Renormalization of the vacuum angle in quantum mechanics, Berry phase and continuous measurements
The vacuum angle renormalization is studied for a toy model of a
quantum particle moving around a ring, threaded by a magnetic flux .
Different renormalization group (RG) procedures lead to the same generic RG
flow diagram, similar to that of the quantum Hall effect. We argue that the
renormalized value of the vacuum angle may be observed if the particle's
position is measured with finite accuracy or coupled to additional slow
variable, which can be viewed as a coordinate of a second (heavy) particle on
the ring. In this case the renormalized appears as a magnetic flux
this heavy particle sees, or the Berry phase, associated with its slow
rotation.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
Recycling and disposal of gypsum-containing waste generated in the production of citric acid
The cycle of citric acid production with the formation of gypsum-containing waste was considered and options for processing and utilization of citrogypsum were proposed. The methods obtained include: the use of citrogypsum in the production of building materials, the extraction of rare earth metals, as well as the creation of a high-quality organic-mineral fertilizer, during the creation of which it is possible to reduce the negative effect not only from the accumulation of citrogypsum, but also from manure stored in the filtration field
Outcomes of the extremely severe course of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 in a pregnant woman with Bland-White-Garland syndrome
The article presents a clinical observation of a favorable outcome of an extremely severe course of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 and delivery of a pregnant woman with surgically corrected Bland-White-Garland syndrome and a prosthetic mitral valve. Changes in the afterbirth indicating the formation of placental insufficiency are described. It is shown that a multidisciplinary approach and a high level of modern organizational and medical technologies are of paramount importance for the successful management of such patients and a favorable perinatal outcome.Π ΡΡΠ°ΡΡΠ΅ ΠΏΡΠΈΠ²Π΅Π΄Π΅Π½ΠΎ ΠΊΠ»ΠΈΠ½ΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠΎΠ΅ Π½Π°Π±Π»ΡΠ΄Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ Π±Π»Π°Π³ΠΎΠΏΡΠΈΡΡΠ½ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΠΈΡΡ

Bremsstrahlung in the gravitational field of a cosmic string
In the framework of QED we investigate the bremsstrahlung process for an
electron passing by a straight static cosmic string. This process is precluded
in empty Minkowski space-time by energy and momentum conservation laws. It
happens in the presence of the cosmic string as a consequence of the conical
structure of space, in spite of the flatness of the metric. The cross section
and emitted electromagnetic energy are computed and analytic expressions are
found for different energies of the incoming electron. The energy interval is
divided in three parts depending on whether the energy is just above electron
rest mass , much larger than , or exceeds , with the
string mass per unit length in Planck units. We compare our results with those
of scalar QED and classical electrodynamics and also with conic pair production
process computed earlier.Comment: 21 pages, to appear in Phys. Rev. D., KONS-RGKU-94-0
Features in constructing a certificate of strength of extraterrestrial material by the example of the Chelyabinsk meteorite
Β© 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. The mechanical properties of various components of the Chelyabinsk meteorite are studied. A measurement technique allowing one to obtain a strength certificate of the material by a minimum necessary number of samples with allowance for defectiveness is developed. Universal expressions for the chondritic component and impact melting have been obtained. The expressions allow one to make general estimates of the strength boundaries for LL type meteorites
Mucins and cytokeratins AE1/AE3 and D2-40 expression level in ΠΠΠΠ‘R-positive phenotype of atypical small acinar proliferation and prostate carcinoma
We took 540 prostate biopsy samples from 90 patients with atypical small acinar proliferation and prostate carcinoma. We divided the into six groups: the 1st group consisted of 15 patients with prostate carcinoma of a I Grade group; the 2 nd group β 15 patients with prostate carcinoma of a II Grade group; the 3 rd group β 15 patients with carcinoma of a III Grade group ; 4 th group β 15 patients with prostate carcinoma of a IV Grade group; 5 th β 15 patients with prostate carcinoma of a V Grade group; 6 th β 15 patients with atypical small acinar proliferation. We used morphological assay and statistical methods to provide comparative analysis of the groups. The lowest acid mucin expression level was observed in patients with atypical small acinar proliferation, whereas the highest level was observed in patients with prostate carcinoma of a I Grade group. The highest epithelium marker AE1/Π°Π΅3 expression level was observed in patients with carcinoma of a II Grade group (3 scores); the lowest was observed in patients with carcinoma of a V Grade group (1 score). D2-40 marker expression level analysis revealed, that the total bulk density of limphatical vessels was the highest in atypical small acinar proliferation than in prostate carcinoma.ΠΠ·ΡΡΠ΅Π½ΠΎ 540 Π±ΠΈΠΎΠΏΡΠ°ΡΠΎΠ² ΠΏΡΠ΅Π΄ΡΡΠ°ΡΠ΅Π»ΡΠ½ΠΎΠΉ ΠΆΠ΅Π»Π΅Π·Ρ ΠΎΡ 90 ΠΏΠ°ΡΠΈΠ΅Π½ΡΠΎΠ², ΡΡΠΎΡΠΌΠΈΡΠΎΠ²Π°Π²ΡΠΈΡ

A Precision Measurement of Nuclear Muon Capture on 3He
The muon capture rate in the reaction mu- 3He -> nu + 3H has been measured at
PSI using a modular high pressure ionization chamber. The rate corresponding to
statistical hyperfine population of the mu-3He atom is (1496.0 +- 4.0) s^-1.
This result confirms the PCAC prediction for the pseudoscalar form factors of
the 3He-3H system and the nucleon.Comment: 13 pages, 6 PostScript figure
Zero modes in a system of Aharonov-Bohm fluxes
We study zero modes of two-dimensional Pauli operators with Aharonov--Bohm
fluxes in the case when the solenoids are arranged in periodic structures like
chains or lattices. We also consider perturbations to such periodic systems
which may be infinite and irregular but they are always supposed to be
sufficiently scarce
The Review of Anthrax Situation 2013, the Forecast for 2014
The analysis of epidemiological and epizootiological situation on anthrax in the Russian Federation and in the world in 2013 is carried out. The forecast of disease for 2014 is presented. Anthrax morbidity in humans in Russia is shown to decrease in 2013 in comparison with that in 2012 (2 cases versus 12). Three anthrax cases are registered in cattle
