for alpha 1%, 5%, and 10%. The results concluded that the comparison between VaR Variance Covariance and VaR Historical Simulation produces a good level of risk and helps in determining sectors that are worth investing in the future, and can describe the fundamental strength of each sector

    Phytochemical Screening, Polyphenolic Content and Alpha-Glucosidase Inhibitory Potential of Leptadenia hastata (Pers.) Decne

    Leptadenia hastata (Pers.) Decne. (Asclepiadaceae) is widely used as vegetable and traditionally in the management of diabetes mellitus and in the treatment of wounds and stomach ache. In this study, phytochemical screening, total phenolic contents and alpha-glucosidase activity of L. hastata leaf extracts were evaluated with the view to validating its antidiabetic potentials. Acetone, methanol and water extracts were screened for the polyphenolic contents while methanol and water extract were used for the evaluation of alpha-glucosidase activity. Phytochemical screening of L. hastata leaf indicated the presence of phenolic glycosides, tannins, flavonoids, proanthocyanidins, alkaloids and saponins. The total phenolics, total flavonoids and proanthocyanidins contents were in the ranges of 17-38, 10-16 and 4-10 mg/g respectively depending on the extraction solvent. The methanol and water extracts had 69.81 and 37.02 % inhibitory effect on alpha-glucosidase activity respectively. The results indicated that L. hastata leaf is rich in polyphenols and possess significant alpha-glucosidase inhibition potential and may therefore be a source of lead compounds in the management of diabetes mellitus and/or other diseases that may be caused by oxidative stress.Keywords: Leptadenia hastata, phytochemicals, polyphenols, alpha-glucosidase, effect, inhibitionNigerian Journal of Basic and Applied Science (2011), 19 (2): 181-18

Thermoelectric system that we researched was using 10 pieces of thermoelectric TEG-SP1848-27145 SA that arranged in a series with varieties of burning media such as firewood, gas LPG and spitrus. The use of different burning media affect the output of voltage that supplied by the thermoelectric. The difference temperature between the cold and hot side of termoelktrik generator (ΔT) when a steady state is 35 ° C using fuel wood, 39 ° C using a fuel gas and LPG and 20 oC using methylated. Optimal voltage is supplied by gas fuel LPG (ΔT) 39 ° C with output 1.62 volt

    Learning activities can be carried out in or outside the classroom. Learning outside the classroom, such as field observations, is an excellent learning activity. This paper discusses the development of a field observation practicum guide for bird bioecology Megapodius reinwardt. The goal is to develop and assess the feasibility of the developed practical guide, the process of scientific literacy, and the critical thinking skills of prospective biology teacher students through three stages: define, design, and develop. Data collection through observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive quantitative. An average of 77% obtained the results of the practical guide validation, which means worthy. The process of scientific literacy of prospective biology teacher students, on average, obtains a good predicate.     Pengaruh Parent Attachment terhadap Celebrity Worship pada Fandom EXO-L

    Celebrity worship merupakan variabel yang sering dikaitkan dengan berbagai variable lain, seperti body image, agresfitas, perilaku konsumtif dan lain sebagainya. Sementara itu penelitian yang berusaha untuk mengetahui apa penyebab munculnya perilaku celebrity worship atau penelitian yang menjadikan celebrity worship sebagai variabel dependen tidak banyak ditemukan, khususnya di Indonesia. Penelitian tersebut sebenarnya penting agar dampak negatif celebrity worship bisa diintervensi dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang tepat atau bisa dilakukan tindakan preventif sebelum perilaku celebrity worship muncul. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penyebab munculnya perilaku celebrity worship pada remaja yang menjadi fans idol Group K-Pop EXO yang disebut Fandom Exo-L. beberapa penelitian menunjukan bahwa celebrity worship yang intens disebabkan oleh kurangnya kelekatan dengan orang tua dan ketidakhadiran orang tua mempengaruhi keinginan anak untuk memuja idola mereka. Dengan kajian literatur maka di putuskan bahwa penelitian ini akan melihat pengaruh parent attachment terhadap celebrity worship, di mana parent attachmnet sebagai variabel bebas dan Celebrity Worship sebagai variabel terikat. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 354 dari hasil sampling anggota grup facebook Official EXO-L Bandung, dari usia dan pendidikan yang beragam. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi linier sederhana.     Comparative Studies of Gasoline Samples Used in Nigeria

    Comparative analysis was carried out on five samples of gasoline in the Nigerian market based on octane number, sulphur content, Reid vapour pressure, specific gravity, boiling point characteristics and chemical content. The result revealed that, Nigerian and Kuwait gasolines have low octane numbers in comparison to others. The Nigerian sample has the least sulphur content while the Holland has the highest. The specific gravities were all within the acceptable range of 0.75-0.85. Likewise the boiling point characteristics of all the samples were within suitable values in favour of Nigerian weather conditions. Chemical composition analysis shows high proportion of aromatics, above acceptable limits and low oxygenated compounds. The findings revealed that the quality of some gasolines being sold in Nigeria is below the international standard
