In winter 1965/1966, parasites belonging to a new species – Tarsonemoides noxius Humiczewska, 1967 - were found in skin scrapings from 2 persons. In a 4-year old boy they occurred in the wrist, palm skin and intergidital space giving rise to vesicle formation and pruritus. In a 68-year old man, the parasites caused lesions of pruritus type on the trune. The reported cases are the first to show that the acarid from Tarsonemoides Trägårdh species, hitherto known as parasite of plants, may occur in human skin
