Overall Equipment Efficiency (Oee) Improvement Through Integrating Quality Tool: Case Study
The purpose of this paper is to develop a macro
framework that involving the implementation of integrating
quality tools on improving Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
in autoclave study as to achieve the world benchmark of Overall
Equipment Efficiency. A refinement of existing concept of OEE
approach is developed primarily based on literature review. The
methodology would be used as a set of standard operating
procedures to be followed along project flow. The primarily
procedures designed on emphasizing the observation and the
empirically collected data, while implementation of quality tools
are on analyzing the problem found in the previous stage of
study and proposed alternative remedies to optimize the OEE.
OEE as core quality tool in this study used to monitor the
performance and measure the effectiveness of the autoclave
curing process in order to achieve the world rating of OEE
benchmark. This paper discussed on the implementation of
integrating several quality tools which focus mainly to improve
the current performance of OEE
Employability Skills Assessment Tool Development
employability skills are crucial in outcome-based education, the main goal of this research is to develop an
Employability Skill Assessment Tool to help students and lecturers produce competent graduates in
employability skills needed by the industry. The employability skill Assessment Tool were developed using the
Kepner-Tregoe (K-T) method. Samples were 107 employers from five types of Malaysian manufacturing
industries. The findings showed that employers agreed on the importance for all seven of the employability skills;
interpersonal skills, thinking skills, personal qualities/values, resource skills, system & technology skills, basic
skills and informational skills. These skills were ranked and chosen as items for the Employability skills
assessment tool. The tool developed was tested and validated by manufacturing employers and lecturers in
institutions. The agreement coefficient was found to be between substantial agreement and almost perfect
agreement
Sustainability of Green Technology in Malaysia Industry
The green technology is an innovation form of energy
and has become the popular issue in Malaysia. This paper is to
explore the opportunities by support of innovation development
which brings to sustainability of green technology in Malaysia.
Through literature review and empirical evidence, the
Malaysian government has played a role in a strong condition
to make sure the sustainability of environmental by introducing
the strong policies. The establishment of incentive and budget
of green technology can be fully utilized by the nation. The
study is the first attempt to explore the innovation development
in green technology in Malaysi
Workshop Store Room Improvement With 5s: A Case Study
Implementing the 5S technique at workshop store
room to solve the problems observed is the main focus of this
paper. In order to achieve the main purpose of the study, four
specific objectives have been defined. First, is to understand the
concept and theories of 5S. Second, to observe the problems
occurred in the workshop store room. Third, implement 5S
technique which consists of 5 pillars: sorting, set in order,
shines, standardizes and sustains to solve the problems
occurred at the workshop store room. Finally, measure the
improvement at workplace area after implementing 5S
technique
IMPORTANCE OF EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS AS PERCEIVED BY EMPLOYERS OF MALAYSIAN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
technical skills and should be acquired by an employee in the industrial
sector today. Unfortunately not all employees today acquired employability
skills that are expected by the employer. This study is carried out to identify
aspects of the employability skills and its relationship with the requirement
of the employer in the manufacturing industries. Samples for the research
consist of 107 employers from manufacturing industry and this study
has been done to companies in the manufacturing industry and grouped
into three which are type of industry, company size and ownership status.
Analysis of the survey, managed to determine important aspects of the
employability skills needed by employers in the manufacturing industries.
The skills were ranked and results showed that all seven of the employability
were considered important by Malaysian manufacturing industry with
the basic skill, thinking skill, sources skill, resources skill, system and
technology skill and personal qualities were most important skills whereas
informational skill was considered moderately important
A Study on the Effect of Different Interconnection Materials (Wire and Bond Pad) on Ball Bond Strength after Temperature Cycle Stress
Interconnection material is a important element in
the industry. This study is investigate the effect of different
interconnection materials on ball bond strength and study the
effect of temperature cycling stress test on the ball bond
strength. The literature review is based on comprehensive
literature review from previous study. The strength on different
interconnection materials of wire (gold and aluminum) and
bond pad (copper and aluminum) after temperature cycle is
investigated by using DMAIC methodology. The study is started
with the reliability test with various Temperature Cycle (TC)
stress and Failure Analysis testing was carried out to collect the
wire pull strength value and ball shear strength value of
different device
Evolution Sustainable Innovation Management in China
Innovation performance in China has become the
focus of many studies. Rapid growth in China has brought the
topic of innovation in China into discussion. In today business,
innovation is the only way to achieve goals and objectives that
lead to sustainable growth. Thus in this paper the question we
proposed is how technical capabilities, R&D centers and
research institutions, and human capital all together affect
innovation performance in China. Previous studies on
innovation in China have examined innovation performance
regarding economic and marketing aspects. Following
discussion highlights the importance of each variable base on
number of studies has conducted to study that particular
variable
A Review of Problem Solving Capabilities in Lean Process Management
Human factor plays an important role in ensuring lean process management to be
successful and provides good proposition for the success of the organization in the long run. One of the
main elements of people is their problem solving capability in identifying and eliminating wastages.
The purpose of this paper was to review problem solving capabilities in lean process management; and
identifying the important factors and needs for lean process management. Beside that the paper also
proposed the conceptual framework of people development system which can help organizations to
enhance employees’ capability in identifying and eliminating wastages continuously and effectively
Lean Behavior in Implementing Lean Process Management
Lean is one of the popular concept has been practiced in most company. However, there are
a lot of companies who implement lean are not realized whether lean level of company is improve or
relegate .Thus, it is important to inspect the lean result after implementation of lean. So, this study
presents to make the result comparison for lean behavior after implement lean for one year thru People
development system which improves problem solving capabilities of people in eliminating wastages.
Furthermore, the importance of problem solving capabilities of people in implementing lean process
management also will be discussed. The survey was conduct in an aero composite manufacturer kitting
department. Self-administered questionnaire has been selected to be the survey instrument. These
questionnaires were distributed to 45 employees work in the kitting department. Results of feedback are
collected and analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 13.
The outputs of the analysis were in the form of index values, percentages and hypothesis testing. The result
showed the improvement on lean behavior with the help of people development system implementation
which enhance the people capabilities in eliminating wastages. These are supported by comparing the
survey results on lean behavior for beginning and end of the year with the monitoring of real life data
on the case study
Sustainability of International Standards Organisation 14001 Standards through Integration with Lean Principles
Both Lean and Environmental Management System (EMS) are key
business processes which are employed by companies to enhance their manufacturing process and quality
performance. ISO 14001 requires a commitment to continual improvement. Yet it does not prescribe how a
company should seek the continual improvement. Lean is a process improvement method that helps
companies that use it to continually improve. This study analyses these two systems and provides an
understanding of how these processes had contributed in improving business efficiencies. Approach: The
research methodology applied in the context of this study involved both primary and secondary research
methods in gaining a deeper and practical insight into the issues facing Lean and EMS integration. The
primary data collection process involved the use of questionnaires for the purpose of gaining a practical
insight into the research issue. The literature review summarized the evidence collected from various
secondary sources to enable an understanding of the scope, benefits and application of Lean and EMS systems.
Results: The findings contributed to the framing of new conceptual framework that combines benefits of
both Lean and EMS principles for enhanced business results. Conclusion: This study concluded that an
integrated business model can help organisations realize potential benefits and possibilities in the field of
business enhancement
