Research and Analysis Container Shipping Line on the Basis of Simulation

    Get PDF
Container transport is the main and leading form of transportation in shipping. Selection of the route for each voyage is determined by the nature of the traffic and operating conditions of the fleet. The best way to avoid any inconvenience when solving the predictive task of the liner ships is to use simulation taking into account both deterministic and stochastic processes arising from the operation of liner ships. The article describes a simulation model of a sea container line, for example, the company Fesco, working on a regular container line in St. Petersburg (Russia), using mathematical model and proposed model ā€œfollow the leaderā€ to describe the movement of ships. The main task in the simulation is to achieve an optimal balance between ship traffic and the decision on group forecast issues with the composition of the ships on the line

IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF THE SEA PASSENGER TERMINAL BASED ON METHODS OF FORECASTING

Modern processes in the world economy directly affect the development and changes in sea passenger ports and their infrastructure. The principles of organization of the ā€œcity - sea passenger portā€ system are changing and becoming more complex. Recently there has been a significant increase in passenger traffic and cruise ship and ferry traffic in Baltic Sea. Since these objects are complex technical systems consisting of many elements, in their study it is necessary to use the system approach, to solve the problem of structure synthesis and the determination of objective functions. The objective of this publication was to study how the forecast for the development of demand for sea passenger ports (number cruise ships and passengers flow for next year) could be done by combining simulation and forecast functions. These tasks depend on the qualitative construction of specialized information simulation models. Such subsystems should be used by passenger port management for both operational everyday tasks and strategic tasks. One of the main goals of the forecast is the qualitative construction of an analytical function work of the terminal that determines the passenger flow based on real data. The article considers the solution of this problem by using the method of average growth rate and polynomial extrapolation. In the article, the characteristics and infrastructural features of the passenger ports of St. Petersburg are given, and the main directions of development based on the results of simulation are considered. The paper discusses advantages of using such forecast and their introduction in the early stages of operation of the terminal. The study represents an example of analytical information used for the forecast of the terminal load, the analysis of the workload and efficiency of the organization of the marine terminal in operational tasks using analytical function based on real data

Some Experiences of Specialists in Maritime Transport Education at SUAI (Russia) and the University of Dubrovnik (Croatia)

Transport sector is traditionally globally oriented, so education is necessarily connected with standardization. The importance of experience exchange between education centers and schools is obvious. More and more skills that are necessary for specialist in transport sector are connected with logistics and ICT. The most effective approach is that one in which the education is governed by simulators and especially educated instructors with great experience from real sector. In this paper, we have presented some experiences from Saint-Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (SUAI) in Russia and Maritime Department from The University of Dubrovnik in Croatia

The interpretation of the field angle dependence of the critical current in defect-engineered superconductors

We apply the vortex path model of critical currents to a comprehensive analysis of contemporary data on defect-engineered superconductors, showing that it provides a consistent and detailed interpretation of the experimental data for a diverse range of materials. We address the question of whether electron mass anisotropy plays a role of any consequence in determining the form of this data and conclude that it does not. By abandoning this false interpretation of the data, we are able to make significant progress in understanding the real origin of the observed behavior. In particular, we are able to explain a number of common features in the data including shoulders at intermediate angles, a uniform response over a wide angular range and the greater discrimination between individual defect populations at higher fields. We also correct several misconceptions including the idea that a peak in the angular dependence of the critical current is a necessary signature of strong correlated pinning, and conversely that the existence of such a peak implies the existence of correlated pinning aligned to the particular direction. The consistency of the vortex path model with the principle of maximum entropy is introduced.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figure

Angular dependent vortex pinning mechanisms in YBCO coated conductors and thin films

We present a comparative study of the angular dependent critical current density in YBa2Cu3O7 films deposited on IBAD MgO and on single crystal MgO and SrTiO3 substrates. We identify three angular regimes where pinning is dominated by different types of correlated and uncorrelated defects. We show that those regimes are present in all cases, indicating that the pinning mechanisms are the same, but their extension and characteristics are sample dependent, reflecting the quantitative differences in texture and defect density. In particular, the more defective nature of the films on IBAD turns into an advantage as it results in stronger vortex pinning, demonstrating that the critical current density of the films on single crystals is not an upper limit for the performance of the IBAD coated conductors.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures. Design of Force Fields from Data at Finite Temperature

We investigate the problem of how to obtain the force field between atoms of an experimentally determined structure. We show how this problem can be efficiently solved, even at finite temperature, where the position of the atoms differs substantially from the ground state. We apply our method to systems modeling proteins and demonstrate that the correct potentials can be recovered even in the presence of thermal noise.Comment: 10 pages, 1 postcript figure, Late

Observation of narrow baryon resonance decaying into pKs0pK^0_s in pA-interactions at 70GeV/c70 GeV/c with SVD-2 setup

SVD-2 experiment data have been analyzed to search for an exotic baryon state, the Ī˜+\Theta^+-baryon, in a pKs0pK^0_s decay mode at 70GeV/c70 GeV/c on IHEP accelerator. The reaction pAā†’pKs0+XpA \to pK^0_s+X with a limited multiplicity was used in the analysis. The pKs0pK^0_s invariant mass spectrum shows a resonant structure with M=1526Ā±3(stat.)Ā±3(syst.)MeV/c2M=1526\pm3(stat.)\pm 3(syst.) MeV/c^2 and Ī“<24MeV/c2\Gamma < 24 MeV/c^2. The statistical significance of this peak was estimated to be of 5.6Ļƒ5.6 \sigma. The mass and width of the resonance is compatible with the recently reported Ī˜+\Theta^+- baryon with positive strangeness which was predicted as an exotic pentaquark (uuddsĖ‰uudd\bar{s}) baryon state. The total cross section for Ī˜+\Theta^+ production in pN-interactions for XFā‰„0X_F\ge 0 was estimated to be (30Ć·120)Ī¼b(30\div120) \mu b and no essential deviation from A-dependence for inelastic events (āˆ¼A0.7)(\sim A^{0.7}) was found.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, To be submitted to Yadernaya Fizika. v3-v5 - Some references added, minor typos correcte
